Dr Luke Proctor has been seeing my 2- pets sense 1997.. I was referred by my parents and I'm proud I am faithful client to Rigsby... All the Doctors have seen and cared for my pets.. I have always experienced nothing but professionalism from the Doctors and employees .The technicians always take their time and ask what my pets symptoms are or if it's a wellness appointment they offer everything starting from vaccines , blood work , heartworm test and anything that my pets may need ...The Doctors have always taken their time to explain everything to me . I personally refer other family members and friends to Rigsby Veterinary Clinic ... more

This should be raided as a -5 unfortunately this does not allow you to do it. I have had it with this place no matter how convenient it is, it’s not worth your time and your pet’s time. The employees are so rude and not very knowledgeable. I personally have waited for over 10 minutes on the phone just to answer a question. Should you get an opportunity to see them they don’t even acknowledge you when you walk in to the clinic you can stand there and they never look up and give me eye contact !!.. Not sure what has happened to this clinic, but I will no longer spend my MONEY or my pet’s precious’s time here again. \r You are the consumer without you no company will be able to thrive. more

My family and I have been coming to Rigsby Veterinary clinic when Dr. Burchers was the veterinary. Dr. Luke Proctor and Dr. Sheryl Proctor are the only 2 doctors that see my 2- senior dogs. They are both excellent Doctors but if the staff doesn't improve I am sorry to say I have no problems asking for copies of my dogs records and going elsewhere. The suggestion I do have is a better office manager, pleasant receptionists and more educated technicians.... At one point they had a very pleasant clinic manager by the name of Sarah L... She always acknowledged me by my last name, ( the 2 front desk employees never can remember my name nor my pets even if I had just been there the day before . Better yet I don't even get acknowledged when walking in to the clinic.. ) was very people friendly and compassionate employee. Whenever checking in for an appt with Sarah or one of her receptionist I NEVER had to repeat what my visit at the office was for that day... These 2 girls that they have now are just flat out ignorant. They keep each other humored with none related work conversions instead of checking up with the clients in the waiting room...God forgive you call up to the client because you will be left and sometimes even forgot on hold. I can’t even count the many times this has happen to me. Now on the other hand there is 2 ( and I mean only 2 ) technicians ( Kristy and Emily ) that are very thorough and i always make sure it only one of them that see my 2 dogs. \r \r Over all I can only say good things about the Doctors and the 2 technicians... I do hope that Dr. Proctor does read this and replaces some of his staff like he has been doing to his clinic.\r more

I have been going to Dr. Luke Proctor for years. I would not take my animals anywhere else. He has gone above and beyond to help my animals. He and his staff truly care about helping my loved pets get better. When I board my dogs they never seem stressed when I return. Sondra takes excellent care of them. I love Dr. Luke Proctor and his staff at Rigsby Veterinary Clinic. He has been taking care of my beloved pets since 2000. He is always compassionate and I feel like he loves my pets just as much as I do. He goes above and beyond to make sure I understand how to care for my pets. My daughter states she wants to treat animals just like he does when she grows up. Love this place can't say enough about them. I have even seen Dr. Sheryl Proctor and Dr. Gonzalez. I had a cat emergency this morning and have NEVER seen such GROSS incompetence and such ignorant and uncaring staff. I brought the cat in at 8:00 and was greeted by a front office with clients, but the staff was busy talking in the back and couldn't be bothered. When an overweight blonde guy did show up, he pretended to be preoccupied with reading material, and ignored everybody while reading. When I finally grabbed his attention, he said he would call a technician to take my animal to the back. After 10 minutes, I asked him if he was going to do ANYTHING, and once again said he would get a tech but the vet wasnt there yet. I asked him to assist, but he did nothing. Fearing for the health of the animal, I took him to another vets office, and he died later in the day. I'm sure that the critical time wasted here sentenced the animal to death. Avoid this wretched establishment unless you like dead cats. more

We have been going to this vet for almost 10 years. They have cared for our 3 dogs and cat. I can't complain. They have given our pets great care and very reasonably priced. It's hard to believe all the other negative reviews that people post here. I'm assuming they are maybe exagerating and had a bad day themselves. more

This is the BEST Vet clinic in town!!!! Dr Proctor and ALL the Dr's in the clinic are world class. They care and give you options for your animals health care. I have 2 cats 5 dogs and have always had the best care and concern from this vet. I would NEVER go anywhere else. You can tell they all do their job because they love animals. more

I took my cat there for what i thought was a broken leg. Instead it was a broken hip I didn't have money for surgery. The staff were very compassionate I had to put my cat to sleep. A few days later they sent me and my family a sympathy card when we needed most. I highly recommend taking animals there, because they are caring. more

Our experience with Dr. Horace Proctor at Rigsby Vet has been very positive. It is obvious that he loves animals and his job. He is very good at educating pet owners. He is very patient, compassionate and takes his time with the pet owner and is considerate about cost of care. He is easy to talk to and never in a rush. When we had to put our two beloved elderly cats, Kipes and Robin, to sleep, we could not have had a more caring vet. His office has always been clean. I highly recommend this vet. more

I don't know about the quality of vet services, but their customer service leaves something to be desired. The lady on the phone was short with me, rude, and placed me on hold for an extended length of time after asking her for some basic prices. If that was the famous "Sara" mentioned in all of these reviews, I don't understand her popularity. The lady who answered the phone at Affordable Pet Care on Grissom was very nice and extremely helpful. The cost may be a little more, but I'm willing to pay an extra $10 for the quality of service. more

Dr Luke Proctor and Dr Cheryl Proctor are both excellent veterinarians. Not only do they care about the animal deeply, but they care about the prices that are given to the owners and try to make the best care affordable. This is a very wonderful veterinary clinic with fantastic people. It is obvious that whomever would put anything even half way derragotory on this page does not know the clinic or the veterinarians very well. They will also, not hesitate to tell clients what they are doing wrong for the pets. But, there again, this is in the pets best interest. If you can't handle it and care for, commit, or love your animal like you should, and like the animal deserves, then you shouldn't have the privilege of owning one. And, while I am at it, get your pets spayed and neutered. Stop giving in to the unwanted pet population that is euthanized every year by millions. Take care of them...they depend on you. You are their vioce. more

Have been going to Rigsby Clinic for longer than Dr Procter has been there and have had no problems until yesterday(10-18-10). I took one of my cats to have his claws clipped. I held him and the tech did the back-no problem. Started to do the front and he got a little grumpy and p.o.'d. By the time she had finished that one she said she was going to take him to the back to finish the other. After a fairly long wait and hearing him really squalling she brought him out and said she got all but one done and he was just too agitated. \r I took him up front and was informed it would be $20. Last year he had it done and it was $8. When my Mom called to question the charge she was informed it was $20 because he had acted up and it took 4 people to hold him down. I guess I was charged $4 for each person for their time. Not a happy camper. more

I have NEVER in my 5 years of going to Rigsby had a problem. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats all to which visit Dr. Proctor and his staff regularly. Dr. Proctor has spayed and neutered all of them. He has the lowest prices in San Antonio BY FAR and has never been rude or unhelpful to me, my friends and family who go there, OR anyone that I've seen in the clinic. The staff as well are extremely compassionate. I have been in there when it was very busy and yet someone had the time to acknowlage me and reassure me that I will be helped as soon as possible. My pets have also stayed there plenty of times and they are always so happy and healthy looking (which is such a relief since i have gone to other vets and i pick my pets up and they look like they are sickly) There is NEVER a long wait and they accept walk-ins which is also always a short wait. Rigsby Vet Clinic is by far the best clinic! I have always had such wonderful service and the staff is great. Sarah is absolutely WONDERFUL and is always so nice and helpful.\r Everytime I have any questions or concerns, Dr. Proctor is always willing to help me and explain to me in an understanding matter. Rigby's prices are better than reasonable, in fact they are the cheapest I have seen. I have recommended this clinic to several friends who have also LOVE the staff, the doctor, and the service. I have been seeing Dr. Proctor for 10 years and he is the best vet in the state of Texas. I have been to other vets in San Antonio and he is by far the best one! His staff is so considerate and Sarah is the best. She is very helpful and willing to do everything she can to help the clients and their pets. I have boarded there PLENTY of times and have always left a deposit. And about the flea pill, that is a MANDATORY thing. As soon as they take the dog/cat back they get the capstar (flea pill). Wouldn't you want money down in case something happened to your BELOVED pet? I know that I sure would. I would never just leave them and say I'll be back here. I always leave a deposit and let them know an amount that I would want them to treat my pet with. Would you ever leave your child and just say I will be back? No most people wouldn't! You know everyone who has "bad experiences" leave negative posts but not enough people who have good experiences leave good posts. They just go more

I have been using Dr. Proctor for over 4 years now. He is a very good vet. He never charges for unnecssary tests. Sarah is great and very helpful to me when I call. I have many dogs and have sent other pet owners there. Sheryl Proctor is one of the vets there and she is great too. I highly reccomend this clinic to others. There prices are great too. more

This Doctor ( Horace Luke Proctor ) has very bad bed-side manner's and very disrespectful toward any animal's, (example) of having no compassion toward your pet / animal's\r The place is very dirty and slowly becoming unsafe for your pet's to be there.\r The previous Doctor was Doctor Burcher's who once owned Rigsby Veterinary Clinic on Rigsby Ave.. \r Doctor Burcher had compassion toward your pet / animal's know matter what and kept the clinic clean and friendly.\r Since "Dr. Horace Luke Proctor" has taken over the Clinic it's has went down hill and not so friendly and can be rude toward you and disrespecting your pet's health as well.\r \r I find Dr. Horace Luke Proctor to be "RESPONSIBLE for my beloved pet dying on his exam table" under his care and the staff they would not let me in the exam room with my pet to be by her side while she laid dying alone My beloved pet meant the world to me.\r \r His staff gave me no options or did not ask me any questions when I took her in for an emerge more

I was scheduled for surgery on monday at 6am and I took My Rufus to be boarded there at Rigsby Animal Hospital .\r \r First the Staff office manager decides to have the staff to tell me I have to leave a deposit .\r Rufus has been there for the five years of his life! It wasnt like he was a new patient there. Well the office manager never even bother to come out to talk to me.\r \r This place all it wants is your Money!!!! Beware !!!! \r \r My Rufus is like Family like many of your beloved pets are.\r \r So as most Vets close at noon on Saturday I returned and picked up my rufus to take it to a "Better AnimaL HOSPITAL " who Respects Animals and People!!!!\r \r I have pet insurance that I pay dearly for my Rufus and all the office manager concern was a Deposit !!!\r \r Like if i was ever going to leave my Beloved Pet and not ever pick Him Up!!!..\r \r They were so concerned for Money !!!\r \r So besides worried about Surgery Monday Morning I had to look for another Annimal Hospital to take more
