Best

The best cheesesteak in SOUTH Philly, much better than the Jersey residents and big mouth across the street. Pat's has the best rolls, chopped steak and good quality cheese and...

Worst

Pat's is great (if you're not from Philly). Every neighborhood in Philly has a place that's better than Pat's. Unless, it's 3:00 am or you just want to see some cool autographed p...

I prefer Geno's 6/4/2003

The line for this was long, but so was Geno's. Only difference is that the Geno's line was MOVING. The onions were still raw and the meat was bland and skimpy. The cheese fries were good though. If you want a good cheese steak, go accross the street to Geno's. Pros: good cheese fries Cons: slow moving line, not much seating more

Where's the beef? 5/28/2003

They're tasty, but a little too skimpy on the meat. You have to eat two or three, and at five bucks a pop, that's a bit pricy. Cetrainly NOT the best in Phila. more

WAAAAAAY Overrated 5/21/2003

Pat's Steaks is Waaaaaay Overrated. The only reason people like Pat's is because it's open late when everyone is drunk and has beer munchies. At that point anything tastes good. Jim's Steaks is much better. more

Still The One... 4/27/2003

Wiz Wit, BAM! Happy tastebuds, happy mouth, happy sunday in Philly. Damn, the lines are still long and fun. The PCS is unreal. Everytime I'm in Philly I gotta get some at Pats. Interestingly enough, so do tons of others. There were people from NH, DC, CA, NY, NJ, PA, CT, MD, and this was just the people at my table and the next. You know they are doing something right. I LOVE PATS!!! Pros: Taste, History Cons: Not so clean, long lines more

WOO 3/7/2003

if your trying to get the whole philly experience pats is the place to go! Pros: fast, good, in a good area Cons: cheese whiz more

King Of Steaks 3/7/2003

Hey, At Pat's its all about the atmosphere. Your in southern Philly, mabe after a game or concert. Your there and sure, the people there are kinda rude and they might yell at you if you mess up, but your at Pats, King Of Steaks! Pros: Food Cons: Expensive, Little places to park, crowded more

Best you'll ever have 3/6/2003

I'm from Michigan but have friends in the Philly area. When I visit them, all I want to know is when we're going to Pat's. It's a crappy place and the service is bad, and yes it's very dirty. It's part of the show. Little tiny dive, but man I'm telling you it's the best junk food in the world. I only get them once every couple years but it's worth it. Don't bother with Gino's or anywhere else - they're nowhere near as good. more

grissle 2/11/2003

grissle is what stands out in thinking of pats steaks .avoid this place.it is not best but might enter on worst list. Pros: whole cherry peppers Cons: the steak more

Best cheesesteak and fries 2/8/2003

The line moves quickly here, definitely try the cheese fries, or a cheesesteak with cheez whiz. Pros: Great Food, Fast Service, Good Value Cons: No Indoor Seating more

ech 1/13/2003

Food served like a fire drill Juicy sloppy mess. It's not bad if you enjiy standing outside in the cold with Tomato sauce and Cheez wiz running down your arms. more

No Break Steak 1/13/2003

You can go to any other part of the U.S. and purchase a piece of beef on a steak roll (as long as steak rolls are baked in that part of the country). Traditionally, the finely sliced beef is chopped, on the grill, while it's being cooked. I would sooner go on a diet than eat at Pat's Steaks today. Years ago, IT WAS THE BEST! Not today. Too lazy to chop and no pride in their product. Pros: 24/7 Cons: Meat not chopped more

Gees!! Cheese whiz?? 1/13/2003

I have never liked Pat's steaks!! Too greasy and the service is crazy! Also for a cheesesteak, they use cheese whiz!! Not for me, no way!! Pros: customers are friendl Cons: Kitchen help is obnox more

gristle and grease 1/3/2003

if you like grissle and grease this is the place. the best part of pat's or geno's is that they are open at 3:00 am. Pros: open late Cons: bad meat more

Cheesewhiz is no whiz! 12/30/2002

The cheesewhiz says it all! If you want tradition, take a walking tour of the old city. If you want real food, you can find it almost anywhere else. more

Excellent 12/26/2002

Pat's cheesesteaks are the best cheesesteaks that I've ever eaten. The steak just melts in your mouth. more

DIrty 12/24/2002

Despite the great taste, cleanliness is not on the top of their list. Would rather go to Geno's only because its cleaner more

King of undercooked steaks 12/10/2002

The meat was not cut enough and it was too tough to chew. Too expensive for the lack of quality. The customer service is horrible. Lived in Philly all my life and only went once and that is enough. The only reason why it is famous is because of Rocky. Cons: crowded, horrible parking more

bestest 12/7/2002

best cheese steaks in the world cheese is the greatest french fries are the best I ever ate Pros: juciest, cheesyest, most flavorful Cons: not, near, my house more

The BEST CHEESESTEAK!!! 12/5/2002

I went to college in Philly and every time I ever go back to Philly now I have to stop at Pat's to get a Whiz With...there is nothing that tastes finer with Cheese Fries and a XL Dr. Pepper. Three Cheers for the Best 24 Hour Eatery known to man. Geno's can't even compare... Pros: Fast Service, Great Food Cons: Fatty Food, So-So Parking more

Steak wit!!! 12/4/2002

Some of my most fond memories of my time spent at Temple University in the 1970's, are of my occaisional sojourns to Pat's Steaks. Not being a cheesesteak fan, I order mine ""Steak wit"", and have never been disappointed to this day. Living in Allentown is most depressing, our steak sandwiches up here are made with dog meat.....I think. :) Pros: food, service, hot sauce Cons: comfort, no bathroom more
