i have been coming to vanessa for waxing for years now, and i wouldn't know what to do without her. she does a superb job at sculpting eyebrows. they are always the correct shape for your face and always the perfect length. her waxing style never leaves me red or irritated so it is great for a quick lunchtime appointment. please note that she has moved to a new location - 1440 lombard street (zip 19146) she takes walk-ins but it is always best to call ahead 215-731-0177. Give yourself the best gift for the Holidays! Vanessa's manicures and pedicures are the best way to relax after day of purchasing for others. Vanessa always greets her clients (new and old) with a warm smile and excellent service. Her manicures last forever and her pedicures make you melt in your seat. Her nail colors are always the latest and the greatest colors of the season. I have been having Vanessa take care of me for years and would be lost with out her. I can't wait for my next appointment. This Girl is GOOD 12/10/2008

I went to have my hair done and arrived early. I decided to have a manicure. I can tell you I have never had a better French Manicure. I absolutely loved the way she shaped my nails. I am never really pleased with the way most girls shape....but I was blown away with her style. In addition, I found her to be so very nice. I loved my time with her, she is funny and very sweet. I know she is extremely flexable with her clients because several arrived while I was there and she did everything she could to fit them into her book as well as help them decide on colors. It was nice to have someone really interested in giving you personal attention and service. I'm going back for waxing....I hear she is awsome. She knows her stuff and takes pride in her work....... Best In Philly! 12/8/2008

Vanessa is the very best in the entire city. I go to her weekly for my eyebrows as well as my manicures. She took my eyebrows from overplucked and unshaply to the best brows that I could possible have and without the pain that I remember from past experiences! Her manicures last longer than any I have had in the past and she doesn't use electric filers because she doesn't want to damage the nail. Vanessa's french manicures are perfectly natural, they literally look like my natural nails only better. She is delightful and fun. I truly look forward to my weekly trip to see her! Vanessa is awesome. I've never gotten a better Brazillian wax and I've had my fair share. It was pretty much painless and she knows all of the best techniques and uses all of the best materials. The shaping she does for eyebrows is great as well. I have absolutely nothing bad to say. 5 stars all the way! more

Love Nails by Vanessa 10/29/2008

I've known Vanessa for over a year now. I walked into her studio for a eyebrow wax out of the blue and have not gone anywhere else since. I understand the importance of a good eyebrow wax, the shape has to flatter the eyes, help frame the face, and I don't want any burns or break outs. I trust the every time I visit Vanessa the results will be exactly what I want. I bring my friends to her too, and they really appreciate her easy personality, her funny nature and her good results. Also I love that I can be dead honest with her, when I'm not exactly loving the first wax, I can tell her exactly what I think and she'll adjust it. Which is why the results are always what I want. If you are looking for a good wax, or a mani or pedi, try Vanessa, you'll be happy. NOTE: she moved and is now at 1440 Lombard. Pros: you can book an appointment whenever... she's works around my schedule Cons: location is a little walk, but thats not too bad more

Best waxes and peds 10/19/2008

Saw her place on Lombard. Made an appointment for leg wax. She did my eyebrows that same visit. She knows what she is doing. My eybrows always look great. I then made an appointment for a pedicure. When you get there she already has colors picked out that she think would look good on you. I always go with the color she suggests. She is great! more

Best brazillian wax ever 10/18/2008

Vanessa who is at 1440 Lombard at Meringue works with my favorite person and hairdresser David. David told me to try vaness out for a brazillian wax, so I did.The results were a very perfect experiance.Vaness not only made me comfortable but was very funny to. I did not feel the same pain that you do when ever someone else waxes you.She does a mean eyebrow wax also. try her out she is the best more

BEST WAXING, MANICURE AND PEDICURE IN PHILADELPHIA 10/9/2008

I had my hair done at Meringue AMAZING!. While my color was processing I tried Vanessa for my eyebrow wax. They were shaped so well ,I now have arch for the first time ever.The eyebrows were so good I went on to try a manicure and pedicure. Vanessa is a true perfectionest she spent alot of time and was also very very funny and kept me quite amused. my nails still look great two weeks later.So much better then the landscape of nail holes that litter our city.One on one is what you get at Meringue. Vanessa is by far the best at all of her crafts . To start ,she gave me the best bikini and eyebrow wax ever. Painless,quick and perfect. The manicure and pedicure for 50.00 was a real bargin. Her attention to detail was so awesome. Dont go to the cheap nail dumps,her spot is beautiful and not some cattle drive like all the others.I highly recomend her if you want the finest in all of the above services. more

I was roaming the internet looking for a new manicurist-close to home-and ran across Vanessa thru citysearch after reading a few reviews, sat up an appt. and was very happy with those results she doesn't decide how to do the nails-she asks I have found that her manicures do last I also ended up doing my brows and was also content w/those results I would highly recommend Vanessa vivacious personality and extremely pleasant thanks Vanessa!! more

pedicures to die for 9/12/2008

Vanessa who is now located at 1440 Lombard Street knows how to treat your feet. I followed her to this location and its was well worth it. The new location is beautiful and the service is great. I trust Vanessa with my manicure, eye brow waxing and of course the best pedicures in town. Vanessa not only takes care of your spa needs she becomes your friend. I may wander every one in awhile but when I really need someone to repair the damage Vanessa is my girl. Pros: ambience service great location Cons: no spa chair but the end result is what counts more

vanessa is the bomb!! first, she's very solicitous and wants you to like what you're getting; second, she is very good at her job: great nails and excellent waxing -- she uses high end polish, and a great wax that doesn't burn and is great for sensitive skin; third, not only is she a conscientious worker, she's also great to chat and hang out with-- afterwards, i always feel relaxed and love my pretty toes and smoothed out self. yay! more
