itex members beware!!!!! 7/2/2011

my family and I were looking forward in using our Itex points to stay in the lux. we called three months ahead of time and the owner said that he only books itex members 2wks prior to stay. we understood his point. we called him 2wks prior, booked the stay, took our Itex points.we were booked, bought our tickets to fly out there...three days prior to our trip he decides to take our room from under us and gave it to some one else (great customer service hum?) he was also price gauging, ex: there webpage said $269 a night, he was charging $465 Itex POINTS!!!! broker in LA defended his price and said""we were lucky to even have him"" how lucky can you get? more

Not For Sleeping. 12/19/2010

Two stars for the beautiful rooms and friendly staff, but that's it. Walls are too thin to get ANY sleep. There was a party below me that was so loud that I called the front desk and they said it was just letting up, but that went on for another 45 minutes until 1 am. Then, at 4 am, the room next to me starts playing the tv so loudly that I can actually understand every word. So I called the front desk and they sent security up. It shut off but I shouldn't have been woken up to begin with. Then, at 8 am, ON A SUNDAY MORNING MIGHT I ADD, the gardner starts going at it right outside my window making the most irritating sounds known to mankind. Too loud to muffle. Maids or someone in the hallway start opeing and slamming doors for another hour as well. NO REST. NO SLEEP. not happy. more

beautiful wedding spot 4/16/2007

I actually went to this hotel this past weekend for a wedding, and the decor was simplistic yet stunning. The wedding took place outside in the outdoors, which had minimal decoration, but the area was extremely serene with stone fountains and an Asiatic vibe. The indoor reception was even more beautiful, decorated with simple greens and whites; It seemed very upscale without looking too pretentious. more

Really Great Experience!!! 1/30/2007

I visited the Luxe on a total whim, and my stay ended up being fantastic. The location was great! It was so nice to find a peaceful place to stay in Los Angeles...for once. The accomodations and staff are definately one my top five now!! My room was VERY comfortable and I would definately recommend this facility to anyone who wanted to really enjoy a stay in L.A. with out having to deal with any trouble! Pros: Really great location! Cons: A bit expensive...but well worth it! more

Absolute Nightmare! 1/26/2007

I was at the hotel a few weeks ago and this is what I found. First off I was greeted by a front desk staff of smiles, the only redeeming quality about this place, I was then put into a room with moldy grout and a door that the keys never opened the door. On one occasion I returned to my room to find a insect larger than the apples that are so perfectly placed on their front reception area crawling on the floor in my room. I would only recomend the Luxe hotel if you wanted to go camping with a friendly group of people working on the grounds. more

Great location to Getty 11/29/2006

Having recently renovated this past year, this hotel went from dump to Trump! It's hard to believe that you are seconds away from the 405, but barely hear a sound. Everything has been reworked in the trendy minimalist style with walls painted a brownish-charcoal and decorated with varying hues of black, white, and natural. I recommend the Oasis Lounge and definitely try their appetizers. more

A good but expensive hotel. 5/18/2004

I stayed here for 5 days in a single room with king bed. The service here was good. However, the amenity of the room was a little bit old-fashioned. Although every room had a small courtyard, there was no boudary. That was not private enough. There were actually many bus stops near the hotel, both on the Sunset blvd and Church lane. Not necessary to take taxi everytime. Generally speaking, this is a good hotel but a little bit over-priced. Pros: Good service, Spacious, Good environment more

it's a dump 10/19/2002

i was in LA for a week visit - first I stayed at the Sofitel, which was a superb hotel. Then I went to Las Vegas and stayed at Mandalay Bay - which was also excellent. Finally, for my last two nites in LA I made a mistake and stayed at the Luxe Summit - it was a dump, everything was old and had the old vintage garage sale smell. Don't stay unless you enjoy a typical Marriott. Pros: inexpensive, bel air, sunset blvd Cons: old, run down, smells, insects more
