Great breakfast, even better service 7/13/2010

This little place in Greenwood is a real jewel. Pete and his family seem to know every customer of their amazing breakfast restaurant and that is because they keep coming back for more. Great service, always friendly and fast. They usually have a line outside and Pete will frequently bring orange juice for the people waiting in line. The dining room is not very fancy but it is always packed. If you eat there you'll see why... Seattle has to offer many good breakfast restaurants but this is hands down the very best. Outstanding in every aspect. Egg lovers rejoyce!!! Pros: Eggs benedict poetry Cons: I challenge you to find any more

Simply breakfast and lunch 1/19/2010

I stumbled upon the Greenwood staple, Pete's Egg Nest a couple years ago. I figured they must be doing something right if there is always a line out the door on the weekends. And, I was right. There are probably 20 different scrambles/omelets to choose from (my favorite: Athenian Greek Scramble with pita bread), basic pancake, french toast and breakfast specials and if you feel like lunch - turn the menu over and enjoy one of their sandwiches, salads, soups or burgers. I find myself craving Pete's every Tuesday for lunch. It's a great spot to reflect on projects for the rest of the week, and to wind down after a crazy morning. This quaint, family-owned and extremely family-friendly restaurant will leave your tummy full and your mouth smiling. Pros: Family friendly, neighborhood eatery more

Voula is a Sweetheart! 11/30/2009

My wife and I found this quiet little restaurant while enrolling our daughter into Greenwood Elementary in 2008. We came from Las Vegas and were very surprised when we noticed that this hole in the wall was a restaurant that was some of the best breakfast we had had since leaving the overcrowded Vegas breakfast life. It was small and friendly. Voula welcomed us with a smile and delivered on what she offered to be the breakfast in the area. Thanks for all you have done. we continue to frequent this breakfast nook just to see the friendly staff and enjoy great comfort although we have moved almost an hour away. more

Small neighbood diner with depth at breakfast. No refills offered. 5/11/2008

After reading reviews, I decided to try Pete's Egg Nest. In the Greenwood area down the street from Wing Dome, lies this small diner with about 11-12 tables. Closing at 3pm on Sundays, I dropped by at 2 to get past the rush and after church business to have a nice breakfast. Pros: Variety of food Cons: Lack of seasoning and waitresses didn't offer refills on coffee or water. more

Pete's is the best for breakfast - especially the bacon! 4/28/2008

We used to live just around the corner and ate at Pete's every weekend. The large portions made for two or more meals and we actually ate the leftovers, rare for us. I love the special french toast like banana walnut. My boyfriend loves the meat and cheese scramble, which is crazy because he ordinarily doesn't like eggs. But what really got me hooked was when they asked me how I wanted my bacon cooked. I love extra crispy bacon but my boyfriend likes limp bacon so it was great to find a restaurant that understands and makes this accommodation. And the bacon is thick cut so even when crispy it's flavorful. Mmmm, bacon. Pros: bacon! large portions Cons: parking, crowded on weekends more

best breakfast in town 9/30/2006

Pete's is the greatest. Best food, largest menu, biggest plates and the most friendly staff. Their specials are unbelievable. If you have not been here you have to go. This is THE place I always bring anyone from out of town. Pros: everythin! I can't say one bad thing Cons: nothing more

Nothing beats Pete's 7/11/2006

Hands down, Pete's is the best breakfast spot in Seattle! I've dined at a mojority of the recommended eateries in the city and Pete's take the cake. The service is fantastic, and unlike one of the previous reviews, I found that they are very accomodating to customers. Once (out of the DOZENS of times I've dined there) they forgot to add sausage to my omelette. When I politely informed them, they not only fixed it right away, but gave me the other one on the house to take home for leftovers. Pros: Diverse menu, great service, great value Cons: small dining quarters more

great breakfast joint!! 2/18/2006

One of the best breakfasts in Seattle! What a value..My pesto omellete was un believable as were my girlfriends gigantic, perfectly cooked pancakes. And at baragain prices you just cant go wrong! Pros: food, price, service more

Going here has beco a reward for me 10/29/2005

Pete's Egg Nest may seem at first to have a fairly standard menu. Look again... Their specials are unbelievable and cooked with such care and concern for flavor. I love the family-run aspect of this restaurant, which itself is quite unassuming in appearance. Service here is great for how busy it is and the staff are always friendly and provide a sense of energy. I can't emphasize enough how delicious the food is. The Athenian Greek Scramble is a party for my taste-buds. Pros: Great Food, Family Run, Original Cons: Busy more

fantastic 6/4/2004

i love this place! this family run joint is great. they remeber your name, what you order, even how you like the bacon cooked. they have large portions, cheap prices, great service, and the best bacon ive had at a breakfast place, you can order it crispy, rare, however you like it. its a small place on greenwood where you will go back again and again as long as the line isnt too big. go to petes! Pros: inexpensive, great bacon, great service more

Pete's is great!!! 5/19/2004

That last reviewer must have been having a bad day. I eat there all the time and have NEVER had anything but a great experience. Sure they are always busy so they may not have time to chit chat, but the food is fast and always good and the portions are huge. You will not leave hungry. Personally, I like to support small family run businesses as there are not that many left. Pros: inexpensive, friendly, good food more

I'd Rather Go Hungry... 11/11/2002

than eat at Pete's Egg Nest, where the rude, slow service and the horrible food made me leave hungry. The waitress was unapologetic when my ""omelette"" (you could hardly call it that) came back to me incorrectly made for the THIRD time. I was still charged for the food, and had to argue with a manager to get it removed. I will never go back to Pete's Egg Nest. It was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Cons: Bad Food, Bad Service more

Great Inexpensive Breakfast 10/5/2002

One of my favorite neighborhood breakfast places! The service is usually prompt, and the food is always good. The portions are large, and the bill will be cheap. Many local residents are ""regulars"" here, and if you are from the neighborhood, you will likely see someone you know. Pros: Good Food, Prompt Service Cons: Decor more

try it! 8/22/2002

This is my favorite cheap breakfast place in town. I'm not usually a big fan of hash browns, but you should try them here -- they're very good. more
