Been with them for 18 years. Have had some differences of opinion. But, they've done a pretty good job at DCHA. For the huge number of addresses Kay has under management, a few people will inevitably be dissatisfied. Unhappy people tend to post things. The 'silent majority' tends to be satisfied, and tends to post nothing. - Page more

Personal Touch Management is HORRIBLE - do NOT recommend!! They set up a contract with a snow removal company that comes out between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. to start their bobcat and remove snow. In fact, we had maybe one inch of snow tonight and sure enough, once again, the bobcat was plowing driveways at 3 a.m. I can still hear him down the street. I have contacted Personal Touch numerous times and they don't do anything. We are treated like renters rather than homeowners. Our HOA dues continue to increase each year but for what?! I'm agreeing with another person who wrote a post that I will never live in another association neighborhood again. The landscape contractors don't replace dead shrubs. Oh yes, and Personal Touch also allows this landscaping/snow removal company to take up two guest parking spots for about 5 months every year so they can plug-in their bobcats in order to wake people up in the middle of the night. But if you are actually a homeowner and live here, your vehicle gets towed if you part in he ""guest parking."" Wake up Personal Touch Property Management - it's called ""Guest Parking"" not ""snowplow parking."" more

Ineffective 12/31/2011

I agree with other posters here regarding the ineptitude of this management company. I have only had contact with one woman from the company, Kay. Initially I was led to believe that she was very concerned about the repair needing to be done at my townhome. She sent a couple of contractors who did not find/fix the issue. And then just started ignoring my calls completely. It has come to the point where I am looking into legal help to resolve what should have been a fairly simple repair here. If the housing market were different I would get out of here just so I would not have to spend so much time and frustration trying to get them to DO THEIR JOB!\r And this is one maintenance issue is the only thing I have asked them to take care of since I have lived here. As this association development ages, there will only be more elements needing to be repaired/replaced. I don't see this company as being capable of dealing with homeowners and hope they will be replaced with a capable property management company. more

Out of Touch is more like it!! 6/9/2011

I have had several maintenance issues while living in my townhome and have had to literally fight and argue with them over things that they were supposed to be doing. Like the ice dams that we had on our roof this year. I told them they need to come out and get rid of them since we started to get leaking in our unit. They said that they had already come out once this year and removed snow from the rooftops. Ok, maybe some years once is enough but when you have a record setting year, I don't think so. That was not the issue though. There were 1 to 1 and a half foot ice dams on the roof and we were starting to get a leak into the unit. We told them we were going to get some out to do it ourselves since they didn't want to take care of it. They proceeded to tell us we could not do that and it was a common area covered by the association, AH... duh that is what we had been telling you. Of course it wasn't going to effect them but it could damage our unit and our insurance also told us if the damage we receive in our unit was caused by the roof issues, they would not be liable and would not cover it. I also told them that pretty much every unit had ice dams and I was sure they would have issues if they weren't already. They proceeded to tell us that there were other units having problems with leaking but related it to the new roof we had installed on the units. Finally after hours (pretty much 2 days and close to 12 hours) of back and forth they sent some out to do our unit and did only the other units that complained, but did not do any other units. How ridicules!!! Why not do all the units at once so they wouldn't have to pay a company to come out and do the work more than once. This is just one of the many experiences that I have had with this company. Needless to say they are very unprofessional and difficult to work with. Sad SAD SADDD!!! more

Horrible Management Company 12/27/2010

They ignore inquiries and maintenance issues. If you have an option go somewhere else. more

COULDN'T BE HAPPIER WITH THEM! 11/19/2010

Our association switched to this company a little over one year ago. They were able to lower our costs immediately (our prior Management Company told us that we needed to raise our dues at least 20% to stay viable, and in order pay their outrageous management fees which went up, again). Personal Touch does not raise their management fees every year, in fact our dues can go down again this year! They found things that were costing us money - thousands of dollars a year - and fixed them immediately. They have saved us in legal fees as well by switching from our old attorneys that did nothing to new attorneys that have saved us over $10K per year in legal costs. They watch our bills for us and notice any discrepancy in them and act to fix the problems while they are little molehills before they become mountains to move. They have pointed out the things we have to change to be a more desirable community, which no other management company has done. I can't believe how great they are! We have people who actually WANT to attend our meetings because they are happy with things and want to suggest more things because they know that this company will act on what we want, or if the suggestions are not viable, they will find an alternative that makes everyone happy. In short, they are working to increase the value of our properties for us. How many associations can say that their management company is doing that proactively? more

VERY DISSATISFIED 8/26/2010

We have lived in a development that this ""company"", and I use that term loosely, manages-or at least takes our money and pretends to manage-for the past 4 years. We have had nothing but problems from the very beginning. The first time we met our neighbors, the property management company was at the forefront of the conversation. They are absolutely terrible and I have an entire neighborhood of 20 + houses who all feel the same way. We have tried, with no success unfortunately, as a community to have them fired as our property management providers. There are so many things I would like to say about Personal Touch Property Management's ONE contact listed, but all I will say is don't even bother to contact them. It is a waste of your time. Seek legal help right away if you ever experience a problem-which you most definitely will if you have anything to do with this company. Our current problem, one of many I assure you, is that this company has quit providing service, claiming there are past due bills-WHICH THERE ARE NOT! They will not give any information pertaining to when the alleged debts accrued and I have bank statements showing the deposits of my monthly association dues for the past three years. We did not receive anything in writing informing us of a debt, they just stopped garbage service. They have refused to provide written documentation showing missed payments or how they have come up with this magic number they say we owe. We now have to expend our own time, money and energy to fight this completely bogus battle. We will never again live in an association maintained development because of the sour taste the last four years has put in our mouths. We will also never again buy from the builder who allows this nonsense to continue in their housing developments. more

Don't believe disaffected reviewers 4/2/2010

Readers should not place too much stock in the couple of negative reviews here. As an association board member, I worked closely with Personal Touch for three years. I found them to be professional, effective property managers. Association members who don't understand the nature of community living and the roles and responsibilities of community members and the management company frequently are disaffected when the property manager has to come down hard. Similarly, vendors who don't perform, or who don't perform to spec, will also complain. But that's why associations hire property managers--so the individual board members don't have to get their hands dirty with assoc members who can't play by the rules or vendors who can't perform to contract. Pros: Excellent property managers more

Worst of the worst - Unprofessional 1/27/2010

If I could select less than 1 star I would. They treat me, a home owner in the association they represent, like a criminal or like they are a collection agency and I have nor been paying my bills, or like I'm inconveniencing them. This is what we (WHAT I) pay for! They need to understand they work for me!! I am an owner in the association making me part of it. They are NOT there to govern and dictate they are there to help manage. They don't appear to understand this and run their business like it's a second job for someone. Like it's run out of some lady's basement 2 days a week. The web site (ptouch. net) it so generic and ugly it looks like it was done in something like MS Word. My little nephew has enough skills to do a better job than that. This should be one clue as to the competency and professionalism you will get from Personal Touch Management. This is my first experience with an association but in the 8+ years I have never had anything positive come from them. It feels to me like they just want to get paid and not do any work, or at least put forth the littlest amount they have to. Many of my friends live in areas that have an association and of course they all have negative things to say about them. This is just part of the association woes. But none have really been as bad as this company. However they have been a bit more professional and had a better run operation. They at least have an idea who the residents are and the board is more in charge. With Personal Touch they are just.... Unprofessional. I would whole hardheartedly agree with the previous. DO NOT use personal Touch Management as your association management agency. Cons: Unprofessional more

Please......... Find someone else to manage your money......because, remember it's yours!!!!!! 11/16/2008

This company was just a nuisance to work for! The association we performed work for was excellent, however when it came time to get paid this company made it not only difficult for us but also for the association they represent. Wish I could name (names), but I'm not sure I can. However, Personal Touch Management was the worst that I have seen in my 13 years of running a business. The owner and employees were heartless, not only to us but the town homes they represented. This included two bad checks (Pers. Touch's fault), repeated calls to members on the board with their own problems (that really liked us and wanted us to get paid), to resorting to having a check couriered to us. PLEASE, DON'T make the mistake and use this company. more
