Review for the restaurant at 2520 Montrose

so friggin good 8/24/2006

everything here is good. highly recommended that you call in your order 30minutes before time so you can pick it up right when you walk into the door. otherwise you will have to stand in a long line and then wait an additional 30minutes before the food is prepared. beef.. goood. lamb... gooood. pork... goooood. Pros: delicious, inexpensive, large portions Cons: long waits, difficult to find good parking, overcrowded at peak hours more

best greek salad, fabulous hummus...and pita bread.. 8/21/2006

this is the best greek food to ever touch my tastebuds. absolutely wonderful food, every morsel was delicious. only problem is i live in austin and there's nothing that even comes close to satisfying the craving for that niko's has left. seriously considering driving there just to eat..... Pros: hummus, tabouleh Cons: parking, atmosphere is better outside, if it's not too hot more

Awesome Greek Food 7/7/2006

Wow what can I say...I was introduced to Niko Niko's last year and fell in love with their Gyros. The meat is tender and juicy. Even tho parking is limited, it's a small price to pay for their food. The portions are way too big, but that just means I get to enjoy it later. The honey balldessert are terrific and I love their Feta cheese. I highly recommend Niko Niko's you won't be disappointed. Pros: The Food, The Portions, The Ambience Cons: Parking more

My All-Time Favorite Restaurant 6/4/2006

I eat out almost everyday so I've tried many places, but I go to Niko-Niko's atleast once, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. I've been going regularly for 8 months, but have been going for 10 years. Best food in town. Lines can get long, but move fast. PARKING IS HORRIBLE, but it's the price you pay to get the best food, so I'll deal with it. Some people might think it's pricey but you get a lot for the money, great food, and great service. Pros: GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE Cons: Parking more

Good food, but definitely not cheap eats 5/1/2006

The food is very good. I have eaten here since I was 10 years old...all the way back in 1983. The prices are getting high. Cons: prices, small main dishes more

Very good, but pricey 4/27/2006

I frequent Niko Niko's and really like the food. My only complaints is the prices can jump up on you. They load you up with sides like potatoes and fries, but really I'd like 1/2 of the food they'd give me for about 1/3 of the price. Pros: Great tasting food Cons: Can get pricey more

Our family LOVES this place. 1/9/2006

I work nearby...that's how I discovered this place. I introduced it to my wife and kids and now they love it. My two year old was asking for Niko Niko's when he was hungry...honest...it is hilarious. We live in Katy, Texas (about a 45-mnute drive) and we drive into town sometimes just to hit Niko's. We make a day of it and visit the zoo or museums as well. My wife and daughter LOVE the salads. I am more of a meat and potatoes guy. Love the gyros and the lemon pepper pork chops. But my absolute FAVORITE are the wings...spicy, tasty and better than any wing place in town. Expansion was great but this just means it is just more packed. Relax, sit and enjoy the salad and tea while you wait......the food will make the wait it worth it. Pros: FOOD, FOOD, WINGS Cons: parking more

the best greek!!!!! 8/21/2005

i love the food here. vegetarian-friendly. best hummus in town. and spanakopita. my boyfriend raves about their gyros. great place, the food will not dissapoint. Pros: food, fast Cons: seating more

YUMMYYYYYYYYYYYy 8/7/2005

I am from that part of the world, and I must say, Niko has it RIGHT ON! These are the best Gyros and potatoes in town. I have not tried any other dish, because I can't stop ordering the gyros. Thanks Niko! more

Best in Houston 7/18/2005

The service is great. The food to die for. The people are good looking. The parking is horrible and it would be better to have real plates but its a great place to eat with friends. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Parking, paper plates more

No Biggie 7/14/2005

Well the food is pretty good. Would be better if it were served on a glass plate or hard plastic plate instead of a styrofoam plate. I tried cutting into my lamb and went right through the plate. I must say the food is good but hard to enjoy. Cons: Terrible Parking, Long Wait for food more

Longtime Loyal Customer 6/29/2005

I have been coming to this place for the last 15 years!!!I am so happy that it has grown in popularity, but I hate the line that I now have to wait in! It's absolutely worth it though! Thier vegetarian dolmas rock! Pros: food, price, service Cons: parking, long lines more

opa! 2/26/2005

i'm so glad they finally renovated the place. i like the new patio area they have with the heat lamps for cold weather. try the gyros, moussaka, and falafel. casual eatery, great greek food. it's always busy for a reason. Pros: food Cons: parking more

What a dissappointment 2/3/2005

My wife and I visited on a recommendation. We paid $30 for 2 mediocre entrees. Lots of food but little effort to make it tasty. Salads were made almost entirely of iceburg lettuce w/big chunks of tomato and cucumber. Food is served on plastic plates w/plastic tableware seated at bench tables. The food was way too expensive for the cheap environment and quality. Cons: poor parking more

Fantastic! 11/23/2004

Niko Niko's is the best Greek restaurant in town. The food is delicious and the prices are great. With their new expansion there is more seating but still maybe not enough for this hot spot. Their Greek salad and gyro pita sandwich is my husband's and my favorite and their tzatziki sauce is to die for. Be sure to ask for extra sauce for your gyro. Visit soon- you'll be missing out if you don't. Pros: Food, Price, Service Cons: , Line more

Yummy! 9/21/2004

Love the food! Its under construction right now but will only be better when its done. The food is inexpensive. The lines are usually long - but thats bec. its sooooo good. Casual place where u eat on benches but the people are always friendly. Cures my cravings for good greek food everytime. Park on the side of the building....don't fight the traffic backing out on Montrose. Pros: Food, Inexpensive Cons: , Construction more

Great main dishes... 9/1/2004

I have just about as many gripes about this place as I do praises. ;-) Always prepare for a wait, it is always busy. There is not enough parking, not enough seating, Ordering and pickup is at the same window which calls for serious traffic jams INside the place, I hate eating with plastic utensils and their side items are just so, so. That being said I go back there again and again! I the Greek food is the best to be found anywhere in Houston and well worth all the issues. I usually forgo the potato or rice side dishes and just trade out for a large, delicious greek salad (generous with the feta!). I've loved every main dish I've eaten there. AND (exciting news!) they are expanding so hopefully the crowding will be less. Pros: inexpensive, Huge menu- choices!, friendly staff Cons: , plastic utensils, crowded more

Telemakus on montrose 8/31/2004

OOOOPPPPPAAAA!!!!! This is my favorite greek restaurant....gosh it's so good. I am not talking about the stablishment or the service, because to tell you the truth both are not that great...i am talking about the food!!!! Everytime i eat here, i just want to lick my hands and come begging for more. Their Gyro salad is the best one in houston! This place is inexpensive and great flavors...please treat your taste buds with some greek food! Pros: aweosome food, great price more

Fantastic Gyro 7/26/2004

The gyro platter is simply awesome! Cheap and really really good! The oven roasted potatoes drenched in olive oil is good, too. Pros: cheap, delicious more

Best Greek Food in Houston 5/31/2004

I would eat here every day if I could. The best Greek food I have ever had. Wonderful salad, chicken, pita, hummus, spanikopita, gyros, fries...everything I have tried is wonderful. The only bad thing about the place is waiting in line. I would recommend take out. Pros: Spanikopita, Greek Salad, Food Cons: , Long Lines more
