Best

I visited the Space needle as a kid and then returned about 40 years later. It was awesome then and it is still magnificent. Here are some interesting facts: http://captivateseatt...

Worst

As I have never been to Seattle, I wanted my first visit to be memorable. Unfortunately, it was, but, for all the wrong reasons. The few people I spoke with at the front desk were...

Space Needle 8/19/2005

You wouldn't go to Paris and skip the Eiffel Tower, so you shouldn't go to Seattle and skip the Space Needle. Located in the heart of the Seattle Center, an entertainment complex on the city's north side, it's an awesome sight to behold from the ground and even more wondrous on the elevator ride up. The highest structure in the area, the view from the top is all-encompassing. more

Worth a Visit 8/19/2005

If you visit Seattle you probably have seen the Space needle on the skyline. It is one of the staples in the city and is worth a visit (at least once). If you plan on going there try to avoid the weekends especially during the summer. The view is awesome, probably the best in Seattle. It is kind of expensive but worth it. more

Overpriced, but still a cool view 8/19/2005

As most people agree, the cost of visiting this local landmark is far more than it is worth. The admission does not match what you are getting, and it should be left for the tourists to pay. If you really do want to get a great view of the city, head to the BOA tower. The space needle is neat to do once, but not worth a second trip. more

not worth the ticket 8/18/2005

Space Needle is certainly a beautiful looking landmark in Seattle. But you should really just take a lot of pictures of its outside. Whether you go to the Alki beach and look into the downtown Seattle, or just standing at the ground level and look up, Space Needle always looks good. However, if you pay close to $15 and go up to the top, you will probably be disappointed. There is really not much to see once you are up there. 10 minutes and you are done. more

There are better views and better food elsewhere 8/16/2005

For some reason, it seems most visitors to Seattle really want to go to the Space Needle. I get the impression most of them think the views will be spectacular and the swanky resturant on top will match. Sorry folks, but that isn't true. Yeah, the views aren't bad - but you can get equally pretty views from Queen Anne, along most of Seattle's waterfront parks, or other places. As for the food, I've heard it's changed management and gotten better, but the last few times I was there, most large food chains gave it a good run for its money and it was absurdly overpriced. more

Great view, not so great price 8/4/2005

I took my younger brother one night when he came to visit me. The view at night was spectacular. Everything was light up and it was a clear night so we could see for miles. This is definitely an attraction worth visiting, but be prepared because it will cost you (as landmarks usually do...)! more

Great Northwest food with a spectacular view 8/2/2005

Eating gourmet food with a panoramic view of Seattle is an experience to remember. The restaurant is slowly revolving so dinners can experience a 360 degree view of the city. This can be a tad rough for those who get motion sick but nothing a little ginger ale or anything ginger can't help. It took me a few minutes to adjust but once I got comfortable the taste of the fantastic food eased my motion sickness. The atmosphere was so relaxing and romantic just take some ginger pills before going up. more

the view 8/2/2005

Whenever we go to the top of the Space Needle, we search for our parked vehicle down below! It is always a fun game we play! My husband and I first went to the Space Needle together on our honeymoon over six years ago! It was amazing! We make our annual trip there every summer. Great views and even great food in the top cafe! more

The view of Seattle... 7/27/2005

Seattle's most famous landmark...the Space Needle is a must to visit. Standing at approximately 605 feet high, you will get a breathtaking view of downtown Seattle and the waters around. Its not only a monument, you can take the glass elevators up to the top where you observe the scenery and read about the history of the making of the Needle. Then, you can take the glass elevators up a little more to their Sky City Restaurant. This is an unforgettable experience, for it rotates. So go and check it out! more

Alexis has flair 7/14/2005

I love the Alexis because it has personality. When friends come to town or business associates I always direct them to the Alexis. Its a nice change of pace from the towering corporate hotels downtown It is very nice! The rooms are original. The service is unbeatable. There is an Aveda Spa built into the building downstairs so you can send the wife down to pamper herself. My only complaint with the Alexis is the parking scenario. There is none. You have to have someone park for you. Other than that.. Its a great location and totally original. more

A premium price for a spin in the needle. The food is NULL. 7/13/2005

A nice place to visit (once in a lifetime) but I would not wish to eat there ever again. I had heard horror stories and put them by the wayside when I had heard they had made some major improvements. Well.. live and learn.. When you receive your larger than life bill think about the view not the meal you just ate. You are paying for the view and the experience. It is pretty disorienting to eat in a spinning needle (full turn in one hour) yet it is fun if you have never done it. more

high above 7/13/2005

Talk about getting a room with a view! You get to experience a 360 degree unobstructed view from the top of the Space Needle! I have always enjoyed making the short trip to the top of the Space Needle, we go there every time we visit the Seattle area. It is a view like no other in the world. The restaurant is pretty good too, large menu and great food! more

Everyone has to go here at least once, right 7/7/2005

I've visited the Space Needle on numerous occassions since everyone who visits wants to go. It's pricey but on a clear day, the observation deck really does offer million dollar views. The bar is overpriced, but this is to be expected. Similarly, the restaurant is mediocre- the stunning view compenstates for this. more

Great place to be pampered! 7/7/2005

The Alexis Hotel is a great boutique luxury hotel located in downtown Seattle. This is where I stayed the night I got married. The staff was more than helpful. When booking the room, when I told them I was getting married I got upgraded to a suite for free. The place was almost bigger than our apartment! Also, my bridesmaids surprised me and decorated our room before we arrived. The biggest bummer was that at midnight (1am? 2am?)we were STARVING and we couldn't find any place to deliver, not even Domino's pizza! So we had to bust into the overpriced food basket. Great ambiance and highly recommended! more
