Love GLBG 8/26/2010

I've lived in Green Lake for 3 years now and this is one spot that I LOVE! Happy Hour is great, servers are friendly. One of my favorite menu items is the Chicken Club Burgers and Fries! Breakfast is pretty delicious as well. more

Great happy hour and location 12/18/2009

This place is right on greenlake in a cool old brick building. The decore inside is old-school, dark, but there is a view of the lake. The food is really tasty, not cheap, but the happy hour food and drink prices are great, and there is no better restaurant on Greenlake. Pros: Happy Hour, Games, Location on Greenlake Cons: none, not cheap more

Great HH 5/23/2009

My friends and I have a sort of ""HH club"" where we try different places for HH periodically and we all give kudos to Greenlake Bar & Grill as having one of the most decent HH food for the value. For the prices you get pretty decent sized portions of your basic menu items, such as wedge and Caesar salads, burgers, fries, etc. Drinks specials also during HH. Pros: Great HH deals, location Cons: Parking more

Why bother!!!! Does not even deserve a single STAR!!!!!! 11/19/2008

Seattle is a city with great restaurants, bars and cuisine, why bother embarrassing yourself by taking a date here and wasting your money and looking like a scmuck for bringing them to such a horrible less than zero restaurant and bar, that even the regulars scoff at. The Grill offers mediocre food that is over priced, bad service not worth tipping on and an environment that makes a morgue look like a rave. Seattle has to many great places to choose from, find a better place to go. more

Great Happy Hour, Good Place for Families 10/30/2007

I like this place. The atmosphere is comfortable. The food is good. The service is good. They have a great happy hour and I can take my kids here sometimes and they enjoy it. Parking can sometimes be a hassle - but it's Green Lake! Pros: Great Happy Hour, Friendly Cons: None really - sometimes you have to wait to be seated more

nt so great commpared to what they say they're 5/29/2007

bit too pricey for quality i got and service wasn't there when i needed. Pros: good location Cons: unsatisfy service and un-pleasant food experience more

An all around amazing restaurant 3/21/2007

I love this restaurant. I have been there probably 30 times and I have never left dissapointed. They have great food and drinks and the most amazing happy hour I have ever been too. You can get a plate of pasta for $1.99! It might not be the best pasta you have ever had but it's cheap and it tastes good. During regular hours I always get the raviollis or the burger--both are delicious! I tend to drink mixed drinks and cocktails and while they are a little spendy they are always stiff. They have great servers too; everyone has always been friendly, energetic and attentive, even when they are super busy. The atmosphere is great, it's funky, upbeat and they play great music in the bar. You are never subjected to dreary elevator type music. It's a great place and I recommend it to every one. Pros: Happy hour, stiff drinks Cons: It's hard to get a seat in the bar at times more

Great Happy Hour 12/13/2006

I have dined here on several occasions and have left satisfied each time. The happy hour menu cannot be beat--it's so cheap--I especially loved the coconut shrimp for $1.95--a whole platefull!! Though I have not sat at the bar, the drinks I have had there have been great, if not a bit strong on the amaretto sour. I would recommend this as a good place to take a date--not too expensive and the atmosphere is great. Pros: Great Happy Hour Menu more

The last time we went.... 12/9/2006

The service was average, the fish tacos were okay. The lobby smells of cleaning products. (Go easy on the bleach next time.) I had the worst pork chop I have ever paid for, dry, flavorless and small. They brought the wrong side dish with the plate. I sent back the rice for the expected mashed potatoes. I should have kept the rice, the potatoes were cold, clammy and tasted like they were from a box. Pros: It seems like a good place for families and it was not too busy. Cons: I don't like the food they serve, and it is expensive. more

Yick! Only if you're desperate! 7/15/2006

We were lured in by the $13.95 three course dinner -- but should have known that it was too cheap to be good! The pasta with chicken literally tasted like Pasta-Roni -- but with less salt -- and the chicken looked like those pre-cooked strips you can buy at the supermarket. My rice was crunchy and the steak came with a huge puddle of thousand island on top -- ew! The only redeaming thing: a gigantic ice cream sundae for the third course -- but you really cant screw up ice cream! more

Avoid the ""Hallibut"" and Gumbo 7/8/2006

The Gumbo tasted like it came out of a can. The ""hallibut"" as they called it is nothing more than fish-sticks. Pros: Location and View of Greenlake Cons: Polite but very slow customer service. Unacceptable food quality. more

Just not quite... 6/2/2006

Not the best. I'd give this place a 6 out of 10; a little better than average - but then again I do have high standards. The initial greeting was delayed and unfriendly; we seemed to be an inconveinience, despite the fact that the resturant was nearly empty. The fish tacos were fair, nice flavor. Stale chips and expensive drinks! No refills on strawberry lemonade! The food was overly greasy. Not many healthy options. I don't think i'll visit again. Pros: Atmosphere, Location Cons: Food , Parking, Overpriced more

I LOVE it... 5/4/2006

I have been going to Greenlake Bar and Grill for years and it is one of my favorite places. The atmosphere is chill, the management is super friendly and always willing to go the extra mile. I pretty much exclusively order the burgers, it is my favorite. And the happy hour, like everyone says, is the best deal in town. Just make sure you walk there instead of driving, because they do not skimp on the alcohol! more

Good...Not Great 9/27/2004

We love to walk around green lake and had been told that they have a great happy hour. The place is in a perfect location and has a nice outdoor area. The inside however smelled like a diner. Greece and other unpleasent smells. Perhaps the vent system was down that day... I dont know. I would go back again for the GREAT HAPPY HOUR, but I would sit outside! Pros: happy hour, location, service Cons: , drink prices more

Love the environment 9/8/2004

As soon as you walk into this place, you know you've made the right decision. The beer selection is good although the mixed drinks are a little expensive. The food is hit or miss. The Italian dish I had was greasy, but the nachos were perfect. more

Really liked the place until now 4/30/2004

The service was horrible. I ordered my favorite grilled chicken club, but requested not to have french fries. The server asked me if I wanted a salad and I said no thanks. She never mentioned that the salad was a replacement for the fries or that the sandwich would still cost the same with or without the fries. I have no problem paying full price for the sandwich, but it's only polite to tell you that it will be full price no matter what you omit. I was pretty upset when I got the bill and found that my chicken club with no fries, no salad, just a sandwich, cost $9.78. When I questioned the bill, she said, ""There are no price reductions if you don't get fries. That's why I offered you a salad."" She never made that clear until I got the bill. Pros: location, happy hour Cons: , cramped eating spaces, crowded more
