Dr Gower was extremely professional and thorough. My son needed emergancy help and she expedited the surgery and covered every possible issue that could have arose.

Horrible service. Waited for over an hour. Dr. Herrmann acted like his time was more important than ours. Very disrespectful! more

I have seen both dr hermann and dr thompson for my children. They are intelligent, thoughtful, kind and empathetic. I could not recommend them more highly! more

Dont go to Dr. Gower 1/3/2011

Dr. Verlia Gower of Pediatric Ear, Nose & Throat of Atlanta, P.C. is the worst doctor of any kind that I have ever encountered. She was cold, rude and very condescending to me and my child. The fact that she is a pediatrician and deals with kids is appalling! 1st of all, she never spoke to or addressed my 2 yr old child (this set a bad tone for the entire visit). She never made him feel comfortable when she was examined him (we all know that little kids don’t like to be poked & examined). She never said anything calming or soothing as I had to hold my child down from screaming while she was examining him. Her nurse even came into the room in an attempt to hold him down but she never stopped to comfort him at all. Secondly, my child has seen several doctors, been to the emergency room & has been evaluated by 3 speech therapists for multiple ear infections & speech delay due to the infections. They are all saying the same thing about my child (due to multiple ear infections, the fluid behind his ears has caused him to be delayed in his speech). All of his other development levels are fine but his speech is severely delayed (his speech is said to be that of a 9-12 months old) and this is because he CAN NOT hear words clearly. Despite the same diagnosis from multiple sources, Dr Gower literally said to me, “they are all wrong and I am the only person who has the courage to tell you the truth.” She said that my child doesn't have a hearing problem regarding his multiple ear infections and she can tell that by looking in his ears. She simply said he is a slow speaker. I am not insinuating that my child is deaf but the way it was explained to me is that when children have ear infections or even fluid in the middle ear that isn’t affected, it is as if they are under water and trying to hear what people are saying outside of the water. I was also told that when my son took the audiology test that he didn’t have an ear infection and therefore could not duplicate his hearing loss problem. That did not mean that ear more

doesn't do what they say 12/9/2010

I took my son for a consiltation with Dr. Herrmann for possibly removing his tonsils due to strep throat. He was nice and friendly, but when I asked him to look at the info. that my son's dr. faxed over, the info. was not in my son's chart. The Dr. said that it may be at the main office and just didn't get intothe chart yet, Red flag for me. Second, the dr. told me that he would send his strep test to the lab for results after getting another positive rapid strep test and he never did. I believe that me son is a strep carrier and the antibotics that he prescribed didn't work and was probably unnescessary, but will never know because it never made it to the lab. I am very upset and will not use this dr. They must be very disorganized! more

Billing 10/29/2010

Has anyone had a problem with being charged for an office visit that should have been included in the surgery charge? I noticed that "Quest" had the same problem. Quest if you would please let me know the outcome of what happened to you as well. more

horrible experience 9/23/2010

Dr. gower was rude and condescending. Had a sleep study schedueld and they canceled my appointment when they found a possible problem with my insurance instead of calling me to see if it could be resolved. BCBS asked for a copy of the medical record to pay the bill and they never submitted nor ever even called bcbs to see why. Now, they are billing me despite my numerous attempts to remind them that I can't submit the medical record. more

Horrible experience. Dr Gower was rude and condensending. Then, bcbs request a copy of my daughters records before they paid the bill and their office staff kept calling me about the bill and never followed up with bcbs. Now, they are sying the bill is my responsibility even though they never sent in the records nor even called bcbs. more

Watch Your Bill Carefully 11/30/2009

The Pediatric ENT of Atlanta office staff is very inefficient and unprofessional. Expect big delays during visits, having to catch and correct their errors (billing, surgery schedules, medications, etc.), and being treated like you are a nuisance. We were even refused follow ups within 10 days of either of our children's surgeries, just so they could bill us extravagent charges for hearing tests that were not even performed. The rubber really meets the road when you start to ask questions. Be prepared to be bullied. Even if you have a legitimate concern, as we did, do not expect them to respond with anything other than, when are you going to submit payment. This office appears to be focused on making money and not on making childrern healthy. more

A great Pediatric ENT 8/6/2005

I have been through quite a few Pediatric ENTs and I can honestly say that this is the best practice in Atlanta. There are about six different locations around Atlanta and the doctors rotate thorugh the locations. Dr. Gower is thorough and compassionate and takes care of my children as if they were her own. They have audiologists on site and you have instant results. more
