Worst

Very Serious - I was trapped in the lobby/parking garage elevators there for over 45 minutes. This is after the elevator fell from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor with me in it. (I...

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/22/2012

parked at Greenway Center and got towed. Talked to other people and they said the place is a scam and is notorious for towing. We usually park in the garage but this time wanted to park in a different place. Big mistake even though the businesses were closed and we were spending money in the same center we still got towed. One of the employees at a shop that was open said the tow truck hides around the corner and comes out to tow people. Another woman told me that many of her friends had been towed even though they ate at the restaurant there because they made the mistake of walking around in the area for a little while after their meal. DON'T GO TO THIS THEATER OR ANY BUSINESS IN THE GREENWAY PLAZA OR GREENWAY CENTER!!!!!! more

Worst Theater Ever 9/20/2011

I had gone to this theater a couple of times with my boyfriend and his kids and swore I would never go back. Not only do you have to pay $3 to park, their ticket prices are the highest in the city. If they don't get all your money there or with their high price concessions, they will get it in their arcade. Their arcade games are unmanned and either don't work or give you 10 seconds of play for $1.50. They had a power outage one time and our movie ran late and the Manager was very short and rude to me. I usually go to premiers at the one on Katy Fwy but tonight it was at this one. I didn't realize that the parking takes Cash Only so I had to drive through and go find an ATM just so I could park. This makes me late. I am then directed to go upstairs where I am greeted by a ticket taker and two managers. The manager closes to me informs me that I can more

Ridiculously Overpriced 12/9/2010

Seems to already be plenty of one-star reviews for this place, but I'll add mine anyway. I had always thought this movie theater to be overpriced, but after yesterday's experience, my friends and I will not be coming back here again. A movie plus parking for two is well over $25 ($10.25 per adult ticket, plus $3 to park; if you park anywhere nearby you WILL be towed even if the other businesses are closed). Good luck trying to find off-street parking as the strip behind the theater is always packed. My friend got towed from the empty business lot next to the theater and we chipped in to pay off the $200 it cost to get her car out of the impound where they held her car hostage. The rest of us got screwed by paying the extra $3 cash to park, including ATM fees if we didn't have cash. The interior of the theater is typically packed with pre-teens running rampant and the employees seen clueless. It just seems like an added annoyance to deal with an added parking fee when movie ticket prices are already sky high. If I go out for a film, I much prefer the MarqE location off I-10. more

Beware of towing!!! 12/5/2010

I guess I should rate this as the Best $220 movie I saw! more

WORST THEATER IN HOUSTON....do NOT go there! 9/19/2010

Never EVER come to this sh*thole of a theater! You have been warned! 1) you must PAY to park! 2) their ticket prices are two dollars per person more THAN ANY OTHER THEATER IN TOWN 3) their concessions are approximately 30% more costly than other theaters locally 4) if you DO go there pay the nine bucks for valet parking (it's a rip-off, I know, but trust me, do it) or YOU WILL BE TOWED!!!!! my wife and I spent 21 bucks on two tickets to a show, another 22 bucks for a small popcorn and two drinks and 300 freaking dollars to get our car out of impound because we didn't valet! I HOPE THE PLACE BURNS DOWN TOMORROW~!!!!! Never EVER EVER EVER EVER catch a movie at this DUMP! I only wish there was a ""zero stars"" option. I would rather eat a turd than ever return to this horrible sh*thole. more

Expensive, but pretty. Nice for a couple. Bad for a family. 12/30/2009

I actually really like the Edwards theater. And when a couple asks me about going to a theater, I recommend it. It can seem majestic due to its size and lighting. The smells are often of popcorn and candy, like a theater should be. If a family asks me, I point them in the direction of AMC Dunvale or something like that. It's just too expensive unless you're trying to impress someone. :) Generally, I'd say Edwards theater is great once in a while, but it gets so costly that I prefer it only for epic films. Iron Man. Star Trek. Avatar. I've seen those here, but for the less-anticipated films I like River Oaks. :) Simple. Nice. Comfy. And generally quiet. Pros: Cool atmosphere. Trendy, but good theaters. Cons: Expensive. Often overly-crowded. more

Get ready to empty those wallets! 9/25/2009

If you're looking for a cheap night out, don't come to this theatre. Like everyone else said, parking is paid, which is now $3. I drove around trying to find the street parking I was told about, but never found any. Most of the street parking spaces are now Truck Parking or No Parking zones. If you park there, you will get a ticket that will run you about $65. I know, since this what street parking violations run now. Pros: Nice atmosphere and roomy theatres Cons: Pricing! Rude parking attendants. more

No Student Discounts 9/23/2009

I just went to watch a movie last week with a couple of my girlfriends and asked for a student ticket. The lady giving tickets said that they do not give student discounts on fridays or on the weekends. Pros: Clean Cons: Ticket price more

greedy schmucks 8/29/2009

It is unconscionable to charge people to park at a movie theater, especially when tickets are already at the top of the market rate, if not higher. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

Refreshment price 5/13/2009

These refreshment prices need to REDUCE! A 32 oz coke costs $4.50 and a small popcorn is $5.50. That totals over $10 for two things. It is not a very honest price for the customers. Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: Refreshment are so overpriced!!!!! more

Not so good - Beware of disappointment 1/6/2009

Beware that you might have to pay $3.00 for parking and the movie you want to watch is sold out. No way to know this before you pay for parking, hunting for a space then walk a long way to the ticket booth. Also they hire a handicap girl who is very unhappy with her job at the entrance to check tickets. The poor girl is not up for the job and acts as if the patrons are there to bother her. Not so great image and impression for the theater. more

Overpriced Wal-mart style theater 11/3/2008

I will never go to this theater again. They not only charge you $9 for a ticket, but also charge you for parking. JUST to see a movie with a friend, it will cost you $25. Edwards is making a killing while River Oaks Theater is going out of business. Pros: CEO makes a lot of money Cons: Parking, Price, Atmosphere, Big corporate theater running small theater out of business more

Parents: Make sure your kids are really staying at the theater 1/5/2008

Parents should make sure that their ""little angels"" are really seeing a movie and not roaming the neighbohood across the street like a bunch of little thugs and hanging out on the curbs in front of peoples homes... Cons: Parking, little thugs, traffic, overpriced, did I mention the little thugs? more

PRICES CONTINUE TO GO UP VIA .50(cent) 12/22/2006

CONCERNED AVID THEATER GOER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: Seating basically comfortable Cons: Projectionists(some movies haven't a clue) more

Crowed, noisy, and overpriced. 11/20/2006

Avoid this teenage mecca if you are on a date and over 17. If you do go here, valet park! It's $2, parking in the garage is $3, and getting a VIP spot is $7. I parked VIP, because the parking garage was such a zoo. When I got inside, the movie I wanted to see was sold out - on all four theaters! Since I had just paid $7 to park, I felt obligated to select another movie. It was increadibly difficult to think of what else to see over the 50 million teenagers shouting at each other in the lobby (where are their parents?). I tried this Edwards, because it's closer to where I live, but, from now on, I'm going to stick with Edwards Marque on 10W. That location has a more mature clientele - and free parking! Pros: Comfortable seating Cons: Lobby filed with rabid teenagers, expensive parking, good movies sold out more

Update 6/25/2006

Just an update. Parking is now $3 and they do not give a discount at the concession stand. Also note that if you purchase icecream or food in the foyer area you can not take that into the theatre. more

Overrun with 12-15 year olds 12/28/2005

You should avoid this theater on Friday and Saturday nights as it is packed with 12-15 year old kids without parent supervision. This theater is confortable and has a good selection but the out of control children have anoyed me on several occasions including makeing loud comments/noises during movies and the allways irritating laser pointer. I haven't noticied any problems during the day time shows. Pros: Selection, Comfort Cons: Atmosphere, Unsupervised Children more

Parking not the issue 10/8/2005

Paying for parking and your movie ticket and the concession stand. Makes any visit to any theater an expensive propostion. The theater was nice, clean and the staff seemed to be helpful and attentive. My only complaint was the popcorn and softdrink. The stale dry flavorless popcorn that I paid way to much for was my biggest disapointment. Nearly $10 for a flat watery coke and old dead pop corn that wasn't even popped on site was too much for me. For $10 I can get two decent hot meals at a Jack in Box or Burger King. Theaters need to stop crying about loss of customers and start giving us some value and quality back in the concession stand. Pros: Clean, Service, Nice Screen Cons: Concessions more

One of the best Theaters..... 10/8/2005

Edwards Grand Palace Stadium 24 is one of the best theaters I have been to by far. The snack combos were worth every penny. The restrooms were very clean. The staff extremely friendly. I paid $5 for VIP parking and it was worth every penny. VIP parking gets you a first floor parking space versus ""regular"" parking where you get in where you fit....besides the first floor!! Pros: Snack Combos, Great Parking Price, Comfortable Seating Cons: none, none, none more
