Great food, beer, wine, and service! Rooms are large but bed was uncomfortable. It's a great experience especially if you get to stay in the guest house. Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent Food, Great Atmosphere Cons: Poor beds more

Edgefield fun 7/27/2002

Edgefield is a getaway for body and spirit. Wether catching a movie, drinking great micros, or playing put-put golf on a course with panoramic vistas you will find some relaxation here. Many different bars and pubs canvass Edgefield and give the visitor a variety of environments to relax with. Good Brew and Fun Golf 7/11/2002

Offering all the famous McMenamins brews, plus a few unique ones. Friendly staff and beautiful landscapes. All of that plus one of the funnest/challenging courses in the Portland area. A definate must play for any golfer, and a good starter for anyone wanting to startup. The course is made up of 18 small holes (under 80 yds each), that wind through the Edgefield property. A good way to see the grounds, enjoy some good brew, and hang out with good friends. Pros: Fun Golf, Excellent Brew, Beautiful Scenery Cons: Out of town more

Edgefield had a great feel. Everyone is relaxed and friendly. It feels like a community and the food is pretty good. They have excellent wine a beer and it relatively cheap. The Edgefield is a must-do for any visitor to town, especially in the summer. Food is not the highlight--it's the beer, wine and charming setting. I never want to leave when I'm there. Pros: peaceful, romantic, lots to do Cons: shared baths more

This was one of my favorite just-out-of-town getaways while I lived in Portland. Find great bargains if you book one of the mid-week specials--which might include dinner, as well as champagne or a massage. We were so fond of Edgefield that we had our wedding ceremony and reception here. The walls are a little thin and the bathrooms are shared, but you can't beat the atmosphere. Do the whole deal if you visit: Catch a movie, take the tour, play golf, and definitely visit the Little Red Shed. Pros: decor, prices, activities Cons: shared bathroom more
