Jefferson Tap

One of my favorite places to go for food. Their cheeseburger is definitely one of the best in town !!!! On special every Monday too. The daytime bartender is also a hoot. His Boston accent it so thick you can barely understand a word he says. I do hear from the employees that he does a great job of making their schedules so he must be a good guy. more

The Jefferson Tap is by far the best all around bar in the West Loop or Downtown area for that matter. (I should know, I've been to almost all of them) If it has any major drawbacks it's that the downstairs area is too small to meet the demand sometimes and people seem to love coming here as much as I do. I go here for the great food and music. The staff is always friendly and usually add to the experience. I always bring my friends who are in from out of town on our night where we don't have 'big plans' and they usually have more fun here than at the other places. I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys a classic bar filled generally with good people. Pros: Late Night Bar Cons: Downstairs not big enough to meet demands sometimes more

My experience here might be tainted because I went at lunchtime, but from what I saw I was not impressed. The food was average bar food, with no flare. The service was not that attentive and we were one of two tables in the joint.
