Look no further, The Fenix is the place to go! 6/12/2005

Located in the heart of Pioneer Square, The Fenix Underground is by far the best club in Seattle. The 1st and 2nd floor are set up for live bands. The 2nd floor has the stage and the dance floor. The 1st floor has a balcony that looks down on the band and the dancefloor. The 3rd floor (Underground) has a huge dance floor, including a cage and a pole. Depending on which night you go, they have different styles of music. DJ Trent Von is the best DJ in Seattle! So Saturdays are great! And on Sundays he spins 80's music, which is awesome! The bar staff are extremely polite and they make great cocktails. Plenty of room to dance and lounge on the many couches located all around the club. Great atmosphere and good times! Pros: Atmosphere, Music, Drinks Cons: Parking, Small Pool Tables, Little Expensive more

Best Club In town 1/2/2005

The Fenix is the best club I have been to in a long time. The place to go in seattle. The atmosphere is great. The bartenders are awesome, and the owner spared no expense inside more

Underground is keyword 12/8/2004

I came from Los Angeles and know what a techno club should look and sound like; and all I can say is DAMN. Fenix blew me away with it's expert dj playing the right mix of trance and progressive house that spun me back to my Hollywood days. Who said Seattle was depressing? Pros: Inexpensive, crowded, great music more

CHECK IT OUT 8/29/2004

Make sure you go on a Saturday night.....this place was hoppin this weekend! Friday's are more quiet and laid back....Saturday you can barely move! Their drinks are phenominal, ask for the bartender special for a fruity drink and give your taste buds a treat.....definitely go here for a good time, to meet people, and for great music!! more

The Best Part is the Undergound Part 8/22/2004

Live bands boogy upstairs. Top 40 Djs boogy downstairs, underground, where most of the booty-shaking takes place. The dance floors are sized well, and never get too crowded. There is an ample supply of lounging couches, and tables/counters to place your drinks - so it's easy to find a place to chill with your date. The cleaning service does very well in keeping up after the abandoned drinks; and the bartending service - that I've received - does well in mixing the drinks. The only attribute of this club that fizzles out, is that the downstairs dj plays top 40 - which is a major negative for me. Rap & hip-hop lovers, such as myself, will spend a lot of time waiting for a danceable beat. Other than that, Fenix has shown good service and a good venue, to make it a top choice for dancing in Seattle. Pros: Spacious Venue, Joint Cover, Lounging Areas more

Best in Seattle 2/4/2004

The fenix turns out a huge mixed crowd and appeals to many different scenes. The Dj is great but there is also a live band upstairs. This place is SO HUGE its great for nights where most clubs are over packed (ie halloween, NYE..). Pros: joint cover, great music, huge venue more

Best club in seattle 1/18/2004

I've been to many clubs in the Seattle area and the Fenix is the best one I've seen. The drinks are fairly expensive , so i recommend paying the $12 joint cover for all the pioneer square clubs and going to Larry's for some cheap drinks. Then come back to the Fenix and you're all good. On Sundays they close down the bars on the top 2 floors to allow 18+ in, so the lines for drinks on the bottom floor will be longer than on other nights when all 5 bars are open. Overall this is a great place-- live music is often showcased, there's lots of room, and places to go and just talk/ relax. Pros: live music, great atmosphere, nice layout Cons: expensive drinks, sometimes long lines more

World Class 7/1/2003

Hands down Seattle has it's first real dance club with the arrival of the new FENIX. Unlike the rest, this place is not another bar or pub with a dancefloor. Currently, there are a handful of clubs that handle a capacity over 500, but the FENIX is comparable in style and environment to clubs that I have been to or run in NYC, SF or L.A. 'Nuff said. Pros: Design/Decor, Music - Live & DJ, Service Staff Cons: VIP & Cigar room(s), Dining more

weak music - nice views 6/26/2003

Been there 3x in the last couple weeks. Music upstairs is 80's music downstairs is lame (as in not good) dance music (r&b/hip-hop). definitely lotta hotties (and maybe a few too many guys) - drinks are $$ but the women are in full force! will continue to go. Pros: after hours, hotties, women Cons: too many guys, expensive drinks more

Poor Choice in music 6/25/2003

I was very surprised that the new Fenix Underground is using 2/3 of their hip new club for live music from the 80's. It is amazing that there are still club goers out there who still want to listen top the same old bands (Hit Explosion, The Beatniks). The DJ that spins in the underground is awesome but the dance floor is way to small since all that wasted space is upstairs. Maybe they should do a live night and a DJ night but I know that many patrons are unhappy with the limited space provided for those that dont want to listen to the same old, over played cover tunes being played in the rest of the club. Pros: atmosphere, good DJ, Nice staff Cons: live music, overplayed cover band, wasted space more

  • The Scene
An earthquake might be the best thing that ever happened to the Fenix, historically the biggest club in Pioneer Square. Its new space is bigger and has cleaner bathrooms, and with a total of five bars, there's never a wait for a drink. A stage upstairs, complete with balcony, and two enormous floors downstairs provide room for dancing and live music, ranging from well-known local DJs to almost-famous touring bands.

    The Draw
There is more than enough space for dancing or listening. The layout is wonderful, with conversation nooks and open areas to combat that crowded-club feeling. Add just enough light to avoid tripping over fellow clubgoers, and the Fenix is the perfect nightspot: upscale, yet comfortable, with a crowd composed of equal parts hipsters, clubhoppers, goths and live-music fans.
