Horror Story\r I have a friend that went to this place just yesterday. They rushed through the shellac process and the polish kept splitting. My friend continued to say something to the technician, but the tech kept indicating another coat of polish would work. Well, it didn't. The nail polish looked horrible - as if a child did it with their feet. At that point my friend told the tech to remove the polish and was left with bare nails with remnants of polish on the nails AND on her fingers.\r \r When it was time to pay they STILL wanted to charge for a manicure!! My friend was going to pay them for a polish removal but the owner insisted on charging her for a manicure and threatened to call the police if my friend didn't pay. My friend, not being the type to cause trouble, paid for the manicure and left the establishment.\r \r I would NOT recommend this horrible, inferior, ridiculous place to anyone -- even an enemy! Terrible service, terrible customer service, terrible attitude.\r \r Maybe they need to change the name of the shop to the THREE TERRIBLES. more

I'm 9 months pregnant and went here for a spa pedicure, mostly just for the leg and foot massage. The pedicurist refused to massage me at all because I am pregnant saying it could cause me to go into labor. While I understand her concern, I told her I was full term and it would be okay and you have to push exact pressure points on the ankles anyways, yet she still refused. This is my third child and I have had many pedicures while pregnant and always been massaged with no problems (which I told her). Still she would not do it. And to top it off, I was charged full price and the pedicure itself was mediocre. So I would most definitely not be going back again. more

Love Portlands Hottest Nails 10/27/2010

I have been a customer of Portland's Hottest Nails for more then two years now. They always greet you as soon as you walk in the door. I always specifically have my mani/pedi's waxing, and my newest addition ""eye lashes"" done by DeAnne. She is very warm and welcoming and easy to talk too. Portland's Hottest Nails -- that says it all! 5/19/2010

I've been a customer for over three years and could not be happier with the service. If I suddenly decide it's a good day for a mani/pedi, I can usually get an appointment the same day (I prefer the same technician). Walk-ins are no problem. The staff is genuinely friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Great place to chill and pamper yourself. Pros: Quality services at a reasonable price more

I LOVE this place! (after over 15 years...) 4/8/2010

I have been frequenting Portland's Hottest Nails for more than 15 years... I had been to other nail techs & shops previous to that, but once in this door, never considered going anywhere else. I send all my friends here. The skill level is very high, and my nails always last for weeks. Previously they would lift or break or grow out with noticeable bumps at the grow-out line... since coming here, my nails are sophisticated looking, the grow-out is amazingly smooth, and any of the very few times I've needed a repair, I am served swiftly and efficiently with a smile. I can go 3 or 4 weeks between fills if I need to... (though I would not recommend it for optimal beauty : ) I LOVE the whole bunch!!! They have a standard, and they keep it high. Good service; fair pricing 3/5/2010

I've been going to Portland's Hottest Nails for over a year. My husband has been, too, several times. Although I generally make my appointments with Deanne (who's fabulous!) we've always been treated fairly and with friendly service from all the staff. When I've asked questions about a process or a price, I've been answered directly. I'm wondering if DancingButterfly has this salon confused with another. Or if DancingButterfly is just confused -- as I've never heard of any acrylic or solar nails lasting six months -- one's own nails would have grown out entirely by then. I do agree with DancingButterly on this issue: be informed -- good advice in general. And I would add, don't be afraid to ask questions. more

referring to dancingbutterfly: i personally suppose you dont know much about the business. there is a different between regular acrylics and solar nails, but obviously you dont have an idea of its significance. yes solar nails has a process dealing with powdered and yet also does acrylics. they both require powder. so where ever you are going that tells you acrylics dont need powder is wrong. in my opinion, the process of getting complete with a set depends on the nail tech themselves. i have tried many different nail techs, and their speed varies. and no artificial nails of any kind that will last six months. even a kid will know that theory. portland's hottest nails dont cheat anyone, they charge by what they can offer and give out the best experience a client asks for. maybe you're just confused about what you wanted and make a wrong judgment. they tell the truth and advice in which a professional nail tech would do in order to satisfy the client's needs. and for whom is supporting portlands hottest nails, that is very appreciative. more

BAD Nail Salon 2/18/2010

I used to go to this place for solar nails. I didn't know any better. Came to find out that they were not really giving me a solar nail, although they were charging me for it which is very expensive. They were just giving me just a regular acrylics, and telling me it was solar nails. Cheaters, in my opinion. I've been going to this new salon, who actually showed me what a solar nail is. Solar nail takes along process, there's powder involved, there's scraping, drilling and buffing involved. My solar nail now usually lasts me six months. At Portland Hottest, my nail only lasted two or three weeks. more

BEST MANICURES AND PEDICURES IN PORTLAND!!! 3/2/2009

After trying many other salons in the Portland area, a friend recommended Portland's Hottest Nails. I have been a customer for over ten years and have recommended them to everyone that has admired my solar nails. Deanne is the best and always remembers exactly how I like my nails done. She finally talked me into getting a pedicure after years of doing my own and now I'm hooked. I love the pampering and the heated chairs with massage are amazing! PHN's pedicures allow me to show my feet in public! 1/20/2009

Portland Hottest Nails Rocks. I have been a rather faithful customer since 2001. I have always been treated with the utmost respect and kindness. In return, I get nails that are perfect! The polish lasts for forever on my toes! I wear sandals constantly during the spring/summer/fall, and am very hard on my feet. Sure every once in a while you have to wait, ten minutes tops. Keep in mind if they are late getting to you that maybe the appointment before you was late, or the customer had more requests than they stated. Poor customer service 12/1/2008

Customer service ... has gone rock bottom! I've been stewing on this for months after being a long time customer since 1997. Scheduled a pedi for myself and a friend July 5th. Had called the day before to schedule time, etc. When we arrived at the appointed time (when they opened) we could tell that 1/2 of the pedi chairs were filled, they were short staffed ... intentionally. A Great Place Gone Down Hill! 6/16/2008

I have been going here for over 10 years and have always had a great experience. I will not go back again! The last two times, there were new techs, did not spend the time nor had the experience. Their rates have gone up but the final straw was 6/15/2008 where I noticed chairs lined up on both sides leaving no space to walk, poor service, AND they removed the drying booth. Forget it!!! Greed and a factory like atmosphere does not cut it Too Bad Soo Sad. Too many other great places. Anyone have any recos for Pedicures? Cons: No drying booth, poor customer service, inexperienced techs, Staff sitting around getting pedicures while givving patrons new inexperienced ones! more

poor results and service 6/15/2008

I chose this spot because of the good reviews and took a party of four. We won't ever go back. We had reservations and they were able to get us in right away though it was busy but, then we sat and waited for someone to do the pedicure. After they were done, they rushed us out, not even giving us time for our nails to dry. And, one day later the polish is already worn off on the ends of the toes. The woman sitting next to me commented that she had been there ""forever."" In the middle of her pedicure, the person doing it had got up and walked away to do someone elses and left her sitting. After 15 mins or so, she finally asked that someone come to finish hers. It was not a pleasant relaxing atmosphere or experience. There are too many places to chosein this city. Portland's hottest nails is one of the best salons in the city! 3/27/2008

The people here are outstanding, they remember you and what you like or need. The atmosphere is very much like a family with the staff paying attention to doing a great job while you are having either a manicure or pedicure. I love the fact that they make both men and women feel very welcome and give both the same attentive service. I have been a customer for over five years and keep going back. Great Nail Salon with Great Prices 8/1/2007

I have been going here for at least 3-4 years for pedicures and manicures. I went elsewhere once with a friend and paid nearly twice as much for a pedicure and it wasn't anywhere close to being as good a pedicure as PHN does. Best NE spot for pedicure-manicure 1/19/2006

I've been going to this place for about 3 years, and the best part is the employees! If you take the time to get to know them, you'll find out they are lovely people! I also love the spa pedicure -- so relaxing! And everyone does a very meticulous job. My pedicures lost forever! One of my favorite nail technician is Sue. p.s. Great Pedicures 3/7/2005

I've gone to quite a few places around town and by and far I'm most impressed with Portland's Hottest. Heated and massaging chairs, great attention to your feet and calves (with good massages) and the nails look awesome. Parking can be a challenge, but there is an above the store lot that a lot of folks don't know about. Just drive up the ramp just to the west of the store and there's plenty of parking.
