Lucky Strike. The name alone suggests that this is a bowling alley first and foremost. It was not named to be a bar, or a pool hall, but a bowling alley. As such, I would have ...

bar service 10/21/2010

the bar looks great & has a good menu, but patience is a virtue here. it took 10 minutes & 3 requests to get a beer in the comfy sofas. then it came in a broken glass. at least the server didn't charge. for being so convenient to theaters, the staff should be more attentive. this place could make that more profits. more

Fun, Different Night Out! 6/22/2010

Went here with some friends I was visiting, and we had a great time. I love the idea of the lounge, bar, bowling alley hybrid. The drinks were really good, at a totally reasonable price. I'd definitely recommend checking it out! Pros: strong drinks, cool atmosphere more

Have Fun Bowling Without Bowling 2/15/2010

I have been there a couple times now and love it. I am not a big bowler, but I had fun even when I wasn't throwing a gutter ball. Most bowling alleys are boring when you go with a group because there is nothing to keep your attention as you wait, especially if you don't really like to bowl. This place has amazing tv screens and don't only play one sport . Overstimulated is a great way. Drinks are not too expensive either considering the location. Pros: clean/shiny/ fun Cons: parking - but cost of city living more

fun hangout spot! 7/9/2009

I hang out at the lucky strike in miami every once in a while and love it. was in chicago recently and checked this one out, and was impressed that this one lived up! the atmosphere is great, and the drinks and food are good. it's a great place to take a group of friends for a fun evening out. Pros: food, people, drinks more

I remember one opened near our house in washington. i figured we'd check it out and see what it was all about. i actually liked it. we went at night. there were no kids runnig around, which was a plus for me! Pros: service, good environment more

Lucky Strikes - Expectations Too High!!! 12/10/2008

I like Lucky Strikes, and was really enthusiastic to have a birthday celebration there. I love the mature adults the venue attracts and especially accepts after a certain hour (I think 9pm). It's a good way to meet people. vibe, chill, and involve yourself in bowling, pool, the bar, or the restaurant. And the great part is that the movie theater is one floor above. However, they overcharge people. Just for holding a lane, renting shoes, and playing a game of bowling was at least $100 if not below. It was a nice thought...but my friends and I ended up walking out. more

Sit Anywhere You Like, Except Where You Want! 5/28/2008

My girlfriend and I recently went to this bar-restaurant when we had an hour to pass before our movie started at the adjoining AMC theater. We were well-dressed and in a good mood on a holiday at around 7:00 p.m.. The establishment's young, African-American hostess asked us whether we were there for dinner and we said no, as we were there for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. She then said, ""Oh, you can sit in the bar."" The bar is huge with both tables and booths that seat roughly eight people. In this entire establishment, there was only one other couple. We chose a table for four since there were no tables for two. The hostess then came back and said that we had to sit at the bar or in the other room if we were not going to eat dinner. We were a bit put-off by this as my date and I had no desire to ""belly-up to the bar"" while we had our appetizers and drinks. Therefore, the two of us walked to the other room but found that the bartender was all alone, in another gigantic room, watching TV (above the bar). There were no waitresses to serve the tables in that section. When we went back to tell the hostess this, she was extremely rude. We then told her that we would go somewhere else and that we had no intention of returning -- ever. Stay away from this place -- the staff is rude and it seems as though it's doing horribly! more

Dress Code Ra**st 5/25/2008

Simply put I used to love going to this place until they added a ""dress code."" I was there onetime, saw the dress code and walked up to the hostess who happened to be african american. I told her that I would not be staying and that the reason was because i found the dress code to be ra**st. She leaned in and said thatnk you very much, and tat she agreed with me. Here are a few of the things that they have listed: chain jewelry, no construction boots, not athletic attire. Please join me in boycotting the place and getting them to get rid of the dress code. Pros: Location Cons: There attitudes towards race. more

Expensive pricing for sub-par bowling 5/23/2008

Lucky Strike. The name alone suggests that this is a bowling alley first and foremost. It was not named to be a bar, or a pool hall, but a bowling alley. As such, I would have expected the expensive price to reflect this in the quality of bowling. I was wrong. more

Rude and inconsistent! 3/16/2008

If you are looking for a place to bowl, stay away from Lucky Strike! Their staff is rude and unpleasant to deal with. They are also very inconsistent with their policies. This is one customer who will not be returning. Pros: N/A Cons: Service more

worst Restraunt Manager I have ever encountered! 2/16/2008

If you want to be insulted, have awful service and have your bowling interupted by failing equipment- then go to Lucky Strike...... but be warned- don't complain that you just spent $75 on bowling (yes only bowling, not food) and the failing equipment, because the manager will think you are interupting him doing nothing!! And what ever you do, don't ask for him to compensate your bowling game that was not finished, interupted due to the equipment not working, because he will not do ANYTHING for you- won't even give you a free game or buy you a coke- If you want to waste your money- go to Lucky Strike. If you want to be insulted- go to Lucky Strike, if you want to feel like the establishment you are at doesn't care if you are there or not- then go to Lucky Strike. Cons: Worst Restaruent Management ever!!! more

Great for Friends and Fun!! 1/31/2008

Recently I attended Lucky Strike Lanes for a work party. I didn't even know this place was there! I have gone back a few times now with other coworkers and friends and it's just a great place to relax. The flank steak sandwich and turkey burger are the best on the menu. The menu prices are routine but the bowling prices are a little costly. The service is layed back and chill so if you?re willing to put out some money and have a small party with a personal server it's well worth it. Plus the staff is totally good looking!!! more

WARNING: Do not use credit cards here - #s being stolen 10/8/2007

My girlfriend on a I visited. We love the regulation size tables, but are 99% sure our credit card numbers were stolen here and used in Hawaii and Mexico. I will recant this entry if I hear that some employee has been arrested but so far management is indifferent. We have not lost any money because we were contacted by our credit card companies. We visited on 3 seperate Saturday afternoons. Please be careful and do not leave your card to open up a tab. Pool and food is fun. Even before this fiasco, service was mediocre at best. Pros: Lots of regulation size pool tables that are real without needing coins. Cons: Credit Card Numbers Stolen more

Alright...would have been awesome if my company was paying for it or something like that 10/5/2007

$20 bucks for a few games of pool?! The drinks were expensive too..and the nachos were nast. Homeboy had run off with my boyfriends credit card, we had been really to bounce but were waiting on him. Pros: Way more fun of a date than the movies! Cons: My boyfriend looked nice but had to take his hat off-come on! The hat was Prada :) more

Great ambience, but the service... service... hello... waitress? 3/3/2007

Lucky Stikes is a combination sports bar, bowling alley, and pool hall. It comes across as very cool and is pretty hip and swanky. Couches and tables are cozy and romantic, and bowling alley itself is chic. Service is below average; waiting time for beverages and food is very long. The food and the beverages itself were good. The prices for the services (bowling and pool) are steep. Pros: Good food; great atmosphere. Cons: Service poor; expensive to play games. more

Don't Bother !! 2/23/2007

I have experienced LS 3 times. I will never go there again! There is an element of racial profiling/intolerance at this place. I was there recently Saturday mid-afternoon with my 3 nephews. We are all African-American. The hostess was very condescending in the manner that she spoke to us. She talked to us as if we didn't belong at LS. We were dressed well and didn't violate t the dress code as stated on the large sign. I am also very articulate and curteous. I noticed that other AF-AM's were spoken to in the same tone. However when Causians approached -the hostess was all smiles and ""Sally Sunshine"" pleasant. It took 15 minutes for the ""alleged waitress"" to come to the table and take our food order. I had to tell her we would like beverages first. The waitress was rude to my nephews as well. I never rec'd a refill for my coke because she never came back to the table. My nephews wanted dessert. They didn't get it at LS . Why? The next appearance of the waitress was to drop the check on the table. She didn't ask if we wanted dessert. So I took my nephews to a friendly place for dessert.. Dang it I never got to order my lemon martini either- I guess pleasantry is too much to expect from a bowling establishment. Also there was an Indian woman who asked the hostess for the manager's name etc. The hostess wouldn't give it to her. When the lady walked away - the hostess commented to another hostess that the lady just wanted to complain about her so she didn't provide the info. Pros: Convenience when visiting movie theater Cons: Poor service more

WORST EXPERIENCE 2/18/2007

I live down the street from Lucky Strikes Lanes. All of my friends and coworkers warned me not to go here b/c they ""have the worst service"" but I thought I would try it for myself. They were absolutely right. The hostess was very rude. A waiter spilled some kind of sauce on the floor which got all over my coat and no one apologized after we mentioned it! We waited for about 15 minutes or so after being seated and there was no waitress/waiter that came to our table. We ended up going to the bar to get our first round of drinks b/c we thought that there was no waitstaff. Finally AFTER we got our own drinks, someone came to our table. He was VERY rude because we ordered from the bar. If he were around to take our order then we would not have gone to the bar in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This experience ruined our night! Living down the street I was real excited to have a new local bar/restaurant to go to but I will NEVER return. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Tourist, if you are in the area, go somewhere else. Do not waste your time here! I should have listened to my friends! more

Horrible service and long waits for bowling 12/20/2006

The staff at Lucky Strike was pretentious and the place itself is not as classy as it would like to be. We waited an extra half-hour on top of the hour they expected for a lane while they ?cleaned up after a large party?. Between the bar, billiards, and bowling its very spacious but they seem understaffed to handle such a space. The bowling lanes are cramped and there is no oil on the lanes making bowling very unenjoyable. Decent for appetizers/drinks not for bowling. Pros: Mashed Potato Rolls Cons: Bowling, service, prices more

Slow and Bad Service 11/20/2006

It is convenient if you are going to a movie and the mac and cheese calls are good. But, that is it. I have never received good service here and it is pretty pricey. more
