Any other unsatisfied "Groupon" customers out there? Me, and several friends purchased a "Groupon" in December for $50 that included a hair cut, mini-facial and manicure. It seemed like a great deal. I called the salon the same day I purchased the Groupon, but was told they couldn't schedule me for the facial or manicure. Their claim was they only had 2 people that performed these services and couldn't even talk to me until next spring. HOWEVER if I "upgraded" the facial or manicure, then miraculously they could schedule me in. This seemed suspicious that only if I spent more money could the 2 people have more time in their schedule. I had to call several times just to get them to put me on a waiting list. They were "bothered" by my phone calls.
This was just the first of my complaints. My daughter had the worst haircut I've ever seen (not to mention the $25 upcharge for drying her hair). She HAD long thick hair, to her waist, but came home with a crooked cut nearly up to her shoulders. It looked as if the stylist had braided her hair and cut the braid off, not bothering to straighten the ends. She had to reschedule to have it fixed it was so bad. She was lucky, when I went to get my cut, I had a partial highlight as well. OMG - the placement of the color was horrible. I have stripes and polka-dots of blonde randomly placed in my hair. I left the salon with 1/2" roots. The cut took him less than 5 minutes, it was pouring rain and he still charged me $15 for a 3 minute blow dry. As I mentioned, it was pouring rain and he didn't have the common courtesy to even let me decide if I wanted to pay extra for the blow dry - just sprung it on me at the checkout. My hair was soaking wet by the time I reached the parking lot. Parking is inconvenient.
I called the owner to express my dissatisfaction of my hair, but he never even called me back. The "manager" called me back with a defensive argumentative attitude. The sytlist tried to fix my hair, but only made it worse.
You also have to pay an extra $15-$25 to have your hair blow dried. How unprofessional to quote a price for a haircut, but not include styling your hair. Maybe it is "common in the industry" to upcharge for blow-drying, but as consumers, we should refuse to pay extra for drying our hair. What self respecting stylist would allow you to walk out of their salon with dripping wet hair? And how could they know if the cut is right without drying it? Next they will be charging rental fees for the smocks they offer and coat check fees.
It's February, and still they have no appointments available for the services I paid for. I would NOT recomment this salon to anyone.
I would NOT recommend this salon at all.
Pros: Groupon
Cons: Arrogant, caddy attitude in the salon
