Review content:
I just moved to St. Louis and was told by one of my boyfriend's friends to go to James Mitchell Salon. I had to cancel my first appointment, but did so within 24 hours. When I went in for my first appointment about a week later, the hairstylist James reached out his hand to shake mine and said, "so why did you have to cancel your appointment last week?...you know we're a very busy salon and we've been booked for the entire month so just keep that in mind next time...I mean, we should charge you but I'll let it go this time." I stood there, completely shocked thinking to myself, did this really just happen? I continued to follow him back to the chair. Looking back I should have just left then and there. He acted as though he was better than me the entire cut. He was constantly arguing with the woman who washed my hair, and she would talk about him to me during my hairwash and when she dryed my hair. She even said how bad my haircut look.
When he actually started cutting my hair he said he'd give me "east coast waves". I never requested that. He cut a minimum two inches off my hair. Filled it with 7 different products. And then charged me 75dollars.
IF you want to go to a salon where you feel talked down to, or where they don't give you any respect, then go to this salon. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life and I never CRIED after gettiing a hair cut. Maybe the other stylists are great but mine (the owner) was not.
This is by far the most unprofessional business I have ever been in and I would not ever referr anyone to this salon if they are in their right frame of mind.
also, i would give less than a one star rating but it says I need to give a minimum of one.
