Definitely Roccomend 2/3/2012

Always has quality dog foods but can sometimes be a little off on keeping the same flavor stocked in a certain line. Also sometimes difficult to put together a full case of canned pure pumpkin. All in all consistent, knowledgeable and helpful (the younger gal can be a bit ""uninterested"" at best favoring watching t.v.). Far better than the large chains or Mud Bay where I've never found anyone who knew anything about what they were selling. more

I have never been to a pet store that is so knowledgeable and cares so much about my furry family members. You walk in and instantly feel welcome not only by the ladies at the counter but also by the cutest four legged greeter Trip. I have had my dogs and cats groomed by both Kathy and Jordin and I am always so happy with the results. My dogs are always excited to go to horizon and see their friends. I was really surprised to see some of the negative comments about horizon, and everyone i know couldn't disagree more!!!! Pros: great friendly people, alway very knowledgeable more

watch out for the bad groomer 10/20/2009

I have had good experiences here but the last time the groomer (a new one?) shaved off the hair from my standard poodle's ears and tail. I asked what happened and she said the ears were matted and she tried out a new tail style. The dog looks terrible and it will take years for this hair to grow back. This groomer was just plain nasty to me and then asked for more money because of the mats despite the fact that the dog is brushed and groomed regularly. My analysis - this groomer doesn't know what she is doing and is lazy to boot. Stay away or make sure she is not the one grooming your dog. Pros: the store manager is nice and one of the groomers is good Cons: the other groomer is incompetent and arrogant more

Bad Grooming, Customer Service 1/19/2009

I brought my dog in for grooming,, yes she was matted in the rear end,, the groomer told me that she could get it out,, when I picked my dog up 5 hours later, it was shaved down to the skin!!! I asked why she didn't call me to tell me she was going to do this, she told me it was policy to shave a matted dog,,, after two days my dog is still itching and has red marks on her back and belly!!! I will never go there again,,, I found another place in Burien that is way better and the owner is very kind......Nice shop also....... Pros: None to list Cons: Store smells bad more

I wouldn't think of going anywhere else, neither would my four animals 3/4/2008

I have only ever had great experiences in the store. It is not often you go to a pet store and actually have an experience. At Horizon Pet, every visit i get one-hundred and one percent attention and so do my dogs. The staff is VERY knowlegable about all products and I always feel a sence of trust from all staff and groomers. I hightly respect all that work there or i wouldn't continue to go. I have taken three out of four of my animals there and I have always been afraid of taking them to any groomer. The current groomers are magical, my two pugs dont mind going and anywhere else they hated it. more

what a cool place! i asked the groomer to do a blue mohawk on my dog..... AND THEY DID!!!! I WAS SO EXCITED OVER THE MOHAWK I FORGOT TO MENTION...... IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST GROOMS I HAVE EVER HAD!!!. i am soooooo happy. noone else would do this really fun thing. she is awesome. and the lady whos one of the owners is amazing. she helped my poodle over some crazy (owner realted behaviour issues=read, my dogs are crazy cause of me!! its true) tHANKS FOR READING YOU ALL SHOULD GO HERE. Nightmare of a store 8/25/2007

I brought my dog in the morning, it took 6 hours for them to give her a bath! she was so tired, she sleep all night and part of the next day,,,, she has been itching like crazy also.... the store smells BAD!. they are not friendly there like they used to be. I won't take my dog there again.... I complained to the groomers in the back, they said it's takes this long to bath my dog becuase she has so much hair.... first they told me that she would be ready in 2 hours, no one ever called me to let me know it was going to take so long.... When I got her home, she still has mats in her rear end!! I am going to tell everyone about what happened. more

glad i found this groomer shop! 8/20/2007

i am so happy to find a shop like this!! They actually carried my dogs food (timberwolf )in the store and then carried it out for me! what more can an old girl ask for? I scheduled a grooming appt that day for the next weekend and took my little lady poodle in for her bathday! Boy did they do a nice job! i can see her face, (it was So matted) and the groomer very nicely showed me how to brush her on a regular basis so I can take better care of her at home. I thought it was just very sweet of her to do it in a manner that didnt make me feel bad about the matted coat and she DID NOT make me feel like a bad puppy mommie! She even ordered me a great brush that wont hurt my hands when i brush lady! Thank You so much for being the shop your are! thanks again girls! more

Bad Customer service! Poor Grooming 8/9/2007

The new Groomer ""self proclaimed Vet Tech? Cannot groom a Schnauzer, what a terrible haircut, the eye brows were shaved almost off! On my dog... IN ADDITION, I dropped my dog off at 9:00am, he was not ready until 5:00pm! I complained to the Girl at the front desk, she told me that that was the norm, which it takes up to 6 hours because they are so busy! Back there. I personally would not recommend either of their services; there are two other Pets Stores in Burien that treat the customer?s right! I will be shopping there. Cons: need cusomer service 101 and grooming 101 more

what a great store! i just moved to the area and found horizon on city search. i cant agree with the previous negative posts.....they are the nicest people and very honest! i had my lhasa groomed here and it has been the best groom ever!! with all my pups issues, (he has had a few traumatic incidences at other groomers in burien. i felt very comfortable having him groomed here because the groomer is also a vet tech. Pros: a groomer who is a vet tech Cons: my dog peed in the store -sorry :( more

these people know whats going on! I was blown away. They GAVE me a bag of food NOT A SAMPLE!! they actually care about their customers. She had called me two days later to find out how my pup was doing on the food, Solid Gold. 2 months later I cant believe my dog doesnt scratch his foot bloody! I now know that wheat and corn are not good things for your pet. She also told me about putting plain yogurt on my pup's food, when i wasn't ready to add a supplement! My pug LOVES IT!! Hows that for being cool and NOT trying to sell me a bunch of stuff!! They also didnt make me feel bad for feeding purina for all those years! I cant believe there is a store like this! Thanks Horizon You have made me a customer for life!! Pros: Everything!!!! wow more

WORST GROOMING EVER !!! 5/30/2007

I brought my dog in for grooming this month, and he looked like they butchered him,,, My dog never used to look like this in the past, they have new groomers that couldnt cut dogs hair to save thier own lives,,, don't TAKE your dog there for grooming, the old groomer they had was the best,,, I will find him, before I EVER! put my dog through that again. hotizon pet supply has the best and most unique selection 4/25/2007

there are a few pet product places in burien. I will Only shop at Horizon Pets they let me bring my dog in and will even trim his nails!!! this is the way to go.... my dog has wheat and corn allergies and there dog section is WHEAT AND CORN FREE!!! they also pointed out that a lack of salmon oils (omegas) could be part of the dry coat and itchy skin/brittle nails ! yeah!! 2 months later and no itchy skin!! thank you Horizon! Pros: they definitely are PROS!!! Cons: absolutely none more

Horizon Pet Supply has the best food, customer service and they have exchanged my cat food 3 times (he is picky). i will never shop anywhere else again. They have ordered me very hard to find products. i cannot believe or agree with the other review... they are just not like that. Worst Customer Service EVER !!!! 2/26/2007

Rather than being knowlegable and helpful, the staff at Horizon Pet Supply comes across as PUSHY, and just out to make a sale. When I came in the girl behind the computor didn't look up to say hello, when I asked for assistance, she didn't listen to my dogs needs to help me find the best food for my dog. She kept trying to sell me supplements that she claimed would fix any problems, when I needed to find a good food first. IT was a very frustrating exsperiance.
