Best

A Chicago landmark and must try if you haven't. Great Italian dishes and deep dish pizza.

Worst

This location was so slow I would have left had it not been raining. It took 90 min. to get one pie. At that, it was lukewarm at best and very average...

A Chicago Tradition 9/9/2008

I have the pleasure of visiting Chicago every year or two and always make it a point to eat at Giordano's. I just got back and was not disappointed. It is everything I remember. The staff was courteous and the food was very good. I'll be having pizza for breakfast. Thanks for the memories! See you next year! Pros: Good Food Cons: Sometimes it can take 45 minutes to get your pizza. more

Love it! Better than Pizzeria Uno, Lou Malnati's, Gino's East - HANDS DOWN! 8/25/2008

We love pizza, could eat it every day, and have been to Giordano's, Pizzeria Uno, Lou Malnati's, Gino's East - and honestly - Giordano's is the BEST. Awesome tasty crust, excellent sauce, stretchy and yummy cheese - don't even bother with toppings, this pizza is heaven. Gino's East would get second place, but the place smelled so much like spilled, stale beer, that the pizza ended up tasting like beer (depends on your liking, but that is not a good thing for us). Lou Malnati's was a HUGE disappointment, the pizza crust was disgusting, cheese and sauce OK, and Pizzeria Uno tasted like frozen pizza - enough said. Pros: Location on Rush is a really nice restaurant, comfortable; food is awesome Cons: Long wait (but to be expected with such a great pizza) more

Not as good as I'd like 2/17/2008

I don't know how the restaurant itself is, but the pizza isn't really that great (or, it wasn't for me). Lou Malnati's or Chicago's Pizza and Pasta easily beats it. Prices are decent, or at least comparable to those other places, but, once again, pizza just not that good. And fettuccine alfredo could have been a LOT better. more

Fantastic Pizza 7/17/2007

2nd time eating here from Houston. Both times the pizza has been exceptional, and the staff are very friendly. There was a bit of a wait, but when this place gets the reviews it gets, you come to expect it, but then you can place your order ahead of time, and when you are seated, it doesn't take long at all for it to be delivered. Pros: Food, Staff Cons: Long lines more

Love it! 4/6/2007

I love Giordano's! Although the Zagat guide is correct when it says ""varies by location"" I've ate at the Rush St. location which is great! And the Belmont location is good, but the Naperville location was not so great. But I love Giordano's stuffed pizza, it is only 2nd to Chicago's on Sheffield (possibly a tie though). The only negative things I have to say are that they wont deliver to my apartment (even though I'm just right down Chicago Ave, but oh well I just order from Chicago's) and this location is usually very crowded. Oh another plus is that you can order their stuffed pizzas online and have them shipped anywhere... this will be the best when I move in 3 months. Pros: great stuffed pizza! Cons: wont deliver to my area, crowded more

It was okay... 3/24/2007

My daughter (college junior) and I were in Chicago for one of her internship interviews and ate at Giordano's before heading back home to Kentucky. We were excited to try Chicago pizza since there was so much buzz on the Chicago ""pizza experience"". The dining area decor was tastefully done and the service was great; the Caesar's salad was delicious with the most wonderful croutons (garlicky and lots of olive oil, just like I make at home). However, I have to say the pizza was just okay -- nothing to get crazy excited over and certainly not a noteworthy ""Chicago pizza experience"". While the sauce held some flavor, the crust was very dry and the overall pizza was kind of bland. Clearly, Elizabethtown, Kentucky (yes -- the location of Cameron Crowe's film ""Elizabethtown"") is not know as the ""Pizza Capital"" with its Pizza Huts, Papa John's and Domino's, but I have had more flavorful pies at Impellizari's and Wick's in Louisville. I will say one good thing about Giordano's pizza, the leftovers tasted better cold on our return trip home. Pros: Ambience, Service Cons: lack of flavor more

Great Thick-Crust Pizza Experience 3/23/2007

We were visiting Chi-town for a weekend getaway and wanted to have a casual evening. We decided on Chicago-style Pizza. Giorgano's was right down the street and had received good reviews, so we thought we would try it. It was wonderful! The crust was light and flakey w/ a great buttery taste. Tons of stringy cheese and the veggies were crisp and fresh. The best part was the fresh tomato sauce on top. In addition, the service was that of a 5-star restaurant w/pizza parlor prices! more

Great Pizza and Awesome Memories 2/3/2007

I can proudly say that I have eaten at Giordano's once in my life. My college group that I toured with in 1993 had the pleasure of eating there on a stop, and I was blown away! The pizza was the thickest, cheesiest, and tastiest I had ever put in my mouth. I was so good, it makes you want to weep! I haven't eaten there since then, but I haven't found in any of my travels pizza that compares to this restaurants yet. Although I live in Arkansas, I still brag on the great taste of Giordano's to anyone that mentions good pizza. The atmosphere was cozy, the tables weren't enough to hold our entire group, but they were kind enough to accomodate us without any fuss. The staff was extremely friendly and inviting the service was great! We didn't want for anything. The wait is sooooo worth it for a fresh, hot pie straight out of the oven. We were enjoying ourselves so much that we didn't notice actually how long it took to enjoy our meal. I would advise anyone in the surrounding area to visit and have their deep dish at least once. If I lived close by, I would order probably once or twice a week. I hope to visit Chicago again soon, so look for me! I'll be the one with the gigantic grin on my face!! more

The Best Pizza Around!!! 1/1/2007

I tried this place once and have been hooked ever since. I love the sauce and crust, It has a bit too much cheese but thats ok. I've tried their sandwiches as well as their pizza and t's all around great. I would totally recommend this place to people. Get there early as it gets really crowded especially on weekends. It is totally worth the wait! Pros: the best pizza Cons: it becomes very crowded (shoulder to shoulder crowded) more

Best pizza in Chiago 11/27/2006

I absolutely love giordano's pizza. My family and I eat there at least 2-3 times a month. Especially when I don't feel like cooking dinner. We seem to never tire the place. The prices are resonable, the pizza is always hot, fresh, and never burned. They also offer coupons. Aside from the parking, their range of delivery is too close, so we either have to dine in or pick up. Pros: hot, fresh, food Cons: limited parking and delivery more

Best Stuffed Pizza Anywhere! 11/23/2006

Okay fine... I may be an out of towner, but my tastebuds still think this place has some of the best Chicago Style Stuffed Pizza ever! The first time I came here, there was a long wait so I opted to go to another Chicago Pizza Restaurant (Lou Minoulta's). Later I came back to try Giordanos because I heard so much about it, and boy was I glad I came back. The pizza does take awhile came out, but that was because it isn't made until you order it. I completely destroyed all of that pizza and held no prisoners! It was cheesy (the way I like it) and had a great crust (usually I dont eat crust). To anyone from out of town, I completely suggest coming here to eat. If you dont want to wait long, I suggest just coming at an offpeak time. Pros: Best Pizza Ever! Cons: Long long wait. more

Let's argue about what's best 11/21/2006

I give this place a great rating because I'd like others to try it. But I'm originally from NY so we enjoy a different type of ""foldable"" pizza there. And this is not foldable, it comes in a deep dish. Still, I liked the atmosphere and although the Pizza is not my favorite, it is worth a try. Pros: The original for Chicago, gotta go to this one Cons: May not please everyone, parking more
