Opulence of Southern Pines prides ourselves in wonderful products and excellent customer service. The staff feels badly that Karen V. ruined her coverlet by not following the care label. We are not able to replace her coverlet or refund her money due to the fact that it was improperly laundered and not a manufacturers defect. If you buy a new car and hit a pole while driving out of the lot, does the car dealer replace the car ? more

Worst customer service is an understatement. LOOK IF YOU MUST BUT DON'T BUY. I recently purchased about $1,500 of bed linens at the Raleigh store. Here's how they treated me when I tried to solicit help from them when I accidentally shrunk the bed cover. I had a simple question about the dimensions of the cover so I could search for an expert to help repair any damage. The store manager called me back and before I could ask my question she started yelling at me for wasting their time, called me an ignorant consumer who didn't know the difference between polyester and fine linens. When I couldn't stop the ranting I hung up and called the owner. What a customer service disappointment. How they are still in business is beyond me. Other small business owners should be concerned that Opulence taints the support of local business. more

I would not recommend purchasing on-line from this company. I purchased bath accessories from their website. Not all of the items were pictured. The lotion dispenser (one of the items for which there is no picture) is not to my liking. In my attempt to return it within the appropriate time, I was informed there would be a 25% restocking fee to do so. I was very polite, explained there was no picture online and I didn't care for the look when I saw it. They told me that they can't have people buying things and then deciding they don't like them once the product is seen in person. I was puzzled since I had no opportunity to see the item other than ""in person"". The manager was adamant, did not seem to care if: 1-they lost any future business from me (BTW-I had spent over $500.00 on that order) and 2-if I posted a review. So, having NEVER done this before, I am warning other potential online customers to be aware of how this company does business. more

We have recently started to re-do our master bedroom in our main house and I found some Yves Delorme bedding at our local YD store that I fell in love with. I only bought the duvet that day because I wanted to make sure my husband loved it as much as I did before purchasing the whole set. Thankfully, he did. I had our Family Assistant order the rest of the set online because I didn't have time to go back downtown (bottom sheet, top sheet and 2 pillowcases) that week. She ordered them from the Opulence of Southern Pines store b/c they show their inventory on their website. She accidently ordered shams, not realizing I wanted standard pillow cases. When I called the store to get a return slip they were completely rude and unhelpful. I had kept all the original packaging, the shams were unused and just as they had arrived to me. The only thing that was missing was a small, 2 inch white tag that said ""euro sham"", and because of that they won't let me return them. Literally, I have all of the plastic, pictures, even the cardboard that the shams were wrapped around, and they will not let me return this item b/c of a small tag that is easily re-printable. This is after I spent over $600 on 2 sheets from their store as a brand new customer. California is not known for it's great customer service, but I have NEVER encountered such rudeness and idiotic policies as this. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. DON'T SHOP HERE. more

GETTING WHAT YOU PAY FOR 9/12/2008

I LOVE this store....I've never found a store that I am more at home in. It is my ""go to "" store for all my gifts. The employees are nice, helpful and knowledgeable. I can buy a gift for $4 or a gift for $100 and I receive the same treatment. The gift wrap is incredible! I will do all of my Christmas shopping there. I just bought the most incredible set of sheets there and they were less than I would have paid at a department store and much higher quality! I could not be happier, I recommend this place to everyone!!!! Great lingerie too! Pros: Excellent customer service, great location, great parking. Cons: none! more

great customer service! 3/31/2008

I was there the other day looking for a bedspread and had both ladies helping me out. We had great conversation of many things in the store. The store has very high quality luxury bedding among many other things. Loved it. Will definitely keep going back. Pros: ambience, selection, parking right out front. Cons: pretty expensive, but you do get what you pay for. more

Cary Shop - Little or No Customer Service 12/27/2006

I have shopped in the Cary store several times, and on each occasion felt as if I was interrupting the employees. The first time I came in to exchange a gift my husband had bought me. There were no other customers, however I was ignored while the store manager chatted on the phone. She didn't make eye contact with me, or indicate that she would be with me momentarily. I waited long enough to feel uncomfortable, then left. Since then I have returned a few times, and though I have been waited on, I always have the impression that the employees are either multi-tasking, or simply disinterested in me as a customer. Today, I wanted to exchange a couple of Christmas gifts - again the attitude that I was really inconveniencing them. Until the past couple of years, those of us in Cary who wanted to buy upscale lingerie, linens, etc. had few local choices. Now there are plenty - I love J. Alanes at the Lassiter for merchandise, reasonable prices, and fantastic customer service!!! more

Cary deserves better 11/5/2005

I refuse to do further business with an enterprise that verbally abuses their employees and denigrates people who live in the town of Cary, while taking our money. The two thousand dollars worth of business that I spent in the last year at the Cary store will now go elsewhere. As a local business owner and employer, I know Cary deserves better. Cons: Overpriced more
