After using leif's for the third time in as many years, we would recommend them to anyone who wants it done right and fights for factory parts. Robbie told us from the beginning how farmer 's would try to use cheap parts on our car. Leif personally stepped in and met with farmers and us and forced them to use a factory hood and fender. the job came out beautiful, on time and we didn't pay anthing extra. they even paid for the rental after Farmers stopped paying. Great service, people on here are whiners! 2/23/2010

I was broadsided by an uninsured driver in my Jeep and when I called Leif's to set up my repairs, they were able to get a truck out to pick up my Jeep within an hour. It was on it's way and work was underway within 24 hours. The timeframe for the work was said to be about 2-3 weeks, and it was right at 3 weeks upon my receiving it back. Robbie was excellent at the NE portland location. He kept in touch with me about what was going on with the Jeep the entire time and when it was done, he was quick to process the final paperwork and get me back on the road. Kudos to all at Leif's who made my Jeep as good as new again. Excellent experience, would recommend them to everyone! I have taken my car to Leif's several times thru the years and have had nothing short of a great experience each time. I guess some people have a hard time copeing with the fact that vehicle's only looses value each day and being in an accident of any kind, only makes it loose more value. I'm very pleased 4/27/2009

I'm very pleased how Leif's takes great pride in taking care of their customers. I got some great news last week from the insurance company that was working with my claim. They agreed to reimburse me for the total cost of my rental car after weeks of frustration and combat! Mark helped me out tremendously. Thanks to his assistance and guidance, things ended up working out as they should have. Pros: Great easy going people Cons: Don't know of any more

Terrible Shop Don't TRUST THEM... 2/25/2009

On delivery date while my vehicle was in Leif?s facility I do a quick inspection on my car and I notice that yes there was missing my stereo I tell Kevin Leif?s employee and he made a note for Mr. Leif. In addition, I talk to Mr. Mark my sales adviser the next day and he demand for stereo invoice. I do send every copy that I have proving that my stereo was in my vehicle, as well the original stereo invoice. Mark call me a few hours later and left a voice message saying that this case was been forwarded to Mr. Leif (owner) by e-mail and one of his insurance personal should call me soon. Pros: I'm sure Leif bends over a lot to pay favors to authorities, since he is immune to complains Cons: Takes forever and Customer Service never fallow up. more

Did a nice job on my car 2/10/2009

I took my 98 jeep cherokee...not the nicest car in the world but it ran good. Anyway, I feel victim to our recent snow storm and decided to take my car to Leif's since my brother had his car there and liked their service. My car ended up having a lot of damage but the insurance company decided not to total it which I wasn't sure if that was a good idea or not at first but now that I have my car back I am very happy. It looks much better than when it went in for repairs. The only criticism that I have for Leifs is that they may need more people at there tigard location. The day I visited there were at least ten people in the lobby all dropping off there car as i was. I was definately helped in a timely manner but they can certainly use more staff people for the amount of work they do. I was told they were busy do to the weather but everything ended up great and i felt pretty involved in the work that was done on my car. I would recommend them. Never even got an 'estimate' and I am STILL disgusted 2/9/2009

I decided to get an estimate from Leif's after hearing their radio ad's thinking that they have the consumer in mind. I called to find out business hours and was asked a series of rapid fire question by a gruff gentleman and was told to bring my car into the nearest location. I went in where another gentleman came out to look at my car and in order to get the estimate TOOK PICTURES that he said he would send to the corporate office where they would generate an estimate BASED ON THREE PHOTOGRAPHS!!!! He said I would most likely have the estimate the next day. Two weeks and no estimate later I called and talk to the same gentleman that had taken the pictures, he explained that the paperwork had gotten lost in a mix up and that I would receive the estimate via e-mail within one to two days. Another week later and we arrive at today, three weeks from when I first took my vehicle in. I had already made up my mind not to use Leif's services and decided to call and let them know not to bother with the estimate and that I would be sharing my experience. The woman that answered the phone stopped me mid sentence to put me on hold and then the phone was answered by some gentleman who listened to my story and I told him that I had heard nothing but horror stories about Leif's since I had taken my car in for the ""estimate"" and that I had been appalled with every aspect of their customer service. He merely said ""I'm sorry to hear that."" I thanked him for his apology and then waited, in vain, for anything else. After about 15 seconds I said ""Well I guess that's it."" At which point he literally said ""Alright"" and I hung up. Don't even waste your time driving to one of their locations, life is too short. Cons: HORRID customer service, rude phone operaters, NEVER recieved estimate. more

The WORST experience ever 2/5/2009

The WORST experience ever. The lie to you upfront about how fast they can repair, and once the car is in their shop it takes MONTHS to finish. My car rental benefits 930 day seems to be reasonable!) run out, and I had to pay for 3 additional weeks. Anywhere BUT Leif's. Cons: shoddy practices and dishonest staff more

I did and I'm still paying the have it fixed just so that I can drive it. POOR POOR craftsmanship to the point of giving back your car in an unsafe condition, and when asked to fix it they say they can't find anything wrong with it. Pros: They have good lawyers on staff. Cons: But they are not thier to help you but fight you sueing them! more

Terrible Shop - Slow and Poor Quality 9/17/2008

I had a small repar from a rear end collision. The estimate was less than a week in the shop, but I didn't get my car back until 7 weeks. I am the victim of an accident and because of them I am at a loss of almost $1000 in rental expenses. Insurance companies are not responsible for excessive needless delays caused by body shops and now my only option is to hire an arbitrator to recover my loss from Leifs. Which isn't worth it - but I shall out of principle. (they force you to sign a binding arbitration agreement with their service contract - so small claims court is out of the question). Do not use Leifs. more

I had my vehicle repaired about 3 months ago by another shop here in Portland, and got my car back and I thought they did an okay job. However, I started to notice rust on my bumper from all the rain, and my car was never really quiet the same after I got it back. I took it back to the shop where I had it repaired, and they said there was nothing they could do about it, and that everything looked fine to them. I started to worry about my car, and wondered what else might go wrong with it in the future. That's when I took my car to Leifs Auto Collision Repair. I spoke to a guy named Bob on the phone and told him my issues. He told me to bring the car by to address some of my concerns. I took my car to there tigard location, which is huge for those of you who have not seen it. Bob was incredibly helpful in inspecting my car, he noticed a few physical things like the bumper not fitting correctly or the back panel. To my surprise Bob went and got the owner of the company to look at my vehicle. Mr. Hansen went over every inch of the car, and asked me if he could take the car inside so him and his mechanic could look over it. Of course I said yes, I wanted to know what was wrong with my car. I provided Mr. Hansen with the invoice of everything that was done to my car 3 months earlier. After about a twenty minute wait, which I didn't mind since they keep cookies and coffee in there lobby, Mr. Hansen brought my car back out side, and gave me some alarming news. I was missing one part that I was charged for!, my bumper wasn't the only thing that was rusting, none of my ""replaced"" parts fit correctly and were rubbing on parts they shouldn't be rubbing on, they put used parts on my car and the invoice says they're new parts. The list went on and on. He said this was very common with shops that work with insurance companies. I had great service when I was there and they are now re-repairing my vehicle. And I'm not going to get scammed by the insurance company this time! Pros: There not receiving kickbacks from insurance companies! Cons: Nothing. more

Number One Place to Take Your Car!!! 4/2/2008

When I took my car to Leifs it was almost completely totaled, which was really upsetting because it was a newer car. From the moment I walked into their lobby I felt at ease. Cindi the customer service girl was wonderful. We sat down together and went over the paperwork together, which I loved because when you have an accident you really don't know what to do or say. I was walked through everything, and Leifs was completely upfront with their responsibilities as well as my responsibilities. I received all the information regarding the repair and what was to be done with my car, as well as daily updates regarding the progress with my car. They handled everything with the insurance company, and let me know what I needed to collect from the insurance company as far as payment. Paying was as simple as signing over an insurance check. When thye say no hassels they mean no hassels. I couldn't believe when I got my car back how good it looked. I was very pleased with the repairs, it was definately ""pre-loss"" condition. Great place to take your vehicle. Pros: Everything Cons: I don't have a single one. more

Horrible Shop 3/27/2008

I have the full story posted on my site by here is the abbreviated version. I took my car to them, they took 2 months to fix it, 1 week of which was my fault because I was waiting on a part I ordered. They gave me the car back minus 1 part they hadn't gotten yet, I found several issues with the repair, I pointed them out and they refused to fix them telling me that the quality of the paint job was cheap and that it would look like **** in 6 months anyway, the didn't deny doing it just said because Leif himself felt the car had been poorly painted that it wasn't worth them fixing right. They dented the car, I have before and after pictures, he agreed to fix that but only if I paid for the rental car. Stay away from their shop at all costs, while I was there trying to get the car repair correctly there was another customer with a brand new ford truck having similar issues with poor repair quality. I had to deal with the insurance company, they wouldn't do anything for two weeks then when I called they would say they couldn't get a hold of the insurance, I would have to call to get things moving again, same thing over and over. Don't fall for his smooth talk, he is a dishonest person, I have had a car repaired well there but I say 50% odds are pretty bad. Take it somewhere with a better reputation that cares about the quality of their repairs and doesn't try to pawn poor repair quality off of the cars previous condition, which if you look at my full story on my site you can see pictures showing this ""poor"" quality just do some research about the, do a search online and you will also see. I took my car to Leifs after I became suspicious to the claim reps (mine as well as the other responsible party;s) regarding the use of OEM part sonly (I thought that was Oregon state law), and who (with what written guarantee) would insure the work afterwards. To make matters worse, considering that the accident was not my fault, the other party's rep wouldn't even broach the subject of acknowledging my request for additional reimbursement for the loss of value (they call it diminished value) to my car after it was repaired - as the Carfax report on it would probably cause a loss of at least 20-30% of the pre-loss value.at resale. Pros: Fast service, No out of pocket, Great work Cons: Changing insurance provider afterwards more

I would like to impress on everyone that leifs may have saved my life. I had my vehicle repaired at another shop and when inspected at Leifs it was found to be an unsafe total. never again 8/10/2005

I took my car to Leifs to have the convertible top replaced. 1 MONTH later I had my car back and that was only after several phone calls to find out what the delay was. Everytime I would call to check on how far along they were with the repairs I would get a different story, first the car would be done in 2 days then all of a sudden they would say it wouldn't be ready for another week. I found out later that they didn't even replace the top of my car but they sent it to another company to do so everytime I called to check on it they were lying to me because thye had no idea how long it was going to be. I was very frusterated with the entire process. more
