Three bites into my thin crust pizza I bit into a metal staple embedded in the cheese. I took pictures, emailed grubhub, and threw away all of the food in my order (we're not going to bite into other pizzas that might include hidden metal). An hour later, got a call from the manager. He actually tried to convince me to accept a credit instead of a refund (why would I reorder food from a place that almost tore up my stomach?). After a day of communicating, I was issued a full refund. more

Racist/Rude Manager 3/25/2012

HORRIBLE. not sure if it was because we was black or because we was gay. Either way we wont be going back. It was a nice spring night so we noticed it was a resturant you could sit out doors. We walked up and the waiter asked us would we like to sit in or out side..We say outside. The manager comes and says sorry the outside is closed. Mind you there are many people outside. Siting and eating there food. But we say ok and proceed to walk in he seats us at the back of the resturant. Doesn't say anything didnt offer us water nothing. We sat for about 10mins and no one comes and waits on us. They weren't even busy. So we got up and walked out!!! more

Windy City Pizza Club Visits Pizano's 2/7/2011

When it comes to Deep Dish Chicago Pizza, Pizano?s isn?t what you need to satisfy your palette. Their pizzas are big, they?re average tasting, but their service is lacking and the cheese and sauce combined were much too heavy. Most recently, the Windy City Pizza Club met there for their monthly meeting, and to many it was disappointing. According to the Oprah Winfrey show, Pizano?s has the best thin crust pizzas in the city and one of the top in the nation, and while the Deep Dish was just okay, their thin crust wasn?t much better as it has a very ?warmed up in a microwave? taste. After hearing so many great reviews from A-List celebrities, and friends, I came to the conclusion that this pizza was not for me. Their location in the loop was roomy and warm on a snowy and frigid Chicago winter?s night, but their presence of service for a group of 15 people was lacking and unacceptable for a place that prides itself of spectacular Chicago pizza. Pizano?s was opened in 1991 Rudy Malnati, Junior and features three locations: State Street, Loop, and Glenview, each with it?s own unique look and feel. The loop location where the Pizza Club met was 2 stories with a private room and bar in the roomy basement. If you were a true Chicago pizza fan, you would know the family that owns this establishment. Rudy?s father, Rudy, Sr. is the founder of Pizzeria Uno & Due. Rudy Jr.?s, brother is Lou Malnati, founder of Lou Malnati?s Pizzeria. According to the Pizano?s website, a good raised bread dough tones the crust. In our experience with the crust, it was extremely hard. They use High-grade canned tomatoes and of mozzarella cheese, topped with a sprinkling of grated Parmesan and oregano to complete the basic pizza. It sounded good, but the biggest issue was that they use too much of each item. The actual wait time for pizza was no longer than 20 minutes, so if you are in a rush and want an average pizza with a lot of history, this is a good place. Anchovies, onions or green pepper are other optional additions. I did enjoy a tossed salad, which was fairly large and nicely priced. All of the prices that Pizano?s offers, are out-of-date and expensive for what the quality, but items are large so you could technically say you are getting your money?s worth. I would possibly go back, but not with a group. more

Best Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza in City! 9/22/2010

They have the best thin crust pizza in the city! Their pan pizza is also great. I don't know what they put in the sauce but it keeps me coming back. Their pepperoni has just the right amount of heat without taking away from the taste. My husband and I always share the Caesar Salad and a medium pepperoni and mushroom thin crust pizza. We struggle to finish both items but manage somehow every time. more

Best thin crust in Chicago, hands down. Delivery usually takes about an hour, but its well worth the wait. more

Pizza! 4/25/2008

Visited this restaurant after hearing about it on Oprah, and it did not dissapoint. Went two nights in a row! Didn't try the deep dish but the thin crust pizza was very delicious. Service was a bit slow but they were quite busy...can't wait to try the other locations! Pros: food, value for the food Cons: service more

horriable service 3/26/2008

The manager was not helpful at all. I have a new born child and she still is in her car seat in her stoller and i wanted to dine in with my sister and my new born child. My sister has a 4 year old and she was in her stroller too. The resturant has a revolving door and a regular door. My sister went in and she tried to get her stroller through the revolving door because the regular door was lock. The stroller got stuck and after awhile a person dinning in the resturant and my sister finally free it. I was waiting outside for the regular door to get unlock and the manager came outside and said he refuses to open the door so you have to fold your stroller up and go threw the revolving door. Now anyone that has a newborn knows how difficult that can be. My sister was still in the resturant and she had to fold up the stroller and carry it through the revolving door as the manager was watching her and didin't even help. I felt the regular door should have been accessible to us but he did not want to unlock it for us. That was the worst service I have ever expierance. I would never go there again because of the rudeness everone was giving. So if you have kids i would reconsider and if you don't i would hope there was not a fire because there is only one exit that is accessible. Cons: rude managers more

Discriminatory restaurant - please do not patronize 12/23/2007

I wish that I could say that I am writing a review on the quality of the restaurant. However, my family never got the opportunity to even dine here. After taking in the windows at Macy's, my family walked over to Pizano's to grab some lunch. The restaurant has a revolving door as well as a traditional door. My husband took my daughter through the revolving door to open the door for me, as we had my 6 month old sleeping in the stroller. He was told that he was not allowed to open the door and that we had to take my son out of the stroller and fold it up and try to get through the revolving door. But let's be honest, this is a pizza place. At its essence, it should be family friendly. I urge you not to patronize this restaurant. I?ve never been so offended when dining before. more
