Best

i've been here for a year and had trouble finding authentic pizza in houston.... and this place rocks. great food, reasonable price, new york friendliness. really! : ) that's a go...

Worst

I love NY pizza. So when I hear the reviews of Romano's, I went. I fail to see the comparison to their pizza and NY pizza other than the general circular appearance. It was not...

good italian pizza at high price 12/17/2002

i liked the pizza but i thought it was kinda expensive. It really isn't worth the drive. La Collina's is better, in my opinion since u never really need to drive far as compared to Romano's. Pros: expensive more

the best 12/11/2002

service with a smile with very friendly owners and wait staff more

Best in town! 11/14/2002

Great pizza the best in town. The thin crust reminds me of New York thin crust. If you are looking for the real thing this is it,if you want California Euro garbage go to Star's! more

Pizza Heaven 11/1/2002

What a Pizzzeria was meant to be like. Not corporate Pizza, Not Kiddie Pizza and not Snobby Pizza. more

A slice of New York 10/31/2002

It's difficult to find authentic New York style pizza in Texas, so when you do, it is a wonderful suprise. Perfect pizza, by the slice or whole pies, freshly made-to-order calzones, great sandwiches and salads, and traditional entrees make this a gem. Pros: Great pizza, Great food Cons: Order at the counter, No delivery more

You want to eat here 10/25/2002

Pizza here comes pretty close to the stuff in NY, best I've had since moving to Houston. Although I wish the dough was a little softer... more

FOGGETABOUTIT!!!! 10/14/2002

Hands down the best pizza in the city. Takes me back to the days when I would walk down Jamaica Ave in Queens and get a slice and a coke. Romano's is a legitimate NY pizzeria. more

NY Style Pizza 10/7/2002

This was the best pizza I had eaten in Houston to date. I used to live in NY and it was hard to find anything that would resemble the taste and texture of traditional NY pizza. Rommano's has done it. more

Romano's fuggedaboutit hands down! 10/5/2002

Vinny and Frankie are from my old stomping grounds in Queens, NY. Their style for making pizza is truely old Sicilian style. These guys take pride in their food. I've not tasted a better New York style pizza like that since my days living in New York. You gotta respect these 2 guys and the pizza they put out. fuggedaboutit! Pros: Friendly, easy Parking, Quick more

Straight-up, darn good pizza. 9/28/2002

I have never been a fan of plain 'ole cheese pizza until I ate it here. The pies aren't smothered in tomato sauce like many places where the cheese ends up sloughing off the dough and giving you third-degree burns in your mouth. The pizza here has just the right amount of spices, grease and tanginess. The dough is thin, crisp on the edges and slightly chewy in the center. Mmmm! Pros: Good service Cons: Delivery? more

whassup service 8/25/2002

a great foodie place. look past the italiano attitude and the guys are great. more

Best pizza this side of New York City 8/10/2002

I'm from New York, so I know good pizza! Romano's reminds me of home. It's the best pizza in Houston! more

pizza heaven 8/2/2002

A bite of their New York style pizza transports me back to a New York City pizza parlor. This is the only pizza that I have sampled so far in Houston that has perfected the New York style pizza. Huge slices, fresh ingredients and reasonable prices (a heck of a lot cheaper than going to New York). The staff is friendly and remembers you after just a few visits. more

one of the best in houston! 7/27/2002

i've had great pizza and i've had bad pizza. it depends on when you go. if you go late at night, don't get it by the slice or order a fresh pizza. lunch time is the best time to go as it's pretty fresh. i've never had a bad full pizza there and it's very authentic to ny style pizza. the service is great, i've never had a bad experience there. i suspect those that did might have deserved it. the ambiance is pretty good too. not necessarily a romantic place but a good place to hang out with friends and eat some pie. more

Excellent!!! 7/26/2002

Ok, the pizza is not my type, but the pasta is GREAT! Little Italy in Manhattan serves less, costs more and tastes the same. Try the shrimp parmesan or just lasagna. Quick service, real food. Love there marinara sauce. Pros: Food, Service, Casual Cons: ???? more

**EXTREMELY** Overrated! 6/21/2002

I cannot believe that people in this city call this ""real"" NY pizza...or that any ""ex NY'er"" who has eaten here claims it's the best pizza in Houston. Any hole-in-the-wall pizza place on Long Island has better pizza than this place. The crust was cardboard, the sauce tasted like it came from a Heinz bottle, and the cheese was minimal. Please, give me a break. Are the restaurant's owner's writing those sappy, great reviews? Don't waste your money...a frozen pizza is just as good. more
