Wonderful Food and Environment! 6/21/2010

My family and I went to this restaurant for Fathers Day. Seven adults 2 toddlers and a baby. They set up our table right at the front of the restaurant which was great. We were out of the way of other people and it gave us liberty with the kids. The food is EXCEPTIONAL, my dad husband and brother inlaw loved the food. The service is top notch everyone from the bus boy to our waiter were great and very accomodating. The only thing was that they did not have a changing table in the bathroom for our two month old but we managed just fine. Pros: We loved it! more

an oasis 7/3/2009

the moment the array of breads arrive at your table is when you realize that this place is not as it appears....it is definitely not ordinary. For those of you who place importance on ambience, I strongly suggest that you allow the element of surprise to take over... the passion is confined to the kitchen.. .the excellent flavors and quality of the food is even more enhanced by the visual beauty of the untradional, and skillful plating...the result being a two fold work of art.....the service was wonderful..the staff was polite, attentive and pleasant..the prices apprapo........it was a joyful experience and an unforgettable dinner....definitely worth the trip from jersey Pros: excellent food, generous portions, efficient staff more

Best Italian 5/16/2008

The Vitiello brothers are the best chefs in NY. The wonderful seasonal and regional Italian food is always memorable and beautifully presented. You find yourself swept away to a lovely Italian village , eating authentic cuisine. The wait staff is always welcoming and attentive. A wonderful wine cellar always has something special to offer. Aside from the homemade pastas, wonderful home baked breads, delectable desserts and the best house made mozzarella in the city, you can also find old fashioned family favorites. Do yourself a favor and try one of the many varied special menu items. You won't be disappointed. It is a true marvel that they keep coming up with something different. There are so many choices you will want to try them all, which is why I have been coming here for more than 30 years. You will want to come back again and again. I promise that you will be in for a rare treat. Buon Appetito. Pros: Homemade Pastas, Fresh Mozzarella, Awesome Bread more

Great Italian in Brooklyn 11/8/2007

Queen is an authentic, old-school Italian where the kitchen takes pride in everything they do. From the homemade bread and pasta to the main courses and then to the homemade desserts, you can see the care that goes into every dish. Portions are generous, and you'd be missing a real treat if you skip the fresh mozzarella, their signature dish. My wife and I usually order from the daily specials menu, and we also like the linguine with white clam sauce and the shrimp fra diavolo. The dining room might be somewhat plain, but when it's filled with the happy buzz of diners thoroughly enjoying themselves, it takes on a real charm. Do yourself a favor, have dinner at Queen and make up your own mind. Pros: Great food, fresh mozzarella, good Italian wine selection more

Comfort, thy name is Queen. 5/12/2007

Queen may well be the one of the best Italian restaurants in Brooklyn and, possibly, the entire City. With its ample portions of delicious food, including a wonderful breadbasket and a respectable wine list, Queen is the kind of place you want to visit with a group of hungry friends who like to share. more

Best Italian Food EVER! 12/30/2006

I have been going to Queen before I can remember. My aunt has an apartment in Brooklyn Heights and whenever I came up to NY to visit her, she always took me to Queen. It has become my favorite Italian restaurant of all time. From the beginning, the food is great. Who can refuse Queen's famous bread basket?? The appetizers, such as the fritturo misto, baked clams oreganata and the fresh mozzerella, are delicious and made to perfection. The main dishes are just as expertly arranged to immpecable quality! The chicken scappriola (sp?), the scallops, the cheese ravioli, the chicken parm (just to name a few) - ALL WONDERFUL AND SATISFYING! I'm drooling just thinking about all of it. Even if you as a customer seem sceptical about going to Queen, you should definitely give it a chance! Pros: The food, ambience, food, wine, FOOD Cons: Prices on some dishes, waiters could smile more more

Most over rated - over priced Italian 10/8/2006

If you live in NYC and have been thinking about making the trip to Brooklyn for this place save your $2.00 Metro card its not worth it. This type of place is a dime a dozen in the city and it would be a hell of a lot less expensive and better. I dont understand why this place gets good reviews for food it was so average and yet way overpriced. I mean based on there location there rent must be about half the price of a NYC restuant but yet a pasta dish starts at around $18. SAVE your time and money. Pros: It has a roof Cons: you name it more

Mediocre 10/7/2005

Many people seem to think highly of this restaurant, and maybe I just haven't eaten the right things, but I have been disappointed every time. I don't think that the food is all that traditionally Italian to begin with, and many of the seasonings used are combined together quite oddly. I have had dishes poorly cooked on more than one occasion. The wait staff is only mildly polite and all seem to be very sour. I've given up on Queen. Pros: Fresh Mozzarella Cons: Poor Service, Mediocre Food, Unreliable Preparatio more

GREAT food, polite service, nice atmosphere 5/31/2005

The first nice dinner I've had in Brooklyn. I am here for a year and plan to eat my way through Brooklyn Heights during my visit. Nice polite service, adult atmosphere, and perhaps the best Italian food I've had since I came back from Italy. Wonderful flavors, well-presented. Good wine list. Small tables, designed for couples? Pros: FOOD, atmosphere, service more

The Best Italian in Brooklyn 4/18/2005

It doesn't matter if you order in or eat at the restaurant - the food is ALWAYS DELICIOUS. This is pure, old school Italian food that is so worth every penny. The decor is nothing great to speak of, but who cares - the food is top notch. If you are looking for service and all the frills $$$ - Il Mulino is the best for both - if you are looking for a fabulous dinner in/out - this restaurant is it! I must admit, I am very spoiled by Queen -I get a FABULOUS dinner once a week - delivered to my door, piping hot and absolutely delicious!!! Queen, you are my Italian Gem in Brooklyn! Pros: Delicious more

Not bad at all 4/23/2003

The ambience is somewhat lacking... The service is good, but the staff is not too friendly. I had the lasagne, which was tasty, a little salty, but good, nonetheless. The cheese ravioli is very good. Overall, the food makes up for what is missing in the ambience and service. A tip for Queens' employees - smile, will you! Pros: food Cons: ambience more

One of the best in the city 8/5/2002

Forget the decor, food matters! One of the best Itailan in the city, Queen is worth visiting from Manhattan! Straightfoward, pleasing or whatever you expect from real Italian food. Pros: Food, food, food!, unpretentious, inviting Cons: Little pricy? more
