I RENTED THIS TRUCK FOR 4 HOURS AND THESE PEOPLE WANTED TO CHARGE ME $267 DOLLARS, I THINK NOT. AND OF COURSE MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY WAS ON MY SIDE, WHAT LOSERS, I WOULD GO ANOTHER ROUGHT IF I WERE YOU, THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS. more

I have recently used Longhorn truck rentals and the service was fantastic I would recommend this car renal to overseas travelers as the personal service is much better than large car renal companies. This is a serious and well run company. more

I've rented from Longhorn 4 times now and have had a great experience each time. I rented a smaller car each time (not a truck) for personal and business use while visiting Austin, and again when I moved to Austin last week. \r \r 1. The prices are better than any corporate chain or small/local place around.\r \r 2. The service is SUPER friendly. I know the other reviews say otherwise, but I've been here four times now, over the course of two years, and I've ALWAYS experienced friendly and competent service.\r \r 3. They do not charge an extra fee for being under 25. This is huge for me, as I am 24 years old, and virtually all other rental companies charge me an extra fee per day (which is very frustrating as a traveling business owner and responsible driver). I'm really grateful that Longhorn doesn't impose this unreasonable fee. \r \r I dealt with Jesse my first couple of times there, but honestly I found the whole staff to be friendly and helpful. I did return the car a couple of hours late once (because of massive traffic) - called in advance and had no extra charges. \r \r I highly recommend Longhorn to anyone renting in Austin, and have to say it's the only reasonable choice for drivers under 25. more

This was a horrible expeirence. The rental agents, who it turns out are "managers" are incredibly rude. I was overcharged, lied to and they tacked on all kinds of insurance policies, told me they were mandatory and having just moved here I trusted them. Pros: null Cons: null more

My company rented a truck for one month ($1500) while we shopped for a new truck to purchase. Everything was fine until AFTER we returned it. ONE WEEK after the return we received a call that the radiator was damaged by a rock and we would be receiving an invoice for $700. We explained that not only did we drive the truck very little, we did not have any knowledge of damage. The rude individual on the phone stated that if we refused to pay the $700 invoice he would be filing a suit against us. more

From the get-go, I was leary, but at the time I had no choice. The quote over the phone was not what it was in person. The car was dirty when I picked it up, the employee at the desk was rude and did not want to check my insurance, i have a company that has 24 hour verification, this dude was lazy. more

HORRIBLE RIP OFF!!!! These folks are out to screw you over. Do not use them unless you have money to burn... Do yourself a favor more

Longhorn car rentals is by far the worst place I've been to when it comes to car renting. I was not only treated awfully on the phone, but also in person. They gave me no helpful information yet alone bad customer service. I went to three car rental places that day and this one was the worst. Therefore I would never recommend it to no one I know or anybody in general. more

I was treated rudely by one particular person, This person never explained that I had to have a physical damage waiver and just added it to my rental car. The compact car I rented was not clean and it smelled of smoke. Pros: Great rates more

My wife and I moved recently from Dripping Springs to Johnson City. We checked out our options with the "big boys", even in our home town, and then saw an ad on TV about Longhorn Rental. Thank goodness for seeing that ad!!! We called them and reserved a 24' truck for several days and were given all the details concerning their policies and requirements for renting from them. I had them repeat the cost for mileage because it was six times less than the other guys, which was going to be an incredible difference in our total rental expense. Pros: Customer service was the best we have ever experienced! Cons: More people need to know about them! more

I showed up at LongHorn rentals to rent a 15 passenger van and was greeted by very nice counter staff. They smiled as I entered and got my van rental taken care of very quickly. When I returned the van it was even easier than picking it. They were alot less expensive than everywhere else and the van was new and extremely clean. I highly recomend LongHorn rentals to everyone looking for a fast and friendly car rental agency. Pros: Friendly service and a even better Staff Cons: none what so ever more

i walked into longhorn rentals happy to be able to support a local business. however the employee i had to deal with seemed very agitated with my needs. i became tired of his tone of speech and walked out and rode the bus home to north austin. i will not return. more

I tried renting from a larger company but I sat on hold for over half an hour only to be told that the vehicle I needed was not available for the time I needed. Longhorn gave me a quote and reserved my vehicle in under 5 minutes! They were fast and friendly throughout the check in and out process, and the van I rented was very clean. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for an easy and satisfying car rental experience! Pros: Fast, friendly, and affordable Cons: none that I found more

I have rented from Longhorn for the last 2 1/2 years and each time has been as pleasant as the time before. I have rented trucks, mini vans and cars and each time the process went smoothly, the cost was within reason and the staff always went out of their way to help me. They always had my reservation ready with minimum wait time. Any time I was running late all I had to do is call and they worked with me. I have rented with other companies and this one is by far the best. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Pros: Friendliest knowledgeable staff Cons: none more

I chose this place because it opened at 7:30am and I had to be at work at 8:30am. Well, they didnt even open until after 7:45am. Then at 8:10am they told me that they could not take my visa debit card either cause they dont accept any type of debit card. So they basically left me stranded and would not help me at all and were very rude. So now I had 20 minutes to get to work on the other side of town with no car. No customer service at all. I would never use them in a million years. Saving $5 here is not worth being two hours late to work and being treated so unprofessionally! I should have read the last users review before going there! They left us standing at the airport for an hour and half.\r I asked for something to offset the inconvenience and CJ the manager said he would take $5.00 per day. Great\r It still didn't make up for the fact that I was 3 hours late to an appointment in Fredricksburg. \r I received my credit card bill and they had not taken off the $5..00 per day as a matter of fact the added $4.00 for 2 hours of parking because I left it at the airport.\r Enough said for trust and customer service. \r Rent from the big guys, you pay a little more but it is worth it. more

Have a superintendent working in Austin and his truck broke down. Was able to quickly locate truck at Lonestar and the staff was polite, friendly and extremely accommodating. more

I needed to move and had reserved a truck with U-Haul, but when I got to the location (on my moving day) they had nothing for me. I needed a truck fast and called Longhorn for a pickup. I was very pleased. They were completely accommodating and gave me a great truck at a cheap price! They were also very flexible with the timing of return. more
