Best masseuse ever! UPDATE 12/1/2009

Gene Fruchtman, as mentioned in my previous review for Robert Leonard, has moved on. He now runs his own massage and personal training business and can be reached at (206) 234-9855. His massages are still as fabulous as ever. more

bad talking 1/25/2009

If you like your stylist talking bad about you behind your back then this is the place for you! This was at one time a great place, but out w/the old and in w/the new has turned this pace into somewhere I'd avoid unless you liked to be bad mouthed about to their other client's more

Andrea just arrived at Robert Leonard Salon! 12/31/2006

My hair stylist, who is very skilled with ethnic hair, has just moved over to Robert Leonard. I have seen her twice at this salon and I enjoy the location. Many other salons attempt to create a spa atmosphere and Robert Leonard does a good job. I do not know much about the other stylists, but I am told that many have been there for several years. My former salon, RED, lost a majority of their stylist, which is a bummer for the clients. So, I much prefer a salon that has happy employees. So, if you have curly or kinky hair and are in need of a stylist with excellent scissor skills, give Andrea a call. Uhm, since Andrea is Italian she's very skilled with Caucasian hair, but it's much easier to find a stylist to do straight or wavy hair. It's the curly girls who suffer under the hands of hesitant stylist when seeking a silky blow out, flat iron, or a cut that emphasizes the beauty of our hair. My only negative about this salon is the waiting area and changing closets. It's too small. Luckily, I haven't needed to wait longer than 3 minutes for Andrea. more

Erica Chang for Hair - Absolutely Amazing 8/4/2006

Erica Chang a hairstylist at Robert Leonard Salon is an artist above and beyond. She is so sweet, truly listens to your needs, and does exactly what you would like, and if you don't know what you want, she will help you look amazing. Erica Chang is by far the best hair stylist in Seattle. Class, exactness and personality describe her attributes, I highly recommend :) more

Shane~ the best stylist 7/28/2006

Go to Robert Leonard ~ The staff at Robert Leonard are happy and professional, they must be treated very well. Shane in particular is excellent. He is very skilled at identifying your hair type and personality when choosing a style for you. After moving out of state for many years I returned to Olympia and the first thing I did was call Shane. I drove all the way up just to get a cut by him. He is always honest about what will work and what wont with my hair type and I always walk out feeling great. I could not be more pleased with the service at Robert Leonard. more

I used to get my hair cut and found it to be very unfriendly to men. I had a couple small requests refused which is unheard of in a salon at this price range. more

The Best Place to Have Your Brows Done..... 5/15/2006

Esthetician Kimberly does the best brows in town. She is truly an artist. After having my brows done by a few different spas around town, I had them done by Kimberly and she is way ahead of the pack. She consistently does incredible work. One appoinment with Kimberly and you will not let anyone else touch your brows. more

Melanie Wade at Robert Leonard is an outstanding stylist! 4/3/2006

Melanie did my hair for two years and is really the best. I quit going here somewhat regretfully, but just had a hard time justifying spending a lot of money on my hair. But I agree with other posters--RL is an amazing salon. I've had cuts, coloring, manis, pedis, massages here, all top-notch. You do get what you pay for. more

Loved it here 3/29/2006

I got my hair cut and done here for my cousin's wedding. I don't remember the name of my stylist (sorry! Rebecca maybe? Short gal, blonde hair). She was great! I felt so great in this place, very comfortable, which is weird to feel "comfortable" in a hair salon. I'm not a beauty fashionista so I typically won't go back to a salon is there's too much posturing going on. I just wanted a good solid cute cut and a nice do, and I got one. The price was reasonable and well worth it. I'm glad I paid what I paid for what I got, because in salons, you usually get overcharged for crappy performance, but not at Robert Leonard. They had a professional, courteous staff, used to dealing with Seattle's old money, not the fly by night flaky people with overly trendy dos. This was the best haircut and style I'd ever had in my life. I would definitely go back to her and them when I need a special styling for my hair. more

Ask for Rudy! 3/24/2006

I have previously seen Rudy at Robert Leonard for many haircuts and highlights. He does a phenomenal job and is great at styling and cutting your hair to fit YOU. He's a bit pricey, but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I stopped seeing Rudy because at the time, he had crazy summer hours that didn't work with my schedule. Hopefully that won't be an issue for you. Word of advice...try to park on the street with the metered parking. You'll save an arm and a leg! more

Best of the best! 3/14/2006

I got a haircut from Randy at Robert Leonard and it was the best haircut I've gotten. I really need to get back to him! The whole ambiance of this salon is extremely relaxing and calm. There's tons of natural light pouring in from the large windows, and I enjoyed being in a robe instead of in my normal shirt. I would suggest Randy (and Robert Leonard) to anyone! more

Good at first, then went down the drain... 8/30/2005

I started going there a year ago. At first, my stylist was great, and then she started doing everything I did not want done to my hair. Now I look like a freaking skunk and my hair is fried! The people are super rude and think they are the upper crust of society. I got news for you, "It's a stupid salon! Last time I checked you have to cater to society, you are not part of it!" The man at the front desk literally said to me, "Miss, we have organic fresh fruit and Avon water, please do help yourself!" BLAH to Avon water and men that think they are sauve and sleek. more

Best massuse ever! 8/10/2005

Gene Fruchtman at Robert Leonard's Salon in downtown Seattle is the absolute best. I've had massages all over the world, so I say this with absolute conviction. Gene has a background in physical fitness and sports medicine, and is very in tune with the connector points that cause tensions and misalignments. I've literally felt I've grown two inches after a massage with Gene, so good is he at fixing ailments. Gene has a unique style that it is a mix of deep-tissue, Thai, and shiatzu. Cost for an hour and a half is $100. more

Best Hairstylist 3/9/2005

Shannon has been cutting my hair for close to 10 years and I've followed her from her early days at the Gene Juarez Training Salon. She's pretty pricey, but worth it because she is not afraid to offer suggestions when I need to try something new, etc. more
