My air conditioner was not working when we woke up. Called Green Country Service and they got me on the schedule and had a tech out on time. Tech did a great job getting my unit fixed right the first time. We will definitely keep them on top of my list for any of our heating and cooling problems. more

Green Country Service Heating and Cooling provided unethical service to my family. STAY AWAY. These guys were hungry for business and looking for their next kill. We purchased our home last May and when it came time to turn on the heat, the heat would not turn on. We saw that the previous owners had used Green Country, so we gave them a call. Nick S. came out to take a look and reported that the pilot was not lit. This was fine and I think true. Then he stated that we also had a cracked heat exchanger and as a result carbon monoxide was leaking into the house at a rate of 5ppm. Nick S. then said that the unit was unsafe, recommended not using the heat, and advised that we replace the entire system and also recommended that we replace our (well- functioning) AC unit. He then came up with various pricing plans and even financing options!!! He also tried to create more drama by exclaiming, ""Did you even have this house inspected before you bought it?!"" Also, they could come out to put in a new system within 48 hours. Slow business? Other HVAC guys were booked weeks, even months in advance. Now, if a HVAC company finds that a system is leaking Carbon Monoxide, they are bound (by law, I believe) to completely shut off the system. Nick S. did not do this. He simply said, ""It's up to you if you want to take the risk."" You can run the furnace (which he tells me is leaking CO) to ""take the chill off."" First, the ""dangerous levels"" of 5ppm were in the range of what a gas stove produces while cooking dinner. Secondly, the heat exchanger was not cracked. We had two other HVAC companies come out and do a MUCH more detailed investigation of our furnace and found that the system was in old, but in good order. The heat exchanger is old, but it is very solid and rarely do HVAC guys see ""cracked"" ones. more

Our technician provided a correct and honest diagnosis that your gas valve had to be replaced. He did not destroy your unit. The tech left the unit off while he was waiting for a diagnosis on the repair. Your unit was never left in pieces, other that the wires and cover to the gas valve left off the failed part. \r \r We provided a quote to replace the failed part and offered you a estimate to replace the 27 years old gas furnace. \r \r At no time did we mislead you or destroy the unit.\r more

Nothing was ""screwed up"" other than the faulty gas valve that we already diagnosed. \r \r We provided a quote to replace the failed part and offered you a estimate to replace the 27 years old gas furnace. \r \r At no time did we mislead you or destroy the unit. more

They have started this second set of reviews like stuffing a ballot by slightly changing the name. If you hire the even for something as simple as yearly maintenance, they may very well screw your system up so it doesn't work at all! more

I would bet the five star ""durhamresident"" article was written by someone from Green Country or a family member. Anyway, I now live in Wyoming, have been unable to sell my house and simply hired Green Country Air to light my furnace for my tenants. That's when the nightmare began. It took them several days to come out and when they finally did arrive, they not only said they could not light the furnace, but they also left it in pieces and recommended replacing it. The AC has been working fine all summer, but after they left. it would not work at all. I'm having to hire a separate company to fix what they've screwed up. IF YOU HIRE GREEN COUNTRY AIR you are opening Pandora's box! more

Well, first i want to say these guys have been referred to me by over 5 different people when i need my A/C fixed. I read the reviews and was shocked because i haven't seen any of this and all the people i talked to haven't either. Apparently these people writing these negative reviews are just the type of customer that cant be pleased at all (we all know people like that)! \r \r I called them and the girls in the office were awesome! They were polite and got straight to my problem and i felt as if they were truly concerned and not as if i were another customer just calling for a repair.\r \r I had a technician out in the time frame that i was told and the tech was uniformed with his name on his shirt which made me feel that this guy was legit. He put boot covers on to keep any dirty out of my house which i like since i just replaced my carpet. He got straight to my problem and then used his price book to give me a repair price. I like this because i wasn't worried about being charged by the hour (you know how that can go after someone takes their sweet time to rack up the time). Within 30 mins he had the A/C back up and running. He explained to me exactly what happened and why the part failed. I don;t know anything about my A/C unit but i know he does and that made me feel better. \r \r I was sooo happy with the service provide i signed up on the annual service contract to keep my system working. Thank a lot guys and i look forward to working with you in the future! more

I had hired them to install 2 ac systems in my new home, at a time they needed a job. So they were quick to start. When it came around to complete the job they were a little busy. Now everything changes with them. You cant get anyone on the phone, or you get the ""I will pass it on"" from the girl at the desk. Finally, after waiting a month, and numerous calls and faxing, I get someone out to finish. It took them over 3 weeks to do less than one week of work. Being a construction contractor myself, I am aware of how jobs progress, and what trained employees look like. After them ""completing"" the job, there were several things in the scope of the contract they had left out. Most of the things I could just do myself, so I did. However, the gas piping had not been completed, and thus the range would not work. The building department would not give a certificate of occupancy without the range working, and they were the last ones to hold up my final. After more than 10 calls into the office as Mark wont take your calls, and me finally letting the receptionist feel my frustration, I get a call from Mark (wow). I was told that they had done everything they were paid for. I explained that I can not get a final inspection and the range needs to be connected as he was already aware. Finally I get a truck out to install the line, followed by a bill for $360.00 for extra work. They had not provided extra work, but rather had charged extra for something in their contract. It left things in an unworkable state, with no more way of communication with them. I recently had a unit stop working. I thought I should bring out the olive branch and make peace if possible. But Mark, being a bit stubborn and always right, refused. Now I am finding out the problem is due to an improper installation in one of the components. I will pay to get it fixed. I have been a contractor for over 30 years. I would rate this company very low, and suggest you go elsewhere. While they are capable of doing a good job, their owner maintains an attitude that is very poor but ""always right"". Pros: Lots of trucks Cons: Can never get one out more

They installed HVAC unit in our house, but when it wasn't working properly, they billed us for the follow up visits and refused to drop the bill! AVOID! Pros: Cheap- but not even worth it Cons: Terrible service more

Avoid. Way overpriced. I had to have other vendors out to correct Green Country?s work and they all said their replacement part charges are ridiculous. Watch out for inflated labor charges. Cons: Way too expensive. more
