do not buy here. over charged me for the car I bough here. do allot of research before you even think about going here. I thought I did, but apparently I didn't do enough. Found out later the advertised price is just a bate and switch. They charge thousands above their own website price and even more over the average range price for the car... and other scammy things from the insurance to the mileage being wrong on the contract.\r \r and more... BEWARE. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 4/16/2013

Firstly I traveled from Bowie, MD. I had several conversations with a staff member prior to arrival. I received assurances that the two vehicles I had interest in were available (only one). Test drove 2006 Town & Country with Marvin (salesperson, really cool), price was $4,990.00. I'll take it so I thought, wanted to pay cash, was informed cash price was $8,995., WHAT??? O.K I want the $4,490.00 price so on to finance. I stated I would do a 24 month term at most, I was then told I could only put down $2k so that they may benefit from the interest rate and only with a 60 month term, WHAT??? Finance guy takes liberty to incorporate warranties and other miscellaneous charges (his rent, child support etc.) without conveying to me anything. Final purchase price $9,579.77. WHAT??? For a $4,990.00 vehicle, are you serious??? Was outta there!!! Just needed to vent and forewarn all whom may think a great deal is real. It certainly isn't at Guiffre, *Italian for just kidding we just wanted to get you here. more

terrible repair service 5/3/2012

I went to the service dept to get a transfer case leak repaired. Since I have extended warranty, I don't mind going to the dealer to fix the issue. But they did not fix the leak. They somehow find a way to break my key and scratch my door. I was there with another customer which have a brand new car that they manage to scratch the whole passanger side of the car. Him and I are very upset. I would stay away from this ""auto group"" (they sell many car brands.) more

scammers b ware of them 2/26/2012

very disappointed in the service and the price will rape you. I went in for service for a light on the instrument panel air bag reset, two days later the light reappear you have no idea the frustration i felt these are dealers they suppose to know what their are doing and if a switch is faulty or not. You are charge labor per hour so the car sits so they can cover there labor charges i guess because it was covered under warranty they feel their let me come back and pay for a new switch now i understand how dealers work. consumers beware. more

Terrible Terrible Terrible 12/27/2011

This was a terrible experience. Stay away from this dealer!!! They outright lied to me and were totally unprofessional. I am looking for a used Nissan Titan Crew Cab pickup. This is a fairly rare truck, so I've had to travel to look at them. I saw an ad for this pickup on Cars, com. The price was within my price range. I called the dealership, explained what I was looking for, my trade-in and financial situation (I own an Xterra, that is fully paid off, and I have good credit.) Mostly, I wanted to make sure that the car was available before I left for the dealer (who was about 40 miles away). I spoke with Goldie, who was very nice on the phone, and said all the right things, such as their late office hours, children's lounge, etc. Later that day, I decided to drive to the dealer to check it out. I called Goldie again, just to make sure the truck had not been sold in the 2-3 hours since we had originally spoken. I told her I was on my way. She assured me that the car was available. Due to some insane traffic on the BQE, it took me almost 2 hours to get to the dealership. I was told immediately that the truck was ""sold"" only moments before and that it was no longer on the lot. I was very annoyed that noone called me, or that noone told me that another customer was so close to purchasing the vehicle. However, I sensed that there was more to the story, so I asked to see a manager (Dave). Dave told me that someone had put a deposit of $100 on the truck, which he was glad to ignore if I wanted the truck. However, the prior customer couldnt get the car to start so the dealer sent the car to service. It was probably a battery problem. Dave left to call the service department, and advised that I couldnt go to the service garage to see the truck until the following day. There were no apologies for my inconvenience. I was still interested in the truck, but I didnt want to waste another afternoon if this was going nowhere. So I asked Dave if he would take a look at my trade-in to see if we would be able to make a deal. Dave said no, because his ""trade-in guy"" finished his shift at 5, and as this was 5:30, he wouldn't be able to look at my car. He said, ""I can't look at your trade right now, what can I say?"" I responded immediately, ""you could have told me that you only do trades before 5, or that the truck was nearly sold, or that it was being serviced."" Dave responded, ""I do not give free appraisals on cars. But [I] could call him the following day, after 4, and see what happened at the service garage."" I asked about the other buyer, to which he responded that $100 wasnt a real deposit in his eyes, and that he would refund the money to the other buyer if I bought the car. I threw his business card on the floor and walked out. Total waste of my time. more

most corrupt, dishonest. Stay away 11/20/2011

Stay away. I drove from westchester to brooklyn giuffre mazda because they advertised a 2005 subaru wrx for a good price, I agreed to that price with salesman, sales manager and finance person, never did anyone say that there was an additional $3000 cost that came with this vehicle. The finance person asured me that the price was what I saw advertice and them proceded to tell me the tax and registrarion fees, my interest rate and monthly payment. Never said or showed me the additional cost, he just added the 3000 to the price of car. never showed me a detailef invoice. I am currently speaking with a couple of attorneys and press to expose this crooks. more

Scammers and thiefs 11/3/2011

Buyer Beware! This is positively the worst auto dealership in NYC, I had the misfortune of trying to lease a Mazda 3 from them; as soon as I walked into the dealership with a newspaper advertisement in my hand, I was told by the saleperson that the offer was no longer in effect but that they had even better offers available. After about 3 hours of trying to scam me into giving them a $500 deposit, the salesperson filled out some form and indicated on it that the deposit was non-refundable. No wonder the guy was agigated when I insisted on thoroughly reading the fine print on the form, it basically said in fine print that all deposits are refundable by law no matter what is written on the form. That should have been my first warning, but the guy insisted that it's a standard form and all dealers do it. Long story short, they wanted me to sign a blank lease agreement because in their words, ""You need to sign it today, or you won't get the incentive bonus"" I have had enough at that point and walked out. After doing some research and asking around, I found out that apparently they're under investigation by DMV for forging people's signatures and initials. Basically stay away. Just look at their ratings with BBB or inquire with NYC Dept. of Consumer Affairs. Remember never to sign blank papers and always get copies of everything you sign!!! more

Very Suspicious, Beware!!!! 10/19/2011

I live approximately two hours away from this dealership and was interested in buying a 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4 which Giuffre had priced at $16,999. I sent a request to the dealership's contact website on a Sunday and waited three days for a phone call that never came. Typically, a dealership that wants customers usually calls within 12 hours time, so I thought this to be a little odd. But regardless, on the end of the third day, Wednesday, I called Giuffre. A woman with an accent (maybe Indian?) answered the phone. The women said that her name was Jane, and I am positive that this was her name because I could not understand her and asked her to repeat it several times!! She said to me that the car was on the lot and asked me if I wanted to see it. I had work on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and told her that I would contact her on Monday to confirm that the car was still there and to come down and see it. Two days later, on Saturday, I received a phone call from Jane and was unable to answer it because I was working at the time. A voicemail was left by Jane, stating that I never showed up for my 2PM appointment that was scheduled for the day before (Friday)... I never scheduled an appointment, so I began to wonder if this was some sort of tactic, or just sheer stupidity. On Monday, I was getting ready to call Giuffre and I decided to check their website again to make sure that the vehicle was still there. The vehicle was still there, but to my surpise, the price on the vehicle had been dropped from $16,999 to $12,999. I immediately became suspicious, because a price on a vehicle doesn't drop like that unless there is something wrong with the vehicle!! I called Giuffre to find out what was wrong with the car. I spoke with a secretary who asked me who I was calling for. I told her I was calling for Jane. The women told me that they did not have anyone named Jane working there, but that they did have a guy named Gene. She then proceeded to put me through to ""Gene."" I spoke with him and he also told me that there was no there named Jane, and no one with an accent either! Anyway, I told ""Gene"" that I was interested in the Dodge Caliber SRT-4, at which time, Gene said to hold on while he brought it up on the computer. Gene said that he had it up on the computer and asked me what I wanted to know. I told him that I wanted to know why the price was dropped on the vehicle seemingly overnight by $4,000. All of a sudden, Gene said that his computer was down and he could not bring the car up. Now how could the computer be down all of a sudden when he just told me that he had the car on the screen in front of him????? Gene didn't have an answer for me, except for telling me that he could take my name and number and contact me back. Guess what, today is Thursday (three days later), and I still haven't received a call. Sounds shady to me. Buyers beware of this dealership. All the other reviews are spot on about this place full of crooks and scum. more

Stay Away! Very Very Dishonest! 9/29/2011

I rarely write such a poor review but I feel it is necessary to warn anyone who attempts to purchase from Giuffre only because you would have to deal with the auto mechanic if you have a warranty (or should I say so you think you have one). There is such poor customer satisfaction and until they realize telling people yes something is under warranty and then later telling you it's not then this place should seriously close down. I was trapped into sending my car all the way there where in fact I could've easily brought it up the block for almost 200.00 less. My mistake was not getting a name of the person who said it was under warranty, although I'm not even sure that would've made a difference. When I explained to Tim over there the situation he was nice enough to listen and apologize, but unfortunately his boss Tommy was the complete opposite. Customer satisfaction class 101 should've told you to at least apologize to the customer. Clearly he shouldn't be dealing with people. And what did he offer as to satisfy myself and maybe stop me from writing this truthful review, nothing. Luckily AAA will tow from one place to another if you haven't already towed it to that one place already. Tommy and the person who lied to me over the phone will never realize the trouble you put me though. As having a broken foot, a 19 month old to take care of, and a husband who took enough time off from work wasn't enough, I now have to deal with rude untruthful mechanics. more

worst ever! 8/18/2011

Stay away from the short fat guy with tattoo, he is a service writer! Beware of his hidden agenda, he is only after of your MONEY! Believe me, he is never a type that could give you costumer satisfaction... OR never give chance guiffre to service your car, otherwise you'll end up regreting! more

The worst ever. School for sociopathy. 3/5/2011

OMG., I have been a car dealer for over 32 years and NEVER have I encountered a more ignorant deceptive group of incompetent sleazebags in my life. What is this group, a cash laundering front for the Mafia? I wanted to buy a car cash and could never get an out the door price. Was told it was sold. Next day it was available. WTF?? One reviewer called it a ""cesspool of deception."" I cannot even compliment these fools that much. Maybe they prey on the desperate but if you have a grain of sense"" abandon hope all ye who enter here."" The staff certainly have. Guiffre means goofy in Italian? more

Guiffre Sales and Service 11/12/2010

This dealership gives Hyundai a bad name. As many people have already commented, their sales staff are trained to deceive people. I also had a major issue with Tommy Desola, service manager for Giuffre when he admitted that his ""B"" mechanics worked on my car and NEVER saw the broken ball joint or noticed that the brakes were shot in the front. However, this didn't stop Tommy from charging me ""A"" mechancis rates on a $750+ job that wasn't done! I took it to Tommy's Auto repair on McDonald and he did a nice job on the car. Paying twice hurt, but better safe than sorry.\r \r I contacted Hyundai of America who were sympathetic, and they even called Tommy, but each Hyundai dealership is independent so Hyundai has little or no authority. Well, what good is that! I told them to check the web for many unsatisfied customers!\r \r Remember that every dealership service center has a certain amount of ""A"" and ""B"" mechanics. There is also a number of kids from private trade schools who do simple things like oil changes, etc. No dealership can make money having all ""A"" mechanics, period! Take you car elsewhere. You don't need dealerships to change your oil and do minor repairs\r \r I've had much better luck at Manfredi in Staten Island, both for sales and service. I just bought a Subaru from Manredi, but their other dealerships are pretty good as well. Mr. Giuffre should choke on his money! more

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!! 6/2/2010

I went in there ready to buy, but found a cesspool of deception. After haggling over the price, they tried to insult me with a truckload of ""hidden fees"". The sales manager was absolutely rude and treats you like you were born yesterday. All of this even before meeting with their LIEnance (finance) manager. \r These people have turned me off to the entire process. It was only when I decided to write the lovely review did I realize it's not all dealers...it's just them.\r STAY AWAY!!! Cons: BUNCH OF CROOKS more

Liars,Cheats, Thieves - WORST CAR SWINDLERS 5/31/2010

NEVER,NEVER, NEVER waste your time with this used car dealer. I wish I would have looked this up first before I made the hour long trip from New Jersey! It's not like they are giving the cars away. This dealership is stealing from the public!\r \r These guys have found a legal way to loan shark!\r \r We searched for a used car found it at Giufrre group. Called 4 times to confirm the price. Test drove the car and said okay we'll take it. We asked if there was room for negotiations the salesperson said no. We said okay, we'll pay the asking price. Salesperson gets up and does the usual disappearing act for 15 minutes comes back and says, ""What loan terms do you want?"". We say, no we are paying in CASH. No loan. We want to buy the car. The salesperson then tells us, ""oh no, I can't sell this car unless you buy it with a loan from us.""\r The manager comes over and is rude and arrogant and tell us I don't sell cars unless you take out a loan for it. What a great way to rob unsuspecting people that can least afford to have huge payments on a used car. Pros: NONE - They don't deserve any rating but the site forces one Cons: LIARS more

THEY ARE THE WORST ... A BUNCH OF SWINDLERS 4/16/2010

Called an made an appt to see a car. Confirmed the car will be available for a test drive that day. Got reminder emails and calls about my appointment. got there on time but my sales guy left early. The person covering for him told me the car I want to see if not available and not at that location. why confirm the appointment but not mention that? Your time means nothing to these guys. They will bait and switch you if they can. be careful wish I could leave them 0 stars. more

Worst Dealer ever 2/18/2010

This is the worst dealership I have ever been in in my 30 years of buying cars. They tell you they have a car in which you have just seen online when they truly do not. I was on the lot when I called asking about a specific car and was told it was on the lot. Mind you I went to three lots looking for this vehicle and knew they did not have it. After waiting for over an hour to finally have a salesman ""help"" me I was told the vehicle which I know is not on the lot was sold.I believe these dealers are racist since I am hispanic and had to wait over an hour for ""assistance"" yet my caucasian friend which i brought along was able to get a salesman within minutes of entering the dealership. I will never ever step foot onto any of their lots or any lot they are associated with nor will recommend them to my worst enemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Cons: All more

The absolute worst dealership I ever visited 1/5/2010

Giuffre Kia Mazda Mitsubishi Hyundai is a car dealership that preys on consumers. You will regret any dealings with them. They engage in bate and switch tactics, they provide consumers with incomplete and inaccurate information and they try to trick consumers into purchasing warranties that they do not need or want.\r \r At the end of December 2009, I called Giuffre and asked about the availability of a 2004 Lexus RX 330. They told me that the car was available and I went in to see it. When I arrived, I was driven across town to see the car and told that the vehicle was actually moved to another location only minutes after my call notifying them that I was coming in to see it. WHY? After this inconvenience and waste of time, when I arrived at the other location, I noticed that I was being shown a more expensive 2005 and not the 2004 that I inquired about. I was told by the agent that the 2004 was sold quite some time ago. ""Then why was I told it was here?"" I asked. The agent said that the receptionist probably didn't check. I had travelled all the way to Brooklyn from mid-town manhattan by train and figured I would go ahead and look at the 2005. When I went into the car, it would not start. I was told that it would need a jump and guess what, the cables were back across town at the other location. So why didn't I leave then you might ask? Because I had already invested a couple hours. When I went back to the first location. I was convinced to stay there and wait for the car to be brought to me. While waiting I asked to see the carfax report several times to no avail. Finally, after demanding to see it, I was given an abbreviated version that omitted all pertinent information. I became increasingly suspicious and called a friend who ran the report for me. The full report revealed that the car was in an accident - information that the dealers intentionally and deceitfully withheld. Hours later I was still at the dealership, I finally test drove the car, liked the car in spite of the accident and decided to purchase. (I know, in retrospect I realize I should have ran for the hills many times but understand, these people are very good at what they do. their tactic is to delay and wear out the consumer so that eventually, out of desperation and exhaustion, they agree to purchase.) I returned the following day to purchase the car. The agent who handled financing went over the terms and I heard him quickly mention the word ""warranty"". I asked him to repeat more slowly and confirmed that they were trying to sell me a $3000 warranty. I explained that I did not want to purchase it. And guess what, after 8 hours of my time wasted, travel expense to and from the dealership, Giuffre refused to sell me the car without the warranty. They figured that I had invested so much, I wouldn't possibly walk away. But I did. I wish I read these reviews prior to dealing with this shady company. It amazes me that this dealership is still in business. Pros: There was nothing positive about my experience Cons: Service, Advertising, Etc. more
