Every time I come back to Virginia Highlands I always go to eats three or fout times a week for lunch, BEFORE or AFTER the crowds set in. The crew is always happy and always grill my garlic bread the way I want it. I go for the green pasta with turkey sauce and a side of pesto, or the jerk chicken with greens and beans. Bob the owner is always on the floor bussing tables and there is a great mix of suits, blue collar, and students. I get a kick from the black chicks dressed to the nines. So it's not fancy, but always clean. If you have a hard time getting on to Ponce take a left out of the parking lot and go through the neighborhood to Monroe and go left to head to Boulevard and downtown. Turn left on Ponce from Monroe to head east toward Decatur. They do take plastic, contrary to other reviews and if you need some resturant to make you feel important or to kiss your a*s please go somewhere else away from the neighborhood because we don't want you here. I'd like a place like this in my new town.
Pros: Lots of good simple food, not pretentious
Cons: I'd only wish they would add the old Tortilla's menu
