Best

Everytime I come here the food is fresh and savory. The atmosphere feels very comforting and relaxing. Nice romantic place for date night.. Great food, Great Service and Great ...

Worst

The Minestrone is top notch. Thats about it. The rest of the meal is mediocre and the portions are tiny. Spent a hundred bucks and left starving.

Griglia Alimento 11/22/2006

I went here because I heard so much about the place. I must say the minestrone soup is the best you will ever have. I thought the prices were very reasonable and the service to be trough and efficient. The atmosphere was just what I was looking for warm and romantic. By the time my entree had arrived I was stuffed from eating so much soup and free bread. But I am Italian so I pressed ahead ... It was so wonderful I didn't want to stop eating! I will recommend Pagliacci's to everybody and will becoming back for years to come Pros: Service, Minestrone Soup, Atmosphere, Price more

Overpriced, sub-par food, retreat for homebodies 10/31/2006

I took my date here for his birthday over the weekend. I was attracted by the small quaint intimate gem quality I thought it would have. What I got: a place where their prices should demand sophistication, but I got food that I could have easily made better at home, and I'm not even Italian. We started out with a couple of appetizers since we were there 30 minutes early for our reservation. We decided to share an entree of pasta with shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels for $22. The only thing you got with it was minestrone. Since we wanted to share the entree, they charged us an additional $9 just to get a side salad so we could each have something to go with the meal (this is standard just to split the meal). And if you want bread with your meal, be prepared to pay an additional charge (where most places bring you complimentary bread and happily refill it when it's gone). When we got the meal, their pasta selection for this dish was spaghetti. In addition, the environment was dated and fake, and we seemed to be among a clientele of homebodies who don't get out much to know what a REAL intimate, sophisticated, authentic place is for dinner. I'm not the type of person to go to chain restaurants regularly, but I can tell you that you can go to Macaroni Grill and get the same dish with a better pasta selection of linguine for around $13/$14 AND they happily thow in some bread with it. So, for one entree, bread, a side salad, their least expensive bottle (Robert Mondavi) of Pinot Noir, and 1 Tiramasu cost us $73. And that didn't even include the appetizers we had during our wait to get seated. If you don't count the bottle of wine, our meal was the equivalent of what one hungry person would order, and their date was only hungry enough for a side salad. So you're looking at spending $73 plus tip for one and a half people!!! ($90 with apps) It was a rip off, and a let down for a special occassion. If you're not very exposed to nice places, you might actually like it. Pros: service Cons: high prices, $22 entree only worth $9-$11. Low key environment. more

OMG 4/25/2006

We went here because a friend told us this was the only good Italian food in Denver so 3 friends and I made reservations and went to check it out. We arrived early for some cocktails and talked to the bartender who offered some good insight to the history of the place and made some suggestions for dinner she was so passionate about every thing we could not wait to eat.We all took the bartenders suggestions of the white clam sauce linguini, home made pasta and meatballs, Veal Parm, and Chicken cacciatore. The meal started with a large pot of minestrone soup and bread this could have been the meal. We all tried a little of each dish and everything was just perfect. What a great evening with friends. We will all be back next week and probably make this a weekly spot. This is how all restaurants should be. Pros: Food , Service, Price more

If you're looking for a good rip off! 4/20/2006

Go to this restaurant! We went there after reading all the good reviews on here are were severly disappointed. The food was nothing amazing by any means! My friend ordered spaghetti with sausage. Instead she received a small cup of noodles with a big italian sausage link on the side! No sauce or anything! I ordered the veal it was alright... but definitely not worth the price on the menu. My fiancee ordered the Ravolli and said he would have been happier going to Olive Garden! Neither one of us order drinks to go with our meal and it still ended up being over $60 for two people! The only thing that I liked at this restaurant was the minestrone. Perhaps if you just ordered that you'd be happy. Our waitress was also very rude and fake towards us. I think she could tell we weren't happy about the food. Pros: The Minestrone Cons: Price, Food, Service more

The best Italian food in Denver!!!! 4/5/2006

This restaraunt has the best Italian food in Denver, especially the ministrone soup. I also love the homemade pastas, sauces, and desserts. A family owned restaraunt for 60 years ..... they know how to do it right. Pagliaccis is a great place for a date, family, or a special occasion. This is the cleanest restaraunt I have been in. Pros: Excellent food and se, Parking, Clean more

Thank you Pagliacci's 4/1/2006

Just had a wonderful birthday dinner at this lovely place. I was extremely impressed with our service and could not have asked for a better birthday dinner! My friends that brought me here had recommended it, said they had been going for years. I look forward to making future plans at Pagliacci's so that I may say the same. Thanks again!!!! more

BEST KEPT SECRET SINCE CONNETICUT 3/30/2006

Me and my wife have been playing the italian restraunt game since we moved too colorado 2 yrs ago. Being on a budget we found that this establishment gives you way above the average overall dining expierience. We found the wine menu to be extremely affordable. The garlic bread mouth watering. The soup they are known for old school (as your great grandmother would have made it) so delicious. Caprese salad we havent had since back home. And the pescatora entree dish (mixed seafood dish in red sauce served over pasta ) absolutely mouth watering.Stuffed, we still had dessert (canoli's that taste like they were flew in from italy). Service was professional and efficient. Its like home away from home.Thank you! Pros: Homemade Pasta, Wine Menu, Service Cons: Overall, Good, Exspierience more

awsome service! 3/28/2006

Kind, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive! If you dine out as frequent as myself you will know that these qualities are hard to find in a waiter. This was a great experience Pagliacci's! My girlfriend and I had dinner there for a very special occasion and everything was perfect, from appitizer to dessert. Thank you Pagliacci's! p.s. Nice work with the homemade pasta! more

What a treat 3/26/2006

In a town that has every possible chain restaurant it is nice to find a friendly family owned Italian Restaurant. I grew up in the North End of Boston so I know what good Italian food is. This little North Denver restaurant is as close to the food I grew up on as you will find in Denver. Every thing was perfect I was so caught up in the mood I proposed to my girlfriend here. This will always be our special place. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Service Cons: Crowded more

THE BEST 3/25/2006

This place is the best hands down! the food was incredible the atmosphere is warm and charming and the service was top notch. The Salmon was a generous portion and a scrum such display of culinary work and my wife had the Gnocchi with marinara and basil which was cooked to perfection and I would come back just for the tureen of soup that comes with every meal. Make sure you get a quart of soup to go or you will be back tomorrow. You will not find a finer family owned restaurant in Denver. Pros: Soup, Service more

Best part of North Denver 3/25/2006

I have been coming to Pagliacci's of over 25 years and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. My favorite part of the meal is the minestrone soup. Its to die for. Pros: soup, entree, service more

Romantic Date! 3/25/2006

I had a wonderful dinner, an excellent waiter and not to mention the minestrone soup which I could have eaten all by itself. The whole experience, I would recommend to whoever asks me about a good restaraunt to spend a romantic evening! By the way, don't forget dessert, the tiramasu was awsome! Pros: parking in the city, well lit at night, reasonable prices more

Great evening with friends and family! 3/25/2006

I went to Pagliacci's recently with friends and family and we all had a lovely time. The minestrone was excellent as always, the rest of the meal was also tasty! Our waiter, Dave was attentive and courteous. Our family has been coming to Pagliacci's since 1946 and we'll continue for as long as their doors are open! Pros: lighting, minestrone, ambiance more

Overcooked food and bad service. 3/15/2006

Sure the place looks nice, great italian feel but the food sucks and the service is even worse. This was a recommendation from a coworker so we took a group of 10 for a birthday dinner. Our server was one of the worst I have ever experienced, twenty minutes to get a glass of wine. Any good server knows to ask the ladies for their order before the men, our server didn't. Most of the food was overcooked and that was when he didn't forget two of the entrees out of our whole order. No apologies, no compensation. If you have to get up to find the server to ask him about the status of your meal then he isn't doing his job. They nickle and dime you on overpriced appetizers and additional garlic bread. Shame on you Pagliacci's, I've had better italian at Fazoli's. Pros: Garlic Bread Cons: Service, Overcooked Food, Overpriced more

Don't Do It 10/29/2004

My mother loves the place. So we go there. The soup:great. The salad:OK. The pasta and entrees: fugitaboutit. Undercooked eqgplant, $2.00 for 2 meatballs about the size of quarter, overcooked chicken. We're not going back for a while. Pros: Booths, Lighting, Bar Cons: , Chicken, Veal more

Great Italian in Denver! 2/20/2004

In a city not known for great italian food, this landmark red-and-white tablecloth joint sets the bar high! Great atmosphere, great (and affordable) food, this place is a must! more

I owe HOW MUCH?? 5/15/2003

WAY overpriced and unimpressive food. I can stay home and eat better Italian food than I had there. The minestrone was delicious, but the main event was a let-down. more

Send in the Clown! 3/14/2003

I love this place and have dined there a dozen times in the past year and a half. The decor sends you into a time warp but is quite cozy. The food wonderful. Whoever says the portions are small here must have a really big appetite. I always leave here stuffed and I am a pretty big guy. The soup is just great, the fresh grated cheese on the table is a nice touch. Try any of the specials, I've never been disappointed. Save room for the spumoni it's out of this world! Pros: Food, Ambiance, Affordable Magnums Cons: Parking more

Not enough food. 1/30/2003

The Minestrone is top notch. Thats about it. The rest of the meal is mediocre and the portions are tiny. Spent a hundred bucks and left starving. more
