I'm sad to report that RuSan's has seriously gone down hill. I remember when I had friends in town on a regular basis and I would make sure that they each experienced RuSan's whil...

Atrocious customer service 7/9/2007

I used to go to the Ru San's in Charlotte, NC and it was fantastic. When I moved to Nashville and found out there was one here I was sadly disappointed to find the service was beyond sloppy, and the food forgotton about on the counter. more

The Food is Great, but Don't Go for the Service! 6/28/2007

We have been to Ru Sans many times and always enjoy the food. However, if you're sensitive about being treated well and want to be served in a timely manner, this is not the place for you. My husband and I even joke about how the sushi is so good, we'll take the mistreatment. Although in all seriousness, that's no way to run a restaurant and they really need to step up the service. I love the atmosphere and the sushi is truly the best around, but I have found myself seeking my sushi fix elsewhere because I like to give my hard earned money to businesses that value me as a customer. Pros: Awesome, creative sushi! Cons: Service is slow and waiters constantly have to be reminded to refill drinks, etc. more

Good service, fun atmosphere, interesting food! 6/26/2007

My husband and I ate at Rusan's on a Monday night, fairly late. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door and a waitress came over and promptly took our drink orders. Although they were out of the appetizer we wanted, she was able to suggest one (an asparagus spring roll) that was very good. Our sushi was good, and they had a HUGE menu of all kinds of specialty rolls and miscellaneous Japenese fare. Overall, the atmosphere was fun (but don't eat here if you can't tolerate loud music), the food selection was great, and the quality of the food and service were excellent. We'd definitely eat here again. Pros: Interesting menu choices, great service, trendy atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Like In Japan 5/23/2007

I am sushi fanatic, feel like home. I have been eating in Rusans many years now, start from Atlanta and now in Nashville, like all the freshness from the fish they used. Normally i eat only Sashimi assortment, but today i tried Pros: Good Sashimi with price below others Cons: waiting line more

Terrible Service 5/10/2007

RuSan's has a great atmosphere; however, their service gets a big, fat F. I do not recommend this place to anyone. My husband and I were very dissapointment the last time we tried to eat there (around 2 weeks ago). We were seated promptly but ended up WALKING OUT after we waited to order for over 20 minutes. As a result, we have no plans to return for now unless the management changes. Pros: Ambience Cons: TERRIBLE SERVICE, Parking more

Quality not as good as before 5/10/2007

When it first opened it was great with great Chefs from Japan and the food was truly a delight and fresh. After new management took over, food took a nose dive. Small portions, wrong orders, special orders never filled, sushi not fresh, rude and does not understand instructions, poor customer service. We are big sushi fans and have been to Tokyo many times for a vacation but for this type of quality.... hmmm. The ambience of the place is very cool but the food is not. Pros: Near other restaurants Cons: Poor quality of sushi and service more

Rude Service at Rusan's 5/5/2007

My daughters and daughter's boyfriend went there and attempted to order off dollar menu. After waiting an inordinately long time for their food, the sushi was brought served all on one plate. When the bill was brought it was for more expensive items than what were originally ordered. When my daughter complained the waiter first and then the night duty manager argued with her and told her they didn't make the mistake. Don't make the mistake of trying to argue with the clueless help in this place. more

This is a sushi town. 3/22/2007

I have been to this restaurant several times. In fact I was very pleased when it opened because it was so distinctive and the food was very good. Ah, the good old days! Pros: Ambience Cons: Ambience more

Great food, Horrible service!!!!!!!!! Do not take large groups!!!!! 3/7/2007

Great food, Horrible service!!!!!!!!! And I do mean horrible. I and a group of six people visited Rusan's for my little sisters 21st birthday. All of our meals came out at different times. And when I say different I mean extremely different! One of the girls got her meal five minutes prior to us leaving. Everyone had already finished so she had to box it up. The server walked off in the middle of taking our order. It took us notifying two other servers to get even our drink order completed. When we asked for a manager one of the cooks unbelievably said he was. I still do not know if was or not! When we told him about our problem all he would say is you eat you pay. We told him we were not trying not to pay because the food was good, but all he kept saying is you eat you pay. I have never been treated so badly by a restaraunt or a restaraunt manager. Usually most managers have some type of professionalism about them but he didn't! I would not recommend the restaraunt ecspecially if you are in a large group! Pros: Great sushi Cons: Horrible service, Long food wait, Meals arrived at extremely different times! more

My favorite restaurant in Nashville! 2/10/2007

I have been to Rusan's many times and enjoy it more and more each time I go. This is a great place to take your business clients for the lunch buffet. In the evening the atmosphere is fun and an experience in itself. I have found the staff to be quite friendly and the food is amazing. This is a great place to come and enjoy some great food and unwind. You must go there for the best calamari in town! It is also on the lunch buffet. The menu is unbelievable as they offer everything you can imagine. The sushi chefs and cooks are fun to just sit and watch. You will leave here full and relaxed! My favorite restaurant in Nashville! Pros: Food and atmosphere more

Best Sushi in TN. sit at the Bar and tip well and you will never be disappointed! Prices are Great and best variety! 1/25/2007

When I have to travel to Nashville from Cookeville (about 80+ miles east) I've got sushi on my mind!!! My wife and my daughters 19, 13,and 12 and my son 18 all love to come to Ru Sans.( Not so much my 12 year old, Yet, but she is coming along. She still likes her fish cooked and they will cook it for her.) It is like a going to a family business. Everyone I have met are all friendly and courteous. If they were in Cookeville I would eat there several times a week. Several of my friends, that I have told, have all had the same experience. Every other Sushi restaurant I have been to before, some were also good, I could not afford enough to feel satisfied, But at Ru Sans you get your money's and MORE! Pros: 5 thumbs up. Great food Great Prices! Cons: Parking! But they have valet service at $5.00 more

Best sushi in town.. 1/12/2007

I am a loyal custumer of Rusan's restaurant. Friendly , fun and very clean place to eat. Trust me I am allergic to seafood but it is one of my weakness. I have to be very very careful where i eat seafood. I have been there many many times and it has been nothing but awsome food, and very fresh. Trust me if it does not look fresh i wont even dare. But at Rusans I know that it will be nothing but great food... In a matter of fact I will be there tomorrow night. I CAN'T WAIT!!!! Pros: Food, Ambience more

Best Sushi Ever! 1/9/2007

RUSAN'S IS THE BEST SUSHI RESTAURANT! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant for anyone who is looking to have an amazing evening full of upbeat music, always friendly staff, and amazing food! My friends and I have been going to Rusan's for 6 months now and will continue to make this restaurant our Friday night hot spot before going out. They have the best sushi that i have ever eaten. We have never had a problem with the service or food! P.S. DON'T FORGET THE SAKE BOMBS! Pros: FOOD, AMBIENCE, SERVICE Cons: SOMETIMES CRAZY BUSY more

Best Sushi in town! 11/13/2006

I love to go to Rusans! Yes it does get crowded and it does get loud- but you have to admit...do you know many sushi restaurants that has a nightlife atmosphere? My food has always been promply served ( and if you sit at the Sushi bar- you are guarenteed to get full before your meal arrives from all of the "" samplers"" the chef's give you). My husband has a hard time deciding in restauants- he likes to study the menu first. Well, the first time we went to Rusan's they presented us with three menus ( they have a very extensive menu list) and I thought we would never get through all of the items! We have many favorites now , one that I must order everytime "" The King and I"" . We love it! Pros: Great sushi , fun atmosphere Cons: Can get too crowded and loud more

Interesting 11/12/2006

OK, I am not a sushi fan, but I have friends that are. When I had some come into town a few people recommended Rusan's. There was a very young and trendy crowd and it smelled like fish when I walked in. It was very noisy, but we were seated promptly and the waiter was very accommidating. As you can guess I was worried about what I was going to eat, I soon found that there was plenty on the menu for someone that does not eat raw fish. (I did try some, and I will not be doing that again very soon!) Ultimately we had a great time and my friends were very impressed. SO, it was a complete success and I will definately recommend Rusan's to anyone want to do the SUSHI SCENE. Pros: Not Just Raw Stuff Cons: Very Noisy more

Sample it all! 10/25/2006

Indecisive types will love the sheer number of choices available at Rusan's. While the quality is not quite on par with what sushi snobs may come to expect, there are enough choices to find more than enough to satisfy your pallet. Make sure you go early if you're planning on lunch...lines grow out the door quicky. more
