I just made a reservation through MedStray for January for my wife and I to visit the Duke Hospital. The representqtive at MedStay, Ms. Donna Vidal was outstanding and very helpful. In a matter of only a few minutes our reservation was made and confirmation sent. My husband has been treated at Duke Hospital since January 2010. Just prior to our last visit we learned of MedStay through a friend whose husband was also being treated at Duke. Being able to call a number and immediately be connected to someone who can assist you is fabulous. The Washington Duke Inn is definitely a Five Star hotel. We are most grateful there is a service which makes it affordable. As a caretaker, being able to sit outside and enjoy the grounds while my husband rests makes the stay so much easier. I have used Sam at Medstay for almost a year and a half and he has made life so much simpler for me as I have to frequently travel to Duke for a vaccine trial. My story was I was diagnosed with a Stage 4 Glioblastoma Brain Tumor on 12/16/09. No one in Jax., Fl would touch me as it was on my front right lobe and crossing over to the left side. There was only one surgeon that wanted to even do a biopsy. We researched my options and found Dr. Alan Friedman at Duke, who was touted as "The Neurosurgeon" to go to. We got an appointment with him the following Tuesday, 12/22/09, and scheduled surgery for 12/31/09. To make a long story short, he got 95%-98% of the tumor out and six weeks of radiation and oral chemotherapy pills got the rest. It is now coming up on my year and a half clean MRI's and I return back to Duke every month as I qualified for a vaccine trial. Personally, I will not do anything without going through Duke Hospital. All this time, the last thing I wanted to think about was arrangements for me and my family. Duke put us in touch with Sam and we don't stay anywhere but the Washington Duke. They are accomodating, reasonably priced, and the service is the best. I hope the FDA will approve my vaccine to be administered in Florida soon but, in the meantime, am happy to let Sam put me up in a great place and have Duke take care of any medical needs I may have. more

Medstay helped me pick a hotel that was convenient to Duke and had everything right at my fingertips!! After having my radaiation treatment I was able to go to what felt like a five star hotel and be treated so kindly and warmly! The staff is wonderful and the rooms are beautiful! They were helpful even when it came to me needing to go back for a medical emergency! They have the biggest free continental breakfast I have ever seen! They are located by a Walmart with a pharmacy which I needed and so many restaurants like Red Robin, Fire House Subs, McDonalds, Outback and many more. There is even a shopping plaza there!! Thank you SAM you really provided me with a great way to relax during my treatment!!Thanks to all the staff at the COMFORT INN! My new home away from home! more
