Love 'em! 10/14/2011

I've taken my dogs to Kristi's for eight years now. I'm picky about how they are clipped and they do a great job at it -- they always listen to how I'd like it done. My dogs look gorgeous! My older dog has some bad arthritus and they always treat her with extra care. more

The best dog and cat grooming place in Seattle 2/8/2011

I have been taking my dogs there for years and my parents took their dogs there. The groomers have always been very good with our dogs and always given them the proper breed cut or what ever cut we chose. I have a cat also, with extra thick and long hair. There is a person there who knows how to thin out the coat properly and the result is much less shedding . I take my cat in 2 times a year. I have taken my animals to both locations; Wedgwood and Capital Hill. I have never been disappointed and highly recommend Kristi's Grooming more

How are these people in business? 7/12/2009

I was new to Seattle last year looking for a dog groomers and went in there to inquire. The staff were so rude, I would of got more of a grunt from a pig! I am so glad I never went in blind and booked my dog in for a groom. Would you entrust someone with your pet with attitudes like that! Pros: There isn't any Cons: Unclean and rude more

Terrible customer service 7/7/2009

Trying to get an appointment and/or a call back is almost impossible. The girl on the phone is not that bright and could use some customer service training. Pros: did good job on my cat's cut Cons: Front desk/phone person is really bad more

kudos to kristi's! 4/21/2009

I have two long hair kittens that I wanted shaved for spring. Being a first time cat owner, I was a little nervous about parting with my young little sprats. Teree was very warm and reassuring. A few hours later I picked up two very calm kitties who looked ADORABLE. Will be going back! more

Magnificent Groomers! 12/18/2008

I've never taken a dog to the groomers before; I have always owned smallish dogs (basset hound, beagles) & have just bathed them at home. I only a month ago got a pitbull named Hope, & decided it would be a big mess to try to give her a bath at home, plus she hates getting her nails trimmed & is a wiggleworm, so I took her to Kristi's on Capitol Hill. What a fabulous experience for me & my big girl. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly staff. Hope is not too used to crowds yet (we're working on that) & was being kind of a spazz; they were very patient & understanding with her. It was weird at first dropping her off. She is a rescue dog, & I've never just left her with strangers before. I didn't want it to be a traumatic experience for her; she's had enough instability in the past already. I came back a couple hours later to pick her up, I was amazed by the results. Hope's coat was sooo sleek, shiny, silky & soft! She is definitely a kisser, & apparently she licked the bathers the whole time they were trying to work on her. Everyone gave her treats, too, & I don't think I've seen her tail wagging so much ever (except at the dog park). Hope had such a fun time there. I am glad I've found such amazing people to take care of her. Pros: patient, caring, friendly staff - parking is a breeze, too more

Good groomers and great results 12/10/2008

I've read the inconsistent reviews, and I do sympathize (trust me), but I think the key with grooming here is to be uber-specific about what you want (I am not insinuating that any mishaps that occured here was the fault of the reviewers). And I'm lucky enough to have been paired with the most patient, skilled, and thorough groomer I've ever met. This person always takes the time to listen to my (very specific) requests, and is very thorough about going over them with me to make sure we're both on the same page. Pros: Great groomer, decent parking Cons: Morning drop-off delay more

Great cat grooming 4/20/2008

Our cat, Dobbs, gets horrible mats every spring, no matter what we do. Thus, a yearly ""lion cut"" is in order. This was the first time we've gone to Kristi's, and I know we'll be returning. Grooming at other places has not been very positive. Dobbs is old and has spine issues, and he usually returns from the groomer sore and frightened. At Kristi's, the cat groomer Theree (spelling?) was SO gentle with him. When we picked him up he was happily playing with a cat nip sachet she had given him. She took notes of his back problems, so she will remember for future appointments. She also had lots of helpful recommendations like to always make sure to schedule him for Kristi's ""cat only"" days, so loud dogs won't make the experience worse for Dobbs. Plus his cut looks great! (Well, cat hair cuts are not the most dignified thing, but he looks great for a shaved cat). Pros: Gentle groomer more

I've never been treated so rudely 10/31/2007

Being new to Seattle, I didn't know where to get my bichon groomed. Someone in my building raved about Kristi's so I decided to bring my dog. When I called for an appointment they told me it would cost $55.00 which seemed reasonable enough. I was a little curious why my dog needed to be at their grooming salon from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. but I went with it. When we dropped our dog off, the groomer seemed friendly enough and I was very specific about how I wanted him groomed. She said to come back at 3:00. During that time, she even called once to tell us she might have to shave around on of his paw because he was licking his fur so much and it could get infected. I was impressed with her attention to my dog...HOWEVER, when I showed up at 3:00, my dog was still wet, and nowhere near done (could someone haved called me to tell me? plus, they had him there for 6 hours already). As a matter of fact, the groomer looked a little overwhelmed-did she know what she was doing? I wasn't convinced. When I took one look at him on the table, I knew it wasn't right but what could I do? My boyfriend, ever the optimist, thought maybe once he was dry it would be better. We were told to come back at 4:00. When I arrived, my dog was SHAVED! When I expressed my dismay, they told me he was too matted to be cut the way I wanted him to be. I have owned my dog for 10 years...I KNOW when he is too matted and I am the first to admit it. In this case his tummy and backside were matted but they should shave that anyway. Plus, when I dropped him off, they never mentioned how matted he was. When I told them this, the man behind the front desk made some snide remark to the effect of, ""You brush your dog? I could never tell!"" Obviously I needed to get out because I was about to say something I might regret. It was the last straw when they put the bill in front of me...$70.00! That was too much for me...if that treated me that rudely, how did they treat my dog? Pros: I guess it was clean Cons: they treat people rudely and keep your dog for 6+hours more

Not for my dog... 6/13/2006

I took my dog here three times. Each time they charged me a different price for the same services. My dog was never completely dry when I picked her up, which can cause hot spots on a dog with a thick coat, and the last time she was in, I could tell that several of her nails had been cut too short. I don't think Kristi herself ever groomed my dog, but I can't recommend their services. Cons: hard to park, inconsistent pricing, dog not dried completely more

Great service. 9/1/2005

The man that bathed my dog was very friendly. It seemed a bit pricey though at $35 for a bath/nail trim. But I'll still recommend it as my dog seemed so much less freaked out when I picked him up. more
