Best

I've been in the food industry for 12 years and multiple cities; this is the stuff! All of the brunch items are stellar but the corned beef hash is my favorite. Owner run and fr...

We were really hopeful when we happened across Persimmon in Fremont. The restaurant is warm and welcoming and the staff friendly. Too bad the food is overpriced, portions small ...

Dinner too! 4/18/2005

I don't know about Persimmon for brunch, but their dinner is delicious - very tasty, slightly unusual combinations. If it weren't in Fremont I'd be there weekly! more

Excellent quality food, nice atmosphere 10/10/2004

Although I wouldn't say this restaurant is particularly family friendly, we did manage to fit our double stroller in behind the diner and enjoy a lunch for two. We ordered the Vegan Hash with two poached eggs and the Vegan Sandwich with tabouleh on the side and they were both delicious (sandwiches are served on Essential Baking bread). The sandwich had a heavenly white bean spread on it and roasted asparagus + eggplant among other delicious ingredients. The bathroom is clean + spacious but there is no change table. Plenty of room to change the kids on the floor with a change pad and some flexibility. They have a handful of large table (for up to six I suppose), a counter with benches, and a couple of smaller tables. No espresso, only drip - boo hoo. And tea but no milk - another small disappointment (tea with CREAM???). more

Worth it for the BLT 10/4/2004

Though the cooking time seemed a bit excessive, I had one of the most memorable and delish BLT's at Persimmon. They used Niman Ranch bacon (good to feel good about your pork source), delish sour dough bread, fresh tomatoes and some sort of aioli to top if off. It was worth the wait and I suspect other things on their concise menu will be delish too. Recently they extended their hours for dinner- worth stopping by. more

Simply charming 7/29/2004

This sweet little restaurant is perfect for a weekend brunch. The food is simple, hinting at French cuisine, and is oh-so-good (made with local produce and organic ingredients where possible). The front room is painted a perfectly inviting persimmon that partners wonderfully with the warm and friendly staff. more

Persimmon 7/11/2004

Owners Sarah and Tim have put in time at other restaurants around town and now have their own place in upper Fremont. (The restaurant is a block or so above Brad's Swingside and 1/2 block above Paseo.) The small but cozy place features a lunch counter that is cool to sit at if you are dining alone and shared tables elsewhere in the restaurant. What stands out with Persimmon is the thought that goes into getting just the right flavor even in something as seemingly simple as a turkey sandwich. Brunches on weekends can get hectic as more people are discovering this place – but even if you have to wait a few minutes it's worth it. They started serving dinner in June. more
