Best

One of the best places ever been in, go check yourself and you know what I mean. Pros: Great to be here Cons: Nothing

Worst

Well, I'm not a negative person and I love to eat out. Pros: good service Cons: Boring place which feels like a bunker, dull atmosphere and food which only looks good

Great find! 9/18/2005

A new gem in a funky and fascinating neighborhood. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. Friendly waitstaff. Excellent appetizers: ono, chicken liver mousse, tomato salad with sheep's milk feta. Excellent entrees: coffee-rubbed pork shoulder (couldn't taste the coffee at all but it was delicious!!), wild king salmon. This salmon is now tied with my favorite salmon for the Best Salmon Dish of SF!! Excellent smoky taste balanced by sweeter corn etc. on the side. Several beautiful inventive desserts with seasonal fruits and standards like chocolate pot de creme with cinnamon. Good half bottles are available on the wine list. Ambience is homey yet chic. Pros: excellent value, high quality, delicious more

Great New Restaurant in the Mission... 9/18/2005

I went here this weekend with my father for dinner and it was a great time. We walked in without a reservation and on a very busy Friday night were seated within 10 minutes. The hostess was very pleasant and accomodating and the service was professional and friendly. The seared venison appetizer was delectable and the steak was wonderful for dinner. Dad had the pork which was incredible as well. We loved the food, service, and atmosphere and look forward to going back soon. Pros: service, food, value Cons: loud more

Good start 9/16/2005

We were greated warmly and seated immediately, which is always a miracle in the SF restaurant scene. We got the best table for 2 in the restaurant, in a corner. The room is nicely done and well lit. The menu is based on market and season, well balanced, prices are ok although high end for this neighborhood. Service is very good, order was taken quickly and food came not very long after. The food is quite good, portions are on the smaller side and food came warm but barely (my soup was definitely not warm enough, personal taste maybe). Desserts are simple and well done. Overall we had a very good time eventhough the restaurant was packed and therefore very loud. We'll probably go back in the near future. Pros: Food, Service, Seasonal menu Cons: Loud more

Hip, affordable and oh so good. 9/2/2005

This is my kind of food. Fresh as it gets with seasonal touches. Like the little gem lettuce salad with green figs. WOW. Haven't had a salad that good in a long time. I had the steak that was sliced like you might serve hangar steak and it was cooked perfectly with a flavorful crust. And the reduction sauce drizzled around was outstanding too. The best part: at $19 the beef was the most expensive thing on the menu. This place will be a sure hit. more
