DO NOT TAKE YOUR JEEP HERE. How can you trust a shop that has to shamelessly fabricate it's own positive reviews to get business? Doesn't seem very honest to me. Bottom line- most...

On my side 10/12/2011

I just feel like these guys are on my side. They don't nickle and dime you. They threw on a new bumber piece for me when I was just going to buy a star wrench and do it myself. They told me not to get a new battery, that i just had wire problems. They gave me the lowest radiator price I could find in the city. They just know jeeps. I love them. more

Great shop 9/28/2011

Great shop, they do really really good work, they fixed up my car and now it looks even better than when I got it. more

Thanks for the great job guys. 9/28/2011

Someone hit my parked car while I was at work so I brought her back here, They did such a great job the first time I knew this was the only place to bring my car. Anyways again Incredibly friendly Staff, and Very fast work, He even washed my car and polished it back to a nice shine, They even cleaned the dash and it smelled almost like a new car in there. Thanks for the great job guys. more

the staff is friendly 9/28/2011

Not only was the staff friendly, but all the charges were clear, without inflation. They quoted me a price several hundred dollars below another repair shop. They even took the time to do minor work the the insurance company refused to cover. more

Thanks so much! 9/28/2011

I just wanted to write a review that even though I only had a phone call I was very impressed. I bought a new Jeep in 2010 and the dealer said we had to get the oil changed after 6000 miles or after 6 months. At six months we had only done 2000 miles so I called Jeep Masters to ask how much the oil change would be. The guy I spoke to was very honest and said I really did not need it changed until I had done 5000 miles. I was very grateful for the honest advice. I will be taking the Jeep there as soon as we have done 5000 miles :) Thanks so much! more

pleasure to work with 9/27/2011

This shop is so awesome. They did a beautiful job on some minor collision repair work on my car. Such a pleasure to work with - the guys are easy-going and committed to excellence. My car hasn't looked this good since I bought it in 2005 except for the rip in the rear bumper, which I will be coming back here for. Thank you again! more

Honest work! 9/6/2011

An excellent place. Been trying to fix my Jeep Cherokee myself and been researching around to figure out the problem. I spent more than I should have and just should have taken it here instead. If you're unsure about what to do, then it's best to save time and go here to get it fixed. After I came here, they tried to turn the Jeep on and immediately figured out what was wrong with it. They even put in a couple minor parts and gave advice on what else the car needed. Thank you so much for you honest work! more

JeepMasters - - Masters of DISASTER! 6/23/2011

Plain and simple, the worst experience I have ever had, here is what happened. 1) Took my jeep in at 9am 2) There was only one other jeep in the lot 3) Spoke to Ray the Team Manager and provided a list of items I needed taken care of, AC work, cruise control repair, lug-nut repair, and new master key switch at steering wheel. 4) Left my jeep and expected a call within a hour maybe two considering there was only one jeep in the front of the store. I didn't get a call and after 4 hours I had to call them to find out they had not even started to look at my jeep. DON'T STOP READING, IT ONLY GETS WORSE FROM HERE! 5) I told the person on the phone don't touch it, I will come and get it. 6) I arrived and my jeep is no where to be found, I walk into the front door and I see Ray, I tell him I want my jeep back. He hands me the keys but my jeep is not in sight. I ask Ray where my jeep is and he asked for my keys back and said ""I will pull it around for you"" 6) 5 minutes later here comes Ray with my jeep and not only did it seem suspicious, but as he gets out of my jeep, I noticed my CB radio disconnected sitting in the passenger seat. Wires hanging down from where it was connected literally rendering my ability to drive impossible, as the wires were blocking access to the brake and gas pedal. So not only did I get my car back and wasted four hours of my day, they returned it to me in worse condition than when I delivered it. BROKEN and literally un-drivable. I had to clean up their damage. When I went back in to ask Ray what in the hell are all the wires hanging down, he started making excuses and tried to blow smoke up my ass. Most importantly, when I asked about it, all I got was one excuse after another, not one apology or attempt to make it right, right then and there. They gave me back my jeep broken.... Where is their pride? How sick and twisted is that! To give back a man his jeep broken and not take responsibility for it. I would not recommend JeepMasters to anyone not even my ENEMIES. more

Love this place 11/5/2010

After having owned a Jeep GC and now owning a JK Wrangler, these guys have been nothing but super nice and helpful with both of them. I decided to do my own radiator replacement on my GC and didn't tighten one of the valves enough, so I had a fluid leak, so I brought it to these guys. Most mechanics wouldn't work on it without using their parts because they couldn't warranty the work, and it would have cost me over $500 to get the repair done by a shop, but Jeep Masters got in there and tightened the valve for me and only charged me $80 for labor, AND it was in and out in a day... More recently, something silly broke on my shifter boot and I ordered the part online, it got here, and I couldn't get the shifter knob off the shaft. Apparently, it's a real bugger to get off. So I called them up and they were like, sure swing by and we will get it off for you. Got there, Charles took it off for me and even snapped the new one in place. No charge:) took him 10 minutes out of his busy schedule. I really like these guys. They do good, honest work. If you try to do it yourself, and you fail, they aren't going to charge you an arm and a leg because you messed it up. And if it's just a little simple help you need, they don't mind just giving you a hand. more

Elated Customer 8/22/2009

I traveled to Austin recently to participate in a week-long technical conference. I drove in from Houston, about 200 miles or so, on Sunday afternoon to attend a meeting that evening. My Jeep was overheating for much of the way, boiling coolant out through the overflow tank, and spraying it all over the inside of the engine compartment. I made it into Austin OK, and called my brother in law in Round Rock, north of Austin about 30 miles, and asked if he could pick-up a thermostat, a thermostat housing gasket, and a radiator cap. I left the meeting about 10:30 PM, and went to get the Jeep and go to Round Rock. I didn't make it onto the freeway before something failed in the engine emissions control system, causing the engine check light to come on and remain illuminated. My Jeep was running, but was now missing and surging in an alarming manner. I drove about 4 miles north and gave it up as a bad choice. I manged to limp back to the downtown hotel I was staying at, and parked in the hotel garage. I searched the internet for Jeep repair shops in Austin, and Jeep Masters came up first. Several other shops were listed as well, but Jeep Masters had a couple of strong points in their favor for me. Of all the other shops listed, they had the highest number of positive customer reviews, and they were located only 2 1/2 miles south of the hotel location. I called them Monday AM and spoke to Cecil, who suggested they could tow my Jeep in if it wasn't operable, but in any event to bring it on and they would take a look at it that day. I was able to get some help, and dropped the Jeep off around 10:00 AM. I called Jeep Masters at 2:00 PM, and they had already completed a very comprehensive diagnosis to determine the engine condition, specifically looking for a blown head gasket or cracked head. They described several tests I was aware of, and a couple I had not heard of before. Hearing the descriptions, I was convinced they had done what they were telling me. They did determine the overheating was caused by the radiator cap not holding pressure, as I had suspected. They found a bad throttle position sensor that was setting the check engine light; the hot coolant had gotten into the wiring and shorted out the sensor. They also found a couple of other, non-related items that I optioned to go ahead and take care of, since they had access at the time (bad ignition cables and rotor, and throttle body contamination buildup). So, they replaced the radiator cap, the thermostat and thermostat housing gasket, flushed the coolant system and replaced the coolant, changed the oil, replaced the ignition wiring, and cleaned the throttle body. After I picked up the Jeep and drove back to the hotel, it ran better than it did back home in Houston before the trip, and no sign of overheating. But here's the really amazing part: I asked them what the charge would be, expecting a really high number. After all, I was from out of town, there for only a week, and essentially stranded without my vehicle, and these fellows did rather a lot of work. The estimate was only $650! Moreover, when I paid the totaled bill, the amount only came to $604, not the $650 original estimate, AND the Jeep was ready that afternoon before 6:00 PM! They only had it in the shop from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; with an hour for lunch, that means they worked the diagnosis, affected repair, cleaned up, and performed a test drive, all in 7 hours! I am back home in Houston now, and my Jeep ran very well all the way back. I would highly recommend this shop to any Jeep owner who finds they have engine issues. They are fast, honest, accurate in their work, and very fair in their pricing. For all this, I'd rate these guys 6 stars if I could, but most definitely 5 stars! Pros: Service is fast, accurate, honest, & reasonably priced Cons: They aren't closer to Houston more

Expensive and mis-diagnosed 8/13/2009

I had what is called a death wobble on my 04 Jeep Wrangler. They said a wheel alignment typically would handle this. They called, later, telling me that I would need several other items for a LOT of money. (one of which was a tire roation for 49 bucks, I get those for free at brake check). I told them to just do the alignment. as I couldn't afford all the stuff they wanted me to get. Pros: friendly Cons: expensive and wrong more

Fast service, Friendly at the desk, first repair was impeccable 1/7/2009

It's obviously tough to get a read on how necessary any particular repair job is, but I'm a reasonably above average novice in car repair and it seems that they've been honest with me. My first experience with them was when I was having an oil pressure problem that turned out to be completely my fault. While I'm usually pretty diligent at checking my oil, I'd inexplicably gone an entire year without an oil change. I had an enormous amount of sludge in the pan that had started clogging the line. To their credit, they identified the problem immediately, cleaned the pan and the lubricating system returned to outstanding performance. more

Fast, accurate, high quality work at a fair price-- happy customer!!! (5 STARS*****) 9/27/2008

I have dealt with Ray and Bo at Jeep Masters on several ""Jeep projects"" in the last year and each time the results have been MORE than satisfying! They have worked on everything from brakes, to water pump replacement, to awesome modifications on my trail rig. They take the time to explain the repairs needed as well as help me make improvements to create a more ""trail ready"" rig. Pros: Fast, Reliable, Efficient, Courteous, Responsible, Kind, Caring, Convenient location more

no b.s. 9/27/2008

I left my car keys at the jfk airport in new york. The jeep dealership here in town wanted $70 for a new key plus labor and towing charges. So that would have been about $200 all together, FOR A KEY!!!!! Another key place in town wanted $140 to go to the vehicle and fabricate a new key. Jeepmasters simply asked for the vin and had the key ready the next morning for $17. $17!!! $200 down to $17!! I must also say that the reason I called is because a friend who has had much work done to his wrangler and all of it at jeepmasters, he highly recommended them. more

Overcharged, and did not fix the problem 9/21/2008

I took my car to them because they came so highly recommended. After talking with Ray (owner) on the phone, they assured me they could help me. Originally they charged me to diagnose a problem. When they finally did fix the problem, they didn't put my car back together properly, and consequentaly it began leaking gas and fluids. They DID fix their mistake that time, but I called them later to change my starter, as the car would no longer start, had lost power, etc. (and a few others had diagnosed the starter as being the problem). I had to have my car towed to them, using their tow company. They charged me $75 for the tow (not bad if they had fixed the problem), but then said my starter was fine. Ray said I needed a new battery instead, and that they had fixed a short in the tail light. They wanted to charge me $100 for the battery and $40 to install it! Even better yet, now the tail light doesn't work. Well, after getting a new battery, my car died again, and you guessed it... The starter. When I asked them about why they didn't change the starter before, they acted as if I were stupid to suggest such a thing. When I called and let Ray know the car had again died, and it was the starter, he said that they didn't normally work on cars like mine (as they assured me they did originally), and that they must have made a mistake. I asked if they would at least cover the tow that I had wasted money on the last time, and Ray refused saying that they couldn't be expected to know what was wrong with my vehicle. more

Honest, Friendly, Inexpensive Service 9/17/2008

I am a 31 year old female customer and this is the only place I will bring my car. I never have to worry about them selling me something I dont need. They give honest, straight forward information about what's wrong, they fix it and it stays fixed. My bill is always surprisingly low and I trust them 100%. Thank You! more

Best Jeep Guys in the South!! 5/8/2008

In February I took my brand new 2008 Jeep JK Unlimited to Jeep Masters after hearing word of mouth that they do some mighty fine work on Jeeps. Being a Jeep enthusiast I already had a good idea what I wanted: 3.5"" lift, front/rear track bars, re-gear front/rear diffs. With the help of Ray & Bo we were able to build my JK up the way I wanted and within my busy schedule. Their customer service and attention to detail is outstanding. Instead of trying to bilk me out of more cash or tell me it needed something it didn't, they were straight up and honest. When my gears were back ordered for months they were very patient with my numerous calls and not only called me the minute they arrived but had them installed the next day! To sum it up, this is a small business run by two professional fellas who have a true passion for Jeeps and know what they are doing. Most importantly, they are not afraid to call around if there is something they aren't familiar with and they back their work. I am VERY impressed with Jeep Masters. I will definately take my next build up to them (flat fender trail rig)! more
