Ffc Union Station (fitness Formula Clubs)

I like this club a lot. I've belonged for a few years now and it's a fairly clean and well-equipped gym. I've gotten a few massages over the years...which leads me to the next part of this review: DAVID M, the masseuse there, CROSSED THE LINE when he gave me my massage. What he did to me was utterly UNETHICAL and UNPROFESSIONAL and he should NOT have a massage license let alone a job at this point. I want to warn any woman against getting a massage from him. Other girls in the locker room say he has tried things with them, too, and still management has done nothing about the problem but keep him on staff. There are other masseuses and I haven't heard of any bad experiences with them so next time I will choose someone else to get a massage from. A club with such a pricey tag should be paying their employees, right? My few times in the gym, I've seen lots of sharp sales associates in their office-- management that sits around and socializes-- and a checkin person who is forced to stand for their entire shift. Upstairs, I've seen an abundance of dirty towels, lack of trainers upstairs-- everyone is usually talking (Which isn't bad... if they would walk around and notice the people paying every now and then to make sure we aren't about to drop a weight on our head or twist our arm from using equipment improperly). Also, trainers rarely make their appointments. I was stood up for mine. After talking with others, it seems they were stood up as well. Given the expression of the "little people" in this corporation, it doesn't seem that they're too satisfied. I see new faces regularly which makes me think little is done to keep the faces I had grown fond of. Good work goes unnoticed and unrewarded. Too bad. The gym had potential. If you want to pay a lot for using equipment without any help that you could have paid a lot less for elsewhere... Then this is the gym for you. If not... move on. There are many comparable clubs out there that cost less. Pros: Great Equiptment. Decent classes. Cons: Poor service. Uninformed Staff. (No one knows anything about anything other than the mediocre task they're doing). more

The club is not bad. Serious people who are into themselves really go here. Don't lock your bike up on Jackson Street in front of the club. People get there bikes stolen all summer long. Head of Security for the building has cameras there but Mark Dillman the guy in charge of securtiy won't try and make it safer or post a guard out there. I know guys who have lost 800 dollar bikes. Even if you make a police report Dillman won't show the security camera to you. I guess he doesn't care. You would think the FFC would tell its members that bike thieves wait until you lock up your bike and then come by and cut off the lock. more

Just joined this club as a multi-branch member. Very dissatisfied. It's an okay "do-it-yourself" gym, but for the price I'd investigate other options first. Staff haven't a clue re customer service--surly, gossipy, "trainers" point to an instruction manual re use of machines, lack of available staff, knowledge deficits re exercise basics. Add to it unclean lockers, dirty towels UNDER THE COMPUTERS, wet/dirty towels in the showers at most of the clubs I've been to and you get the picture. Has made for a less-than-motivating experience for this newcomer. Also, don't be fooled by the "open 24 hrs". If you read the fine print, you'll find that they're only open M-TH for 24 hrs, something they didn't state prior to membership. Cost me $11 for 15 mins in unreimbursed parking to find out. Rrrgggh, these folks don't have a clue. Go elsewhere for your money. more

Union Station Multiplex is great all the way around. However, there is no free parking. Paying $3.50 for the garage can get expensive everyday. If you work close by or take a train into union station then it would be your best bet. I love it there so much I don't mind the long commute on my bike. This is a great club with friendly attentive staff, lots of good classes and plentiful equipment! As a relative newcomer to the fitness club world, I have found everyone to be welcoming and helpful. This club is not stuffy or uncomfortable for those who are not already totally fit and trim. Longer hours on the week-ends would be nice for those of us who live in the neighborhood, but I recognize that there are probably more commuters than locals.
