Made appointment ahead for an adult family of 4. Talked to them ahead of time: Yes change of your tops is no problem. Yes we can do outdoor/beach and white backdrops only. Sounds good right? Was told plan on 1 hour and we were there ready to go 15 minutes early as instructed even though the photographer was 20 minutes late for work! First customer of the morning. The girl looked like she had partied all night and came to work straight from wherever she ended up passing out - with hangover. When she was ready to get started she didn't even look at the questionnaire we filled out, just said follow me and took us to a room set up as a formal indoor Victorian backdrop with velvet couch (we are wearing jeans and summer colored tee shirts). Then instructions for the pose: 2 of you sit and 2 of you stand! I started to tell her we aren't here for this kind of picture - clearly. Did you read the information? Her response: I'm the artist, trust me, then stood on her tip toes and took a picture! Said: There, done that looks great, now change around a bit! We looked at each other. No one was posed. We were sitting back against the couch waiting to see how she wanted us, guys in back didn't have their hands on our shoulders, nothing. It looked just like it was: four people who walked in and plopped at a bad angle. (every pic she took was on tip toe - chick get a step to have better control of the shot) Every pic she took we had to hurry and quickly pose ourselves - and they all look like that - pictures taken unprofessionally that were armature and undirected. She then said ok we are done here. She got all pissed when we mentioned the clothing change -even though it was only our shirts and made all four of us (2 women and 2 men) change our tops in the lobby of people lucky we had camisoles on. Total time: 20 minutes. Proofs were BAD. Asked for refund bc didn't want any, said no it was prepay package. Filled coin to decide. Pitched them & went elsewhere. PI still sending us stuff even listed as DO NOT WANT! GET A CLUE! more

The experience was ok, but extremely pricey. The photos had errors, even though they costed me 408 dollars and some change. I wont go back. more

Its open floor concept is uncomfortable. If you need a change of clothing you have to walk practically through the waiting area. Also didn't appreciate all the onlookers? Not the managements fault gawking is a sport for some, but I think I'll go back to my more private photographer. more

Went here today for the first time, Excellent photographer - Kayla. Pictures looked very professional not like some of the terrible ones I've had taken at other studios who hire anyone off the street to take photos. I have my baby's photos taken every month and I will definately return to Portrait Innovations in the future. more

I will never, ever return to this place again. The service was atrocious. The acted like we were not "good enough" to have our photos taken there. We had 3 generations and several children under 5 and babies. We didn't want individual photos but just one of each family and one of the entire extended family. So we ended the photoshoot after about 40 minutes. We did not want to take any more photos--how complicated is that? But they just could not accept it. After we waited around 15 minutes to actually view the photos, the photographer brought the manager (I presume he was the manager because he did not bother to introduce himself) to lecture us about how they are a "full service studio" and we had not finished our photo shoot and that's not what they do there yadda yadda yadda. "Full service"! ha! service means doing what we want since we are paying for it. At this point more than 75% of the family members were waiting at a local restaurant having left the photo studio and the manager tried to tell us that we had to get them to come back and finish the photo shoot. I wonder if perhaps the corporate office is like holding the manager's first born hostage if he doesn't take 1000 poses with everyone. I am not sure, it was crazy. Finally after several members of my family who were remaining interrupted him to tell him we would not be talking any more photos he relented. We actually debated leaving right then and not buying any photos, but it is so hard to get everyone (18 people) together at one time that we ended up buying some anyway. I will never ever return to this business ever again, and this is the first time I have ever written an online review because it was just so horrible that I hope someone sees this and and saves themselves the trouble. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME at Portrait Innovations, they don't want your business unless you are willing to spend $300. If you have $300 you can probably book a professional for less hectic experience more

I had heard about Portrait innovations from friends and finally decided to schedule a time to get some family pictures. All I have to say is...Amazing! Our photographer was fantastic! He was very funny and was a perfect match with a busy 2 year old and our 3 month old baby girl...we walked out with so many amazing pictures. I have never seen someone work so well with children to get them to cooperate and even laugh. I was exhausted just watching the photographer work so hard to get my children to laugh. The hardest part of it all was trying to figure out what pictures to get rid of out of the 70 some different pictures they took. We actually walked out with a ton of different pictures for less than what we had spent at other places in the past. I knew that my friends loved it but I didn't know it was going to be such an amazing experience... We had scheduled our appointment time on a Saturday and were a bit surprised at how busy it was. Once in the one of the two camera rooms they have we obviously figured out really quick why they were so busy....If you want amazing pictures and a really fun experience then this place is a must! We will never go anywhere else. more

I showed up for my appointment 5 minutes early, only to find a lobby FULL of people waiting for their appointments. After waiting 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time I asked and was told it would be another 20-30 minutes before we could even get our pictures taken. Than there was the 1 hour wait to get the pictures developed. NO THANKS. When greed over-rides your obligation to the customer you lose business. Whats the point in scheduling an appointment when you overbook to such a ridiculous level that you can't possibly keep up with the schedule. more

This place is Great!!! They are new to Lansing, but alot of stores in other states. They don't do your stand still pictures, they walk around and take pictures with a camera. Then you get your pictures in 15 minutes. They must of taken 60 shots of my granddaughter they were great. Great pictures, turned out alot better then Walmart and places like that. I know this place isn't in Mount Pleasant, but my daughter went there yesterday in Lansing to get my grand daughters picture taken,, Great place, they take pictures with a camera. Not set-up stuff like WalMart and places like that. This is their first shop in the state of Michigan in other states. Running a special right now 43 pictures for 9/96 holiday package. Great backgrounds all kinds. You get the pictures in 15 minutes not 3 weeks later like someplaces. Great pictures, turn out really nice. more
