Freebirds SUCK if u ask me! They give the smallest portion possible and compared to Bullritos-well there really isn't any comparison.

Best Burrito, Hands Down 7/4/2011

This is about the best you can get when it comes to burritos. There are things you have to consider when creating your burrito at these types of places. LESS IS MORE. I also used to work here. A lot of people mess up their burrito by trying to put too much of what they like on it. You might like it all, but it may not all taste good together. A lot of people complain when they put lettuce on their burritos, lettuce and head dont go together so well, so I also dont recommend wrapping lettuce into your hot burrito. You also have to know your meats. Different meats taste different with different toppings. I like all the meats here, so when I get a burrito here, my toppings depend on the kind of meat that I choose. The dark meat chicken is awesome with lime juice, bad ass bbq sauce, and death sauce. The steak tastes awesome. The carnitas is good with sour cream. Their rice and beans are also tasty. I love this place. more

Stinky Mediocure Food 4/23/2011

I have been there twice. Both times because I was dragged by a friend. The first time the place smelled so bad of rotten garbage we had to move twice just to fine a spot both inside or outside that we could stomach eating at the same time as the stench. After having to bath in humid air of rotten trash I said I would never go back again. But, one of my friends said it is not like that and to give it another chance, so I did. The smell was not as bad the second time, but it was still there. The staff is friendly, but my burrito was dry and not very flavorful. Overall why go someplace that I really do not like the food and the air smells. more

My guilty pleasure 5/13/2010

Love it! It gets a little bust around lunchtime, but it's worth the wait. The BBQ sauce is amazing and the queso is worth the upgrade. Pros: Great quality, fun staff Cons: Long lines sometimes more

Great steak fajita meat at a great price 6/26/2009

Freebirds would make a KILLING if it had locations near UH or Rice. I frequent this and the I-10/Taylor location, and almost always get three crispy corn tacos with only four ingredients each: steak, haba?ero sauce, jalape?os, and guacamole. Been there enough so that the staff already knows what to do when I walk up. LOL At the time of this writing, those tacos only run me $4.77, plus $1.50 for a drink. Compare that to Chipotle for the same tacos, where it's pushing $20 for food and drinks for two people, and the meat isn't as well-seasoned. I've also had their steak salads, steak bird bowls, and steak burritos, and enjoyed them all thoroughly. You might say I like steak, and Freebirds doesn't disappoint. Think I'll go get some now! Pros: Well-seasoned steak fajita meat, very affordable Cons: There aren't more locations in Houston! more

Great food, creepy and disrespectful employee (Ashley??) -- place will be great again when she's gone 5/22/2008

This review is going to start out crappy, but end delicious. Bear with me now... Pros: Great quickie burritos, fresh ingredients, fun atmosphere, super value Cons: Stalker employee Ashley, only one in Houston :) more

Not bad, but still a Chipotle fan. 9/20/2007

Overall, Freebirds isn't too bad. They're higher priced than their rival, Chipotle, which is a con, but they DO have free flowing cilantro, which is always a plus for me. They also charge for sour cream, which is kind of ridiculous. Their rice is a little bland, but, like I said, it's not bad. It's about a 9.50+ meal for a burrito of comparable size (like from Chipotle) and a soda. The major plus? Amy's Ice Cream is right next door. Give it a shot. My friends who prefer Freebirds say it's the rice. I don't see it, but maybe you will. Pros: Extra cilantro! Cons: Price, service shoddy sometimes, rice. more

Best Burritos in Town 8/23/2007

This is hands down the best place in Houston for a made to order burrito. Ingredients are always fresh and way more variety than other burrito places. Try some roasted garlic and the BBQ sauce on your burrito - it's really good! more

Best Burrito! 2/22/2007

My husband and I have heard people talk about Freebirds, but we had never tried it. Finally, we gave into our gut instinct and gave this place a try. We were amazed! We were pleasantly greeted, and we told them it was our first time dining there. They were so warm and friendly, and went down through the whole ordering process. Everything was a breeze, and all the ingredients looked so fresh. The taste? My goodness! It was amazing. Everything you wanted...was there. Not only was it fresh, but it was spread evently throughout, and you just didn't taste a glob of an ingredient. The music was awesome. They were playing songs from the 90's, and the decor was just so fun, and inviting. People kept coming in, and ordering so you know it's good when it's constantly busy. We left stuffed, and happy, and agreed that we'd be back for sure :) Pros: Best Burrito! Great friendly staff more

Great burrito with WIFI 9/27/2006

I love the burritos here and they have the no tortilla option as well for those low carb people. I like to come here eat lunch and work on stuff on the computer. Having WiFi was a great idea. Pros: Cheap, WiFi Cons: Long lines at lunchtime more

2nd Freebird opened in Houston Area 3/15/2005

Freebirds is AMAZING!!! What's even better is that within the last year another Freebird's opened in the Houston area (with a Jamba Juice next door) - Bay Area Blvd, not far from I45 (opposite side of freeway from mall) across from Taco Cabana. I had my first Freebird a year ago and I have been hooked ever since. Great for college students because you can get a Monster and eat off it for days. Plus you can get Stamps to get Stuff(ed) with every burrito purchase (you get Freebird T's, hats or a free burrito). Pros: cheap, filling, good more

LOVE IT! 5/18/2004

Freebirds is one of my favorites places to eat in the world! The food is amazing and you don't go home hungry that's for sure. Anyone who hasn't tried it should, because you don't know what you are missing. My boyfriend and I go there when ever we are in downtown because we love the place so much. It's kind of like fast food but it's almost a restraunt, the environment is a lot of fun. It can get crowded but it's worth it just for the food. Pros: great food, fun environment Cons: , parking isn't great more
