I recently had a birthday party for my best friend on Sat Aug 14, 2010; and what a party it was! We got the bronze package which Steve the manager/owner fixed to fit our needs. He was professional and an awesome person to talk to. There were NO extra charges, NO bullshit, just a night filled with none stop fun. We had a section by the bar which seated 12 people comfortably and enough room for 18 people to stand, dance, drink, and party at. Our waitress was so busy tending to many tables besides ours that it was difficult at times to see her as much as we wanted to, but we had a bouncer standing by us the whole night. Whenever I asked him for anything he was willing and quite determined to help me. He was a bouncer and a waiter in one! Awesome guy1 I ended up tipping him at the night for his magnificent work. We had a blast. The music was great. The DJ played everything. From Reggae to Hip hop, to Pop. Some old school and techno. The night was wonderful. My friends and I had a wonderful time. I would recommend KUSH to anyone who is looking to have a good time. OOh and I forgot to add how great the hookah was! All in all, you'd honestly be missing out in life if you never went to KUSH!! I had my birthday there a couple weeks ago and had an amazing time...from what I remember. Booked the event through Blaque list (extremely helpful) and the evening went off without a hitch. All my guests (no limit) were comped since we had bottle service. We were seated in the area right next to the entry, adjacent to the bar. It was a great, semi-private and convenient location. We got two bronze packages and got two additional hookahs instead of the platters because I figured we were there to dance and drink. I remember we had to get one or two hookah's fixed because they were too harsh, which the staff was really accommodating about. Can't comment too much on the music because I really don't remember. There was also another bar in the back which I heard was more crowded than the bar we were next to. It never got too packed throughout the night, which is always a plus. Just as a warning: a 20% gratuity is included no matter how many drinks you get at the bar. So just beware! Otherwise, I had an AMAZING birthday!! Thanks Kush and Blaque list! I would definitely recommend! Their buy 1 get 1 free bottle special on Thurs and Fridays, I believe, is also a GREAT deal. Can't get better than this in NYC. So I had my birthday party there yesterday and I have to say that I was impressed I was greeeted with a warm ""Happy Birthday Sir"" from whom I believe to be the floor manager, a nice guy by the name of Steve. It has become difficult to find a great place in this city where a guy can just sit down enjoy some drinks and have a conversation with his friends in a great environment with amazing music great ambience and comfortable seating where not everyone is squished together and the staff as well as the patrons are all uppity and obnoxious, but not anymore. Kush met all my expectations of a great place. I was initially a little skeptical because of the negative comments but this place is definitely not at all what those comments stated. The staff was always coming around to make sure that we were comfortable and having fun the attention was amazing, the drinks were great so was the price and the hookahs tasted great and lasted a long time. I left this place feeling like 20% gratuity was not enough. If you wanna have a great time with your friends call Tim to make a reservation and take your party down to Kush you definitely will have a great time. I look forward to the next time I go there. I had such a great time at Kush. I threw a birthday gathering for my boyfriend and he had a great time. The lounge is gorgeous with beautiful decor and intimate lighting. Very classy. They also have a two for 1 bottle deal that is an absolute steal especially for this extremely trendy neighborhood. The table that I reserved had the guest of honor's name on it and it was already set up for my friends and I. The hookahs that we ordered lasted for at least an hour and the flavors were great. I also had a pomegranate martini which was delicious. The staff was extremely personable and ensured that we had a great time. I personally booked with GM Tim and felt well taken care of. I love visiting Kush when I'm in the mood for great atmosphere and a great food and drink list, so I decided to have my birthday party there with a bunch of my friends last Saturday. I reserved a table with bottle service and the whole process of booking the party over the phone was really easy as the management was very accommodating and made me feel like they really wanted me to have a great time. When we arrived, coat check was a little slow, but the host was very gracious, showing us to our table and making sure the waitress set us up with everything we needed right away. The DJ was playing fun, danceable music and the host and GM kept checking up on us to make sure we were having a good time. I loved the Kush Lounge. I had a birthday party there and I couldn't have asked for more. The atmosphere was great, the crowed was classy and sophisticated and the decor was to die for. I would definitely do it all over again if I could. My 25th birthday will definitely be taking place at Kush next year again! Kush is probably the best lounge I've been to in a while that plays some great music and our friends all had a great time. We hit up Kush on a Saturday night, women are free all night, men are free on the guest list until midnight. The dance floor was packed and it spilled over in to the bar area. But, the focus of this little diddy is the music that they played. We're not talking about just hip hop that isn't on the radio but the DJ played some jams. I've been coming to Kush for several months now, introduced by a friend, and can't seem to stay away.. it truly is a rare find in NYC..\r \r the ambiance is really great, LOVE the decor and small artistic touches that give the whole place a mediterranean vibe..\r \r The bartenders are attentive and consistent, amazing Kush martini, my favorite ;) One of the bartenders even created a drink just for my sister right in front of us...delicious!\r \r The DJ is excellent!..starts the night out with music you can have conversations over, moves to more upbeat/hip hop/dance music, and progresses to house/trance towards the end of the night..something for everyone...there's places to sit at the bar and around the main floor, but the center becomes the dance floor after about 1 am..\r \r There is a good selection of finger food..i particularly love the feta cigars, excellent presentation with a lovely red kush ribbon and tastes delicious...\r \r I love coming here...can't wait for the New Year's Eve party! My group of girls went to Kush last Saturday night and all i can say is....""wow"". We had the best time at this hidden gem. The manager was very professional (and cute) took special care of us and made sure we had a good time. The bartender made us these creative cocktails all night long...I especially loved the Tarantula...an avocado martini that was crazy but delicious.\r \r We will make Kush a regular part of our circuit. I partied at KUSH on Saturday and the place has a really great vibe. Very clean and the DJ Shan is awesome. We booked the Morroccan Room in the back and the GM, Tim was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and attentive to all the details including a special cake for a birthday and bottle of champagne on ice waiting when we arrived. The bartender CB makes some incredibly creative drinks and kept them flowing all night. Overall, there is nothing pretentious about this place which we loved and the staff actually made you feel welcome...a novelty for a New York club/lounge. Will be booking a lot of parties here in the future.\r \r I seriously question some of the recent poor reviews on here as this place was a great find and service unlike I've encountered anywhere else in the city. Well I spoke to the GM about a little get together with friends, he suggested that we get a table because saturdays are a big nite. I told him that we didn't like crowds. He assured me that they were a small boutique lounge. Well we got to the place and were confronted at the door by various men, seemed a bit confusing as to who was seating people. Once we got in we sat at a little table(Boutique) we asked our waitress to move. That took forever, didn't seem there was a host on the floor. But what is worse was the crowd. a hodge podge of people. I am no model but me and my friends dress well and the crowd was weird. Seems everyone gets into this Boutique lounge, Wasn't even sure they had a doorman.We left and went to Katra, we probably should have went there to begin with. I heard about Kush from a friend and it totally delivered and was worth the trip downtown. It's a very hip scene and the DJ did a good job reading the vibe of the crowd. The door staff did not have the usual attitude and we found everybody pretty polite- which I guess is the positive side of a bad economy. Well from the start it was difficult, communicating with the GM about getting in and having to reserve a table, we did anyway but we were crammed into a small table. Service was poor but it was Halloween. The place was one big mess.It wasn't as advertised to me over the phone. The thing that creeped me out the most was this guy who was starring at me all nite from the D.J booth. Then everytime I moved it seemed like he was behind me. Well I was anticipating a great time for my birthday party, especially after having to agree to all of the guidelines set forth by the manager Tim. Geez you would think I was bookng my wedding. He assured me that he does this all the time. however I have had parties before and He was a little much. Well everyone got in but the place was packed like sardines, you stand a better chance at getting coffee at Grand Central at 7am then this bar. The bar was impossible to reach .some our friends left our table because it was to small. Then there was a problem with the cake. The staff was nice though. Recently hosted a corporate event at Kush lounge. My clients and VP team were extremely happy. The food was amazing but the service and ease of creating the event was astonishing. I had a birthday party here for a group of 10. They were so nice here, it was definitely a breath of fresh air. There wasn't any pushy, ego driven, club BS to deal with. Everyone got in smoothly and the manager was surprisingly attentive and nice. Awesome DJ and relatively good food (for a bar). Would recommend. Pros: Bottles aren't outrageous. Friendly staff. So some friends of mind one nite happened to wander into this establishment, I wasn't able to pass coat check because some guy refused me entry unless I checked my bag which contained my work laptop. When I refused to pay the $3 dollars he told me t his name was Tim and that he was the GM. I said that's great and proceeded to leave. I tapped him on the shoulder and he then basically flipped and punched me in the chest and said ""do you want to take it down the street? "" Now this is a first, usually this happens with door guys. I have been to Kush several times over the last few months both for private parties and as a regular guest. Each time my friends and I have received incredible service from staff and management. The food is delicious and their Saturday night DJ is fantastic! I will definitely be back! more

I planned my best friend's bachelorette party here last Saturday for a group of 15 girls and we had an awesome time. We didn't have a problem getting in or anyone else that came later who joined our party. Our group had a great time dancing the night away and enjoy our corner table that we reserved in advance - the required bottle service is a con, however, there aren't many lounges in NYC that you can reserve a table without a minimum. The management and staff at Kush were friendly and ensured our group had fun. I would go back there again for a celebration. Pros: Friendly staff & management, Fun Dancing more
