My husband got me a gift certificate here for my birthday. I got a facial, a massage, and some waxing done. It was simply unbelievable. I pretty much sampled all of their services...

Miri's Amazing! 3/31/2008

I've been getting facials for over fifteen years and I must say that Miri's facials are the best bargain I've ever encountered. I've had $200 facials at the Four Seasons and Sonya Dakar and Miri's facials are better. My skin glows after I leave and just keeps looking better as the week goes on. Not only does she give you an amazing facial, she throws in a wonderful shoulder, leg and neck message too. She's so warm and welcoming, it's both a relaxing and therapeutic experience that I highly recommend! Pros: great, relaxing facials for an amazing price Cons: None more

small salon, run so well! 3/30/2008

It was quite amazing coming in for a facial, eye brow waxing, brow tint, and lash tint, and noticing how well this little salon is run... Lots of people were being "handled", there were 2 massages going, one facial was getting done, another was waitng, one came in to purchase a gift or something, and I was being waxed and tinted... All this in almost complete silence, while whispering away. my facial was superb, my skin (problematic, clogged pores) got extracted by Miri and massaged by Helena, all quietly and in great order. Loved it all, and you ladies of the salon, you deserve a big thank you! Pros: First rate professional services, Staff's efforts to please are felt throughout! more

Best esthetician EVER encountered 3/29/2008

It was my first time at this spa for a facial and I was a bit skeptical but turned out to be amazing. The staff was very comforting and inviting. Miri gave me the most amazing facial. Then I got a massage...my back was tense and slightly soar...by the time I left and the next day my back felt great. Am so happy I found this place I will continue going there. They gave great advice on products, what I needed and what I do not need....I was 100% satisfied and will go back. Pros: Knowledgable, dedicated, caring and EFFECTIVE professionals Cons: None more

A Hidden Treasure 3/28/2008

All the other reviews are correct. Miri is a miracle worker with golden hands. As soon as you step into the salon and meet Miri you are immediately put at ease. Its almost like stepping into a time capsule back to calmer and more innocent days. I have had many facials in my lifetime and no one has ever been so thorough with their extractions and yet so painless. Miri is truly skilled. The facial she gives is so much more than just a facial, there was so much massaging included! I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep! This was my first time and definitely not my last. Kindness galore at this peaceful space 3/27/2008

I sensed that this was a happy place as soon as I came in for my first treatment (the "golden hands" facial, and eye brows waxing). Nice people, very industrious, very much about working, but yet, they all found time to smile and acknoledge my presence, along with other 2 young women who sat there waiting. We were offered a drink, and encourged to grab light refreshments. One felt as a guest, rather than a client/customer. 15 minutes later, my eye brows looked great , I love them! the facial that followed put me to sleep and when it was done, despite lots of squeezing, my balck heads were history, and I didn't look blotchy! Amazing! Pros: Good place, really! And quite affordable, I will do this once a month, with pleasure! more

This is the BEST spa I've ever tried! 3/27/2008

Hi Guys, I'm from Europe and know a lot about spas and cosmetics. I tried Skinworks after reading all of these reviews. It's true, Miri, Helena and Shinobu are just the best. They are very professional, talented and very very friendly. I had a facial followed by a massage. I felt like in heaven! Thank you again, I can't wait to be back in a month! good facial (from a man's impression) 3/26/2008

I've gone to get facials enough times so I can tell a good facial apart from a not such a good one! Really got all the "black heads" cleaned out, and my face wasn't red or srange looking when I left. That's the way a good facial ends, with a skin that looks better actually! My girlfriend was pleased, she's been bugging me to remove the black heads... I know I should do this more often, I guess I really should, and I will. This place didn't "bother" me, I felt comfortable and the result was great. Pros: good place, friendly more

A "feel good" place 3/26/2008

A friend recommended this place for a shoulder wax, and I went in. Felt comfortable, the treatment was bearable (I obviously don't like it "that" much, understood, isn't it?) but honestly, went by real smoothly. Miri was sweet, we chatted, before I knew it, done! I got comfy, kind of tired, andI felt like getting a massage. Luckily I could get it right away, and it was perfect, I fell asleep. I think this place is a "serendipity", good find, good staff, good prices! It's a keeper for me. I've since recommended it to couple of my buddies and lady friends. I know they'll be pleased. Simply the best! 3/26/2008

I'm not one who normally write reviews, but I just had to let everyone know about Miri. I actually found Miri through citysearch, looking for a place to get waxed. I had listed down a couple of places to inquire about. I called Miri first because she was the earliest opening time... And boyyy am I glad I did. I called, and a genuine and welcoming voice was on the recieving end- It was Miri. I asked if I could come in the same day, and luckily she had a spot open. I came in and I was greeted by Miri. I had to wait a couple of minutes because her schedule was backed up, but this just shows how many people trust in her. (I'm also thankful she made the effort to fit me in her schedule.) While my wait, Helena offered me tea and tangerines, which I thought was very generous. What also impressed me was that Miri offered to pay for one of her patient's parking for being a little delayed. Bottom line, Miri is a wonderful woman. She is very sincere, warm, and caring... and this is all from my first visit. I'm definitely returning. Thanks so much Miri! You are the best! Pros: Miri, Helena, atmosphere.. Everything! Best Looking Brows 3/25/2008

I've never had brows so beautifully done by this very warm, inviting, gregarious and loving woman. I first stepped into her welcoming spa six years ago and have kept coming back ever since. Her assistant also takes very good care of you during facials with her soft, light and gentle touches. I've often fallen asleep due to the comforting touch and peaceful surroundings. I can only imagine how wonderful Miri's other services are. And what's more, the rates are very reasonable. Try it for yourself! You won't regret it! super eye lashes job! 3/25/2008

Someone told me that she had her eye lashes tinted and permed at Skinworks! I went in today to get them done! I am so excited, never had them look this good! I am ready for an event I have coming up in a couple of days! Thanks a lot! Pros: Good atmosphere, relaxed, but great energy! Cons: didn't notice any more

Hey, Miri is good, and so are the other young women with her! And it's easy, down to earth, yoiu come in, get your service, pay reasonably, and you're out with good result! The best facials and waxing in town!! 3/22/2008

I'm a regular customer and I brought in my niece for a facial and an eyebrow waxing for the first time, she's 14. She was very nervous at first, but after just a short time, she started to be very talkative and relaxed. At the end, she hugged Miri and told her that she would love to come back, and asked Miri when she should be back! That was an accomplishment! Thank you Miri for making my niece so pleased! I get waxed on a regular basis, once a month, at Miri's skinworks. She's good, I'll tell you! I jused to be very anxious at other places, and at Miri's, I am relaxed, we chat, she is fast and on top of the situation. And her prices, they are good! I was had plenty of times in this town, Los Angeles, so I am always content ehre, I know she always gives me consideration and that's unique! When I didn't work recently, she tried real hard and discounted her services so it wouldn't create a hardship for me! Who else does these things? Pros: Best waxer and facialist! more

Step into Miri Mandel and you are greated with tenderness. I've been going to Miri's salon for about 8 years now. The service is exceptional. You feel like you are the only person Miri or Helena is pampering, unlike some of the larger, more expensive salons. I have been getting facials for about 25 years, in various cities, and I know it has made a difference in my skin. Miri is an expert and you can trust that she will take care of you. I'm so glad we found each other! more

Best eye last tint and brow waxing! 3/22/2008

It's Easter, I will shortly get with my family! and now, after this quick and "productive" visit to Miri Mandel Skinoworks, I am ready, boy, am I ready! My evey brows needed help, that's an understatement! Bushy and unruly, they are now PERFECT! my eye lashes are so light, you should see them now, all dark and a perfect frame to my blue eyes!
