Millers Pum is apparently known for its ribs but I happened in off the street and wanted a burger and what a burger it turned out to be. I would definently rate the hamburger at ...

Cozy Bar Atmosphere Near the Palmer House 6/7/2006

Looking for a lunch time venue near the Palmer House (Hilton)? Miller's Pub is just the thing. Serving up good homemade food in the central Loop is a welcome surprise you will find here. The wait staff is old fashioned in the sense of knowing how to take care of customers, the restaurant itself is like a cozy club or your favorite neighborhood bar. You don't need to drink to enjoy eating here. And for all of my sports-minded male coworkers, this is a favorite spot to catch up on the latest baseball score while enjoying a burger or some ribs. The food served up here is tasty comfort food, the kind mom used to make. Miller's Pub may seem like a throw-back to another age, but that can be a good thing in the age of fast food lunches. This is also a good place to have a drink after a meeting at the Palmer House (as is the Big Downtown nearby). more

late night good food 5/7/2006

Miller's has really good bar food and decent prices. I went to school in the area and found myself hanging here on a many a hungry night. The service is as friendly as it needs to be and the bar tenders know how to make any drink you can think of. Try a non-greasy meat sandwich - mmmmmmmmyum. more

Unique late-night spot 3/14/2006

There are very few places in the South Loop that are open late enough to be interesting. Of maybe two places in the area that are open till 4am, Miller's Pub is far superior and sure to keep you wanting to stay out late. They serve food till usually around 2, and I mean actual food, not bar grub. Personally I recommend the crab cakes, but they have a variety of choices. The bartenders are fun, and most of the servers are helpful (though occasionally someone's having a bad night, or just has a not so pleasant attitude). With the Palmer House right next door, expect a lot of business travelers in Miller's, and homeless people waiting right outside the door for your spare change or smoke. Also, business people occasionally drink too much - who knew? So be prepared to witness a fun and entertaining bar fight. But you might want to bring your own popcorn. more

A sophisticated bar without pretention 3/7/2006

I'm not a bar fan. By that, I mean I'm not really a huge fan of smoke-filled, dark pubs that reek of cheap beer and grease (not that there's anything wrong with that...) When my husband suggested we grab a drink at Miller's after visiting the Taste of Chicago, I was reticent. Wow, was I surprised! It's got a very upscale feel, but it's not too chic. I hear their food is good, but we only had a few drinks. The bartenders are great, and it seems to appeal to a wide range of ages. Two thumbs up! more

Miller's Pub 2/28/2006

Miller's Pub is a great, upscale place for a drink after work or a place to gather with friends. Tables fill up pretty quickly, and many are reserved on crowded nights and weekends. The bartenders are very professional, so do ask questions if you're looking for a suggestion or want to try something new. The last time I visited with my wife and friend, there was a large businessman population frequenting the bar. If you want a hopping bar scene, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for a quiet place for drink, this place is perfect! more

Tom and Jerry! 1/28/2006

Where do you go for a Tom and Jerry? The only place I know of is Miller's Pub. If you don't know what a Tom and Jerry is, go there and try it (though you'd better be over 21 and like hot beverages). The whole place is sorta lame- businessy, sort of Bennigans- like, or TGI fridays. I haven't had the food, but again- go there for the Old T and J. more
