Good Food/So So Service 1/15/2007

I went here for a work brunch, it was great food. But the service was not great. I am not sure if that may be part of their ""thing"" they are too cool because they are in mpls or what. However the homemade peanut butter and ketchup cannot be BEAT> I would recommend this place to breakfast lovers. Pros: Good FOOD Cons: Service more

Breakfast for lunch without the Greasy Spoon 10/2/2006

Whiling visiting Minneapolis, the man and I were late to rise and craving breakfast at 1130am on a Monday. Hell's Kitchen had a number of breakfast items available on their menu and offered to serve anything from the breakfast menu for us. Their item's were creative and tasty. Their bloody marys and PB are one of a kind. Take a chance on their daily specials. I'll come back for the brunch when we return. Pros: Breakfast items, inventive Bloody Mary's, Scrumptous PB Cons: Cold, breakfast not always offered, open till 2pm more

Creative and Fun! 9/10/2006

I have been here a few times for lunch and every time I have liked it. The food is creative- lots of interesting combinations. I would recommend this place to anyone who is somewhat adventurous with food. They also have a great weekend brunch and a fantastic bloody marry! P.S. You can buy their homemade peanut butter to take home- DO IT- its soooo good!!! Pros: Food, Bloody Marry, & Peanut Butter Cons: Some dishes have a little too much oil more

l like the staff and the food is almost always very good. 9/9/2006

When I retire to Chicago next year, this will be one of the VERY few restaurants I'll miss. Food very good almost always, though once the lobster scramble was a little fishy. One time I didn't\r care for my meal. They got me something else and comped my breakfast. I go 2 or 3 times a\r month usually when it's not busy. Staff usually friendly - sometimes even sassy playful. A great\r place! Pros: Good food and service. Cons: Can get very busy - might have to wait. more

Better reputation than it deserves 8/17/2006

The food here is only average and it's expensive. With tax and tip, breakfast for two was $30.00. My companion had the buffalo sausage and it tasted more like liver sausage. It was greasy and had a bloody taste. Disappointing food. We won't be back. Pros: Caramel rolls Cons: Average food for above average cost more

Very good food 5/17/2006

It's been some time since I was last at Hell's Kitchen and man have I been missing out. It is very, VERY good food. Start off with some truly DELISH homemade hot chocolate. You'll start with a hint of cinnamon and end with an extremely tasty and decadent finish. The housemade tomato juice is fantastic as well. The corned beef hash is fresh, yummy, filling. I also really do enjoy the semi-sweet, semi-spicy bison sausage. What else, the toast and jam is to die for. I even am impressed with the carryout that averages 15 minutes when the joint is on a 1.5 hour wait. Honestly, I could care less about the decor or any ill-looking employee. PLEASE. This place is just fantastic, moderately priced food so leave your attitude on the curb!!! Oh yes, last, not least, ABSOLUTELY DO get a caramel pecan roll with the whipped butter. AAAHHHHHHHHHHH! Pros: hot chocolate, corned beef, caramel pecan roll, bison sausage, carryout Cons: building exterior, occasionally service, long waits, meter/lot parking more

This is not your Father's breakfast 3/7/2006

Great breakfast place. The menu is far from traditional, so I suggest you read the web site menu before you go. I had the Buffalo Benedict, which was good. The Hollandaise needs something, however. The staff is excellent and the atmosphere is fun. Even the customers are nice. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Service Cons: parking, prices more

The Buffalo Bread is to Die For 3/5/2006

My son brought home a loaf of buffalo bread from Hell's Kitchen, and it was just wonderful. In a few weeks I stopped in for lunch and everything was fantastic. Try this restaurant! Pros: Decor Awesome, Food Yummy, Portions Great Cons: somewhat pricey more

I love this place 12/7/2005

Best breakfast I've ever had. Hands down! I encourage everyone to go! The lemon ricotta hotcakes were to DIE for as was their special breakfast bread - with their signature pb. You really don't get closer to breakfast heaven at hell's! Pros: Reservations taken Cons: parking more

Love it!!! 9/21/2005

You will love Hell's Kitchen! In town for a convention and found this gem. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast including the amazing porridge. Truly a break from the cardboard offerings from the neighbouring hotels. I can still smell the aroma of the delicous french roast coffee. Enjoy! Pros: yummy food, excellent service, the experience Cons: I don't live in Minn. more

Whew! They're back and even better! 6/24/2005

We went to the new underground place on 9th street on their first weekend and you could tell they were a little overwhelmed by the crowds. But since then, I've been back 2 times and am happy to report all systems are go, their food is AWESOME, and the space is unbelievably creative. Go to Hell....even on a busy weekend they had happy customers and the same good food others have raved about! Pros: Parking ramp attached..big yay Cons: get reservations on weekends especially more

what about customer service? 6/14/2005

I had the misfortune of eating there and had to have my breakfast remade 3 times before I gave up. I ate the fruit that was on the plate and they charged me $4.00 for it. The eggs were WAY undercooked and the management would do nothing to make me feel like I would ever want to eat there again. BAD customer service. more

Best Breakfast In Town 2/19/2005

I love almost everything at Hell's Kitchen. Words cannot do justice to the homemade peanut butter. If you like the smell of roasting peanuts, you will love this PB. And it's just a condiment. I imagine they make their Bloody Marys with beer because a beer and wine license is cheaper than a liquor license, but just MAYBE because they taste so good with beer. My favorite dish is the crab cake with poached egg and roasted red pepper hollandaise. The crab cake is light, moist, and fluffy -- the best I have ever had. And the rest of the dish complements it perfectly. I also enjoy the porridge, the Huevos Rancheros and their meaty, smoky bacon. I have yet to try everything on the menu, in part because nobody ever wants to share! But I was disappointed by the fried oatmeal and the espresso drinks. Pros: Peanut butter, Bloody Marys w/beer Cons: Espresso drinks, Parking more

house manager 6/12/2004

When I am in town, this is my ritual stop on a Sunday morning. It's fun, kitsch and a destination point during my visits to Minneapolis. The Huevos Rancheros are superb and quite an abundant plate. The mammoth coffee cups are never left empty. Service w/the pajama/negligee clad staff is fun and quite exceptional. This is the place to start a Sunday or any day. Do check it out. Pros: welcoming, huge portions, the best coffee more

Hell's Kitchen Rocks! 3/15/2004

I love this place - the servers are great, the lemon ricotta pancakes, the porridge, sausage bread amazingly fabulous...creative, delicious, menu - a real treat! Give yourself plenty of time to wait for a table on weekends, though... more

amazing breakfast! 2/23/2004

We met out-of-town friends for our first visit to Hell's kitchen with our two-year-old in tow. The food was WONDERFUL, the service was very good, and the atmosphere (keep in mind it was a slow Monday morning) was actually very child friendly. Our server brought a whole tackle box of books and toys to keep our little one entertained throughout the meal ... how great is that? We will most certainly go back! Pros: GREAT food, Good Service, Child Friendly more

Excellent Breakfast! 2/18/2004

We went there for breakfast and the food was unbelieveable! My only complaint was that the waiter was very rude. Pros: Great food, Inexpensive Cons: , Rude waitstaff more

Good brunch 2/8/2004

Dined here for brunch on a recent Sunday. The lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious. The servers were all dressed in pajamas and I liked the hellish decor. Had reservations for 9 am and the place was full when we left. The service was good until the end when we needed our check and the place was busy. I would definitely go back! Pros: Casual, Good food, Unique menu more
