I had the same experience as a previous reviewer. First, I really like the store and have been there frequently. It's fun to explore and they have a lot of great things for kids a...

Great Selection of Quality Toys 12/11/2008

This toy store is the best I have found in the Seattle area if you're looking for toys that aren't just commercialized junk. They have a wide range of interesting, educational, and "old school" toys that are well made and aren't likely to be tossed aside in week. more

Totally Awesome! 6/8/2007

I would say this toy store is the best in the country, but I'm from Canada, and anytime I get down to Seattle, I HAVE to stop there. It's better than anything I've been too. It has everything and anything a toy store should have. It has model horses, stuffies, board games galore, puzzles, books, awesome gag gifts, dollys, puppets, and anythings else you can thing of. My first trip there was when I was 19!, and I was still like an awestruck child. "Two stories of toys, you have to be kidding?!" This place is paradise for anyone with a young heart and a young mind! Check it out for sure!!! more

A gem of a store 7/14/2006

Magic Mouse Toys is an eclectic and wonderful little toy shop located on the corner of Yesler and 1st Ave in Seattle. This three level shop is packed full of unique and classic toys alike. Both parent and child can spend hours perusing the aisles and playing with their variety! Adults will find amusement in some of their political propaganda that they have out by the register, which, while it may offend some, is something that you wouldn't find in a larger, more corporate toy store! They have nearly anything that you could imagine and their staff is friendly and knowledgeable! My favorite find there was a card feature illustrations from "Where the Wild Things Are" a classic children's book :) more

Wow 6/29/2006

You haven't been to a toy store until you've been to this one. This is definintely a "magical" experience. They have the super hard to find toys, and the ones that kids will actually learn from and play with well into their later years, and the younger kids, cousins and grandkids will find them useful too. These are the toys that have been around for ages and that work, along with some much newer ones that get the imagination rolling....expensive but can you put a price on your child's imagination? more

Excellent! 4/21/2006

This is THE place for unique, educational toys - you know the kind: old fashioned wooden puzzles, books, puppets, REAL toys. Nothing here needs batteries or has an on/off switch, and I like that. I like it a lot! You need an imagination to enjoy these toys and you can't help but be transported back to your childhood upon crossing the threshold of the Magic Mouse. Good clean FUN! more

Best toy store in town 1/5/2006

Walk in to this two story building and you'll feel like a kid again. Since FAO Schwartz bit the big one this is really the best place to go for all your children-type needs. Parking is not easy, since it's right in Pioneer Square, but if you're in for an afternoon of shopping you may as well go pick up a new Monopoly or Scrabble board for your not-so-young friends. more

Fanciful 12/17/2005

You know a toy store is doing something right when adults as well as children want to shop there. Such is the case at Magic Mouse. The top floor is home to expensive stuffed animals and other assorted small toys. The basement contains sale items, whole room dedicated to puzzles, and books. They also sell some politically motivated "toys" here for adults. Customer service is unobtrusive yet helpful and prices are average. more

Greatest store in the world 12/17/2005

I don’t have kids but I love going to this toy store. There are so many intelligent toys here: chemistry sets, science sets, models, puzzles, books. Even the colouring books are intelligent. Instead of Barbie, you have Pagan Heroes from the 12th Century AD colouring books. Great book selection too. Multi-level store that I spend at least an hour in every time I go there. It’s always fun seeing what new and neat things they have. Large selection of Hello Kitty items. No Barbie here, though. Fun gag-gifts. They always seem to be hiring, so if you like playing with toys, check out the front window to see if they’re looking for “elves”. Staff is friendly and helpful and they definitely don’t mind you playing with the toys while you look around. Located in Pioneer Square, across the street from the Pergola on 1st Ave S. more

Fun for kiddies and their adults 10/17/2005

This is one of the few places an adult can feel free to be a kid again! Stocked to the ceiling with the toys you once played with as a child like Lincoln Logs and Shrinky Dinks, they have it all. From hard to find board games to the latest electronic gadgets, and everything in between, this two storey toy shop is the best you'll find in the northwest. Even better, it's located in the heart of Pioneer Square in Seattle. more

Great Non-Conventional Toy Store 10/8/2005

I think that more children (and their parents) should be exposed to the wonderful toys found inside Magic Mouse. Nearly everything has an educational slant to it and there are no toys comprised of meaningless violence and gratiuitious hate as are toys often found in mainstream toy-stores in malls across America. This is the toy - store for intellectual children. The games and toys here promote thought and creativity. The paper-dolls here aren't of Barbie and her friends, but rather 'First Ladies of America" or "Figures from King Arthur's Court". The books are smart and of a higher level of functioning. Many of the toys are actually scientific, including real microscopes and chemistry sets. Multi-levels with so many fun things. As an adult I go in here and don't want to leave---I couldn't imagine being a child...I'd be in heaven, I think. more

My kids LOVE this place! 10/3/2005

Best described as a mini-FAO Scwartz. There are lots of fun classic toys. Due to location I don't go very often (think Pioneer Square), however anytime I'm in need of an interesting gift for another child we go here. One gets tired of seeing the same old junky, throw away toys at all of the other stores. I would suggest checking them out if you haven't already! more

Magical 9/8/2005

You know a toy store is good when adults start walking through it sans children. Magic Mouse has a wonderful selection unique toys and games. The store is two floors and carries a big selection of stuffed animals and dolls. They also have the kinds of toys that encourages a child's imagination. The selection here spans the globe. This is also just a great place to walk through when you are having an exceptionally bad day. Its colorful collection is fun and good for your child's development. more

The Toy Store for SMART kids 8/20/2005

Wow. Multi Levels of Toy Fun. I don't even have kids but would think of having them just so I could shower them with the not-dumbed-down toys and activities they sell here. You'll find not a single Barbie or GI Joe on the shelves here, but plenty of Science kits, telescopes, gyroscopes, and things that are even beyond MY comprehension. This is the toy store for smart kids with cool parents. Want a coloring book? You'll find no Scooby Do coloring books here--instead, you'll find one with Shakespearian characters, or King Arthur, or SIlent Movie Stars to color in. This store is beyond comprehension. It's not cheap by any means, but they have some neat things here that I've never seen at any other toy store! more

I enjoy going down there and just looking around and feeling like I am young again. Great place to grab a gift. If you are tired of shopping at walmart, toys r us, target for toys, than Magic Mouse is the place for you. I reccomend!!! more

Abracadabra! A good toy store. 8/18/2005

With the closure of FAO Schwarz, I think this is the only good toy store in Seattle. And, unlike FAO, the merchandise is not ridiculously overpriced. Thousands of cool items you will not find anywhere else. Bargain basement type items to awesome remote control cars, expensive dolls and Steiff stuffed toys. During the holidays, I always visit. There still that part of me that wants Grandma to buy me the Legoland Monorail for. more

A Truly Magical Toy Store 8/17/2005

Ever since I was a wee lad, I have loved going into Magic Mouse Toys. It has always amazed me how there could be this magical oasis in the middle of the big and dirty city. It's not like your typical big box toy store. It has character, and there seems to be more of a focus on educational toys (which I sadly admit, I loved as a child). I think this is a great place for anybody to go; whether you are a child, have children, or are just a child at heart. It can help you create your own magical memories. more

Home of the Squiggle Ball 8/17/2005

My kids love going to Pioneer Square and the main reason is Magic Mouse Toys—it’s two floors of crowded fun. Check out the squiggle balls running around the store. Talk to the Parrot on the stairs. Play with the Darda cars in the basement. Check out the “collector” cars, planes, trains and so much more in such a small space. more

a joy in Pioneer Square 8/16/2005

this place is a joy in pioneer square. A refreshing place to escape the crowds. Lots of toys catering to different age groups. There are some cheesy, cheap, little pranks for partying. They also carry some German train models, card games, children books, tarot cards, chess sets, plush toys, etc. Bring an adult in and he/she will feel like a kid again! more

Magic Mouse Toys - A Wonderful Departure from the Hell that is Toys 'R Us 7/13/2005

If you're like me, the thought of going to a big box retailer for anything is enough to drive you mad. I always appreciate the little guys that manage to stay open in the face of dogged competition from the big boys. This certainly applies to Magic Mouse Toys. This store has been around forever and doesn't appear to be going anywhere soon. While the place is relatively small and the breadth assortment somewhat limited as a result, the quality of the assortment is what matters. My wife and I were shopping for a b-day present for our 3 y.o. niece and we spent a good 45 minutes in the store trying to choose the perfect present. Not because we couldn't find anything but rather because we found too many items we knew she'd love! We ended up settling on a couple of dress up goodies and a set of linkin' logs. Good stuff and good times at Magic Mouse Toys. more

REAL Toys! 7/12/2005

Magic Mouse Toys kicks butt! Located in the heart of Pioneer Square it is worth the visit. Here you will find all of the classics you had as a kid, your parents had as kids, and your grandparents! In the age of handheld computer games and the forbidden bratz dolls (ack!) Magic Mouse offers toys that promote imagination and fun. While its a fairly small location it is packed and continues into the basement. The basement also offers lots of cool science experiement types of things and a cool book selection. more
