Best Brows in Town! 5/13/2008

I've been going to Vanessa for more than 10 years and would not dream of anyone else touching my eyebrows!!! She is fast and friendly and always makes you feel that she appreciates your business. Please note that she has a new location on Lombard Street, near 15th - a great addition to the neighborhood. Check her out and be ready to become a regular. Fab French Manicure 5/12/2008

Vanessa gives a great French manicure. This is NOT the typical (and often cheap looking) glaring white and pink manicure, but a lovely and perfectly natural looking French manicure that makes your nails look healthy and fabulous. Just make sure that you don?t have any plans for serious cooking or manual labor immediately after your manicure. If you can get through the first few hours without a smear or scratch, then the manicure will last weeks. Her location at 1440 Lombard is also very convenient. Pros: Small cozy salon, convenient location, fast friendly service Cons: Vanessa's schedule can get booked up in the late afternoon more

Best Salon in Philly 5/6/2008

I have been going to Vanessa for a few years now for manicures, pedicures and facial waxing and she is always great. She is incredibly sweet, fast, efficient and very reasonably priced. She always delivers what she promises. Her pedicures are great - her last one lasted me for almost a month . Vanessa always make time for me in her schedule no matter how busy she gets - she's now at her new location on lombard but please do go and see her, you won't regret it! she did my nails for my wedding day and they looked perfect! more

I met Vanessa through a friend and the first thing that stuck out to me was her adorable personality. She is sweet and makes you relax the entire time you are with her. Her manicures are one of the most reasonable priced and what you get is a manicure and pedicure with expensive boutique products from only the best boutiques in Philadelphia. I felt like a little princess. I had been doing my own eyebrows before I came to see her because I was trying to save money. However, they were horrible uneven and not shaped well. It took time but Vanessa has them to a beautiful shape. Trust me ladies its not worth it to do it yourself. Vanessa is the only one I let touch my face. I dont even let myself at all anymore! Vanessa is awesome and she's so nice! She does the best eye brow waxing in the city, seriously! I've been to a lot of other salons where they butcher my brows too thin and they look horrible, but Vanessa knows what looks right for you. I highly recommend her to anyone. Pros: Cute, new salon more

Great eyebrows! 4/11/2008

Vanessa is awesome. I have been going to her for perfect eyebrows for two or three years now and have never been dissatisfied. I think other reviewers have already said as much, but she's super-fast, friendly and reasonable (for an awesome job 100% of the time). If you like consistancy, efficiency and no frills, go to Vanessa! Her address has changed, she's now on Lombard, just west of Broad Street. more

best back wax in town 4/9/2008

No one likes to get their back waxed, but Vanessa makes it almost enjoyable. She is fast, efficient, friendly, skilled, and above all considerate. I've been hairy a long, long time, and I've tried a lot of other Center City salons, but it wasn't until I discovered Vanessa that I was comfortable enough to have my back waxed regularly. Vanessa is simply a gem who does what she does better than anyone I've ever met. Once you've found her, you'll never ever want to let her go. Her new shop is at 14th and Lombard and it is bigger, brighter, and more attractive than her old one on Walnut Street. But Vanessa is the same old Vanessa--happy, friendly, and full of fun. Her personality and expertise more than make up for what has always been an uncomfortable experience for me. I don't quite look forward to it yet, but I no longer avoid it, and that's because of Vanessa. Some call her V; others call her Nessa; but what I call her is the best. more

Best Eyebrows!! 4/7/2008

First time reviewer...I will not let anyone touch my eyebrows but Vanessa! I have been with her almost 3 yrs! I receive compliments all the time on the natural arch and feminine shape of my eyebrows. I have sensitive skin, she cares not to irritate/damage my skin in the waxing process. She is positive, friendly, and EXTREMELY accomodating to my crazy schedule!! There should be a category for Custom Manicures & Waxing just for Vanessa! She stands out from the rest because she loves her work and it shows. She does her manicures by hand, no electric tools & just to suit your own personal style. As for eyebrows, she knows what will look good on you, discusses it with you first and gets it just right every time. This is personalized and professional service at its best. She is the best manicurist in this city - believe me - I have tried several. What I like best about Vanessa is that she gives you top notch service and is a professional all the way! Vanessa is the best at nails and waxing. Her technique is flawless! I've been going to her for years. She's the only person I allow to do my french manicure and eyebrows. Her salon has moved to 1440 Lombard St. 215-731-0177. Walk ins are welcome. I've never made an appointment, but Vanessa always fits me in.
