LONG for food, poor service 12/18/2010

Went with a group of 12, with a reservation for the semi-private room, and had to wait almost 90 minutes for the food! They didn't tell us what was hapening - didn't apologize for the long wait till we complained - and didn't offer to bring food or rice for the kids in the group while we watied all that time. The food was fine, but we will not be back! Had they only said something or tried to make the wait easier - but nothing at all. Disappointing - more

Best Fried Rice and Impeccable Service! 11/12/2007

The food is exceptional with very complex flavors, extremely fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation. To top it off, the service is amazing, very prompt and super friendly. Plus, the atmosphere is lovely. The fried rice is amazing! You're missing out if you don't try this place! more

Used to be a great restaurant 5/16/2007

This restaurant used to be my favorite. I dont know if they got new owners or what but this restaurant has become terrible. The service was bad and the food had only a greasey taste to it. The restaurant itself is lovely, but there are much better Thai restaurants in Seattle to eat at. Cons: tasteless food more

Some of the best Thai food in Seattle, with perhaps the best atmosphere of any Thai restaurant in Seattle 2/17/2007

Some of the best Thai in Seattle - and I've tried most! Flavorful, fresh and light! Smaller portions (not by a lot - but slightly smaller, yes). Tradtional Thai offerings, but much better than average. Atmosphere is much better than your average Thai place in Seattle (romantic even). Not so good for young children (hence the romantic qualities). Highly recommended! Pros: Good flavors, great atmosphere and service. Very good food! Cons: None to speak of. more

Good lunch deal. 11/12/2006

I'm not a huge fan of this Thai place, while the decore is nice, the thai food seems to lack a bit of authenticity. Pros: pad thai is good, fresh ingredients, Cons: un-authentic, service can be a bit rude more

Most awful Thai food in town 3/21/2006

If folks think this is the best Thai in town, they must not get around. Perhaps we went at a bad time, but how can it be that three dishes were equally dissatisfying? It's definitely made for Americans; the food is either too sweet or bland (and not even the sauces help). They obviously use minced garlic from the jar. Their cheap methods of cooking make the prices completely unreasonable. I'm guessing it needs to be expensive to take care of the high overhead of renting out the nice location. That was the only positive part of the visit. The service was fine, prompt, though our waitress did not crack a smile with any of the patrons during the time we were there. Pros: Location Cons: Bad Food, Stoic Waitresses more

left a bad taste... 1/29/2006

I went for lunch with a friend, we live very close and I've had good take-out from here before. Our lunch waitress was beyond impolite - spoke to us quite disdainfully and never checked back after we got our food. I normally enjoy their food, but was so offended, I will not be back. more

Flavorless Thai 3/21/2005

I have been dragged by friends to the Royal Palm on many occasions, and I will not go back. Although the atmosphere is is great for an Asian restaurant and the service friendly, it doesn't make up for the bland, overpriced food that caters to Western tastes. Regardless of the number of stars you request, the food is not spicy. I have tried the curries, salads, larb, mee krab, pad thai, and salads and remain unimpressed. The food is heavy, too sweet, and lacking in the complex mix of sour, spicy, salty, and sweet that characterizes Thai food. There are many, many other Thai restaurants in the area that serve far better food. Pros: attractive decor, romantic lighting, friendly service Cons: bland food, overpriced more

Definitely one to try! 1/1/2005

I have been here a few times and I must say that I have been satisfied every time. The food is great, the portions are good, and the ambiance is wonderful. Great for dates. If you love Thai food, you have to check this place out! The price is good for the portion size (around $8.50 avg) Pros: Fast service, Large portions, Great tasting food more

Excellent Thai food 11/7/2003

One of the best Thai places in Seattle. Excellent food, friendly and prompt service. The Pud Thai is to die for. Well balanced curry dishes. Tom Yum soup is the best I've ever had anywhere. Pros: Great food, Excellent service more

My New Favorite Thai Restaurant 7/1/2003

After hearing favorable reviews from my friends about this place, my boyfriend & I decided to check it out last night and looks like I'll be eating here everytime I visit Whole Foods (it's right across the street). The food was very delicious...we ordered sauteed shrimp with asparagus & tofu and the crispy duck with orange ginger sauce. Yum! The duck was so succulent that we ate it all! And the staff? They were very friendly. I defninitely will come back again! Pros: food, location, service more

Our favorite restaurant 5/3/2003

My girlfriend and I love this place. The food and service are excellent. The ambinece is nice and romantic, and it seems as if the owners have done something to improve it even further any time we get there. I couldn't tell you my favorite dish - I enjoy the entire menu. Lastly - the pricing is very affordable, especially if you go for lunch which always includes soup and rice. Pros: great service, excellent food, affordable more

Thai one on. 8/15/2002

We live close enough to be there every week - and we are. Lucky us. Great curry - beautiful ambience. A little pricey, compared to Krittika - which is also right near us. :) more
