Being new to Seattle, I didn't know where to get my bichon groomed. Someone in my building raved about Kristi's so I decided to bring my dog. When I called for an appointment they told me it would cost $55.00 which seemed reasonable enough. I was a little curious why my dog needed to be at their grooming salon from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. but I went with it. When we dropped our dog off, the groomer seemed friendly enough and I was very specific about how I wanted him groomed. She said to come back at 3:00. During that time, she even called once to tell us she might have to shave around on of his paw because he was licking his fur so much and it could get infected. I was impressed with her attention to my dog...HOWEVER, when I showed up at 3:00, my dog was still wet, and nowhere near done (could someone haved called me to tell me? plus, they had him there for 6 hours already). As a matter of fact, the groomer looked a little overwhelmed-did she know what she was doing? I wasn't convinced. When I took one look at him on the table, I knew it wasn't right but what could I do? My boyfriend, ever the optimist, thought maybe once he was dry it would be better. We were told to come back at 4:00. When I arrived, my dog was SHAVED! When I expressed my dismay, they told me he was too matted to be cut the way I wanted him to be. I have owned my dog for 10 years...I KNOW when he is too matted and I am the first to admit it. In this case his tummy and backside were matted but they should shave that anyway. Plus, when I dropped him off, they never mentioned how matted he was. When I told them this, the man behind the front desk made some snide remark to the effect of, ""You brush your dog? I could never tell!"" Obviously I needed to get out because I was about to say something I might regret. It was the last straw when they put the bill in front of me...$70.00! That was too much for me...if that treated me that rudely, how did they treat my dog?
Pros: I guess it was clean
Cons: they treat people rudely and keep your dog for 6+hours
