This place has the most antique chandeliers, lighting fixtures, statues, paintings etc... for any pizza place in the city maybe the world. The owner Jerry is a collector and decided to fill ( and I mean fill) this place up with them. The best part of this place however is the food. The pizzas are great as is all their foods. My fav. is the pastas with their famous meat sauce or their chicken vasuvio sandwich. Outstanding food, great service, certainly a unique atmosphere. They have been in bus. I believe 35 years. more

"Light" up your life with Gullivers! 5/10/2006

The first time I walked in, I could not believe the amount of lights, lamps and lighting fixtures hanging from all over the restaurant. I would hate to pay their electric bills!! Once I got past all the lamps and such, I have to say that Gulliver's quickly became a favorite place of mine. The service is always great, and the food is even better. I love their pizza (thin crust is the only one I tried each time) and their baked mostaccioli and other Italian dishes. The menu is huge and everything I tried I enjoyed. It's such a fun looking environment and if you're bored with your dinner companions, you can gaze at all the decorations :) more

Should we have pizza or build our own burger 4/24/2006

This place is the most unbelievable conglomeration of tiffany lamps and sculptures I have ever seen. Everywhere you look there's another one. Yes you can smoke but only in a very small area near the bar, the whole smoking thing is so weird and stupid. The food here is excellent. The pizza is legendary and you can even build your own burger with a choice of tins of toppings, or you can have it stuffed!!! They're french onion soup is beyond compare, only Grunt's did it better, and their Italian food is superb. Oh go there. See for yourself. They also deliver. more

Travel to Gulliver's 3/19/2006

A family owned and operated Restaurant for over 30 years is just as well known for their food as for their antiques. Antiques you say! Yes, I have never seen a restaurant cram in so many antiques, light fixtures and antique artwork. I personally think it's cool and different Some folks think this is tacky. For me the main reason to go is the the excellent food and customer service. Some items can be a little pricey, but they didn't get all those antiques with their good looks. more

Dine in Opulence 1/15/2006

Gulliver's is unique. The food is good here. You have to have good pizza if you are going to advertise yourself as a pizzeria in the fiercely competitive Chicago market. But we came mostly for the unique ambiance. This place is stuffed to the gills with antiques and art. There are stained glass chandeliers over the tables, and every where you look there is eye candy. It is a fun place to hang out and eat and really have a dining experience. And the menu is huge; this is not just a pizza joint. more
