Best

Eats is becoming somewhat of a legend. Excellent food; low prices; kitschy atmosphere. What more can you ask for? What I don't get is how they can make super-simple things l...

Worst

The BBQ chicken was tender and flavorful but the macaroni-n-cheese was a little bland. The cornbread and collards were ok. I brought the turkey lasagna home to my son and he lov...

Absolute Favorite 10/7/2005

I visit Atlanta at least twice a year and a visit to Eats is mandatory. The food is pretty good, the ambiance is so-so, the parking sucks, but for $5-$6 and change, it's a marvel. I love the jerk chicken, greens, and of course the sweet tea. Long live Eats! Pros: Unbeatable Value, Tasty, Sweet Tea Cons: Parking, Parking, Parking more

Amazing Food, Unbelieveale Prices 3/20/2005

This amazing ""hole in the wall"" services some of the best chicken and greens in Atlanta and for some of the lowest prices. Given, it feels a bit like a soup kitchen, the food is much better than many of the more expensive restaurants in the Highlands neighborhood next door. Pros: Value, Food Cons: Ambiance, Parking more

Not what I was let to believe 7/17/2004

This place had been talked up by so many people I could't believe how weak I found it to be. The food is limited to very few choices and each item involves waiting in a different line. You can get better prepared foos at whole foods next door or even at the publix and both have nicer seating areas too. The pasta sauces were bland also and the chicken was dry. Pros: Tortellini, Cheap Cons: , scary parking more

no credit cards 7/9/2004

One thing to remember is this place does not accept credit cards. Also the amount of parking available for this restaurant is very limited as well as being tough to get into and out of (bad traffic location on Ponce and lot is narrow so it is tough to turn around in the lot before heading back out into traffic on Ponce). The food that is available is decent but the range of selections is somewhat limited. Pros: ambiance, cheap food Cons: , limited parking more

Eats is the best place ever!!! 4/8/2004

Pasta Leon!! I've been going to Eat's since college and the pasta, chicken and vegetables are great!! There are all kinds of people that ""Eat"" there and the prices are great!!! You'll also be surprised which Atlanta celebrities frequent Eats! Pros: Taste of Food, Prices, Atmosphere Cons: , Exit Door more

Well, it IS cheap... 1/4/2004

The pasta isn't bad, although the sauces are heavy. I tried a vegetable plate the other day and the baked potato was good and they were generous with the sour cream. Unfortunately, the broccoli was hot but raw, the baby lima beans were actually butter beans, and the macaroni and cheese was breaded (???). But, it truly is cheap. Pros: inexpensive, accessible Cons: food more

An all time favorite 8/7/2003

Actually, this is no longer a cash only place...it started accepting credit/debit cards awhile back (maybe a year??). Anyway, I've have been going here for years and absolutely love it. They have a delicious marinara sauce (actually, they introduced a creamy marinara that is even better!!). The atmosphere is great as well...nothing fancy...very casual. Always interesting characters behind the counter! :-) Pros: good food, cheap, relatively fast Cons: parking is limited, bums hangout more

Eats should be number one 2/7/2003

Giant plates of food, real cheap, drinks come in cans, almost a do-it-yourself atmosphere but not quite. Cool place Pros: Huge plates, Cheap, Young urban-type atmo Cons: parking sucks more

Mama Mia 1/5/2003

Eats is fast, easy, and delicious. With fabulous pasta and killer chicken, Eats cures everyones cravings for good food! Pros: fast service, good food, cozy atmosphere Cons: sometimes long lines more

Great food. Great people. 12/15/2002

Eats and Vrasity are the best things that have ever happened to the Atl. Eats has great food and a great atmosphere that everyone will love. Anyone that would put bad ratings for Eats, Doc Cheys, or Varsity is working for another restaurant. Dont believe em. They are a must for out-of-towners. Pros: Great food, Great atmosphere, Great Value more

the best 12/11/2002

cheap food fast--the best jerk chicken and veggies around. I eat there at least twice weekly. Ambience is low-rent, po-lice, street, loser, black white and blue collar regular joe. more

YUMMY and light on the wallet 11/3/2002

You can't beat it! Chicken or pasta, fast, cheap and scrumptious! A favorite for years and years, even before I came to live in Atlanta, 6 years ago! As a matter of fact, i think i'll have lunch there today, which will mean that i'll have leftovers for dinner as well, so much food!!! Pros: Cheap & in large amts Cons: there, are, none more

Delicious! 10/3/2002

Really good pasta, fast service, excellent jerk chicken, fresh veggies, garlic bread to die for and something that all good southern restaurants need -excellent iced tea! Wonderful, well worth the trip again and again!! more

I'm Glad Atlanta Has Eats! 10/3/2002

I have enjoyed eating at Eats for several years. It is a very casul and fun dining experiance. If you visit Atlanta you should stop by Eats. Pros: Fresh Foods, Fun People more

good value 10/1/2002

The food is pretty good but finding a place to sit or eat during rush hour can be a pain. you know the place has good food there's always cops in there! more

Yummy! 9/24/2002

This is another place on Roz's Must Go list for Atlanta. The food is cheap and good, but don't eat the cornbread if you're used to Jiffy mix cornbread like me (I'm from the South). Try the Jerk chicken with black beans. The pastas are awesome also! - Roz more

Sometimes a title is just a title 9/15/2002

Didn't used to frequent eats, but they added a vegetable/chicken area with excellant chicken chili (spicey and GOOD) and fresh veggies, I will definately be back for more. And still really cheap. more

Eats is the BEST of the CHEAP!!!! 8/22/2002

I have been going to Eats for years now. It has changed very little, and that's a good thing. The pasta dishes are all very good, and the portions are MORE than adequate. The JERK CHICKEN is also to die for. The meat just falls off the bone. Mmmm...You can treat 4 people to a meal there and it would be less than $30!!!! EXCELLENT!!!! Pros: Cheap, Tasty, Little 5 Atmosphere Cons: Bums outside, Not enough parking more

Burgers and beyond. 8/14/2002

The Vortex is known for its burgers but has more to offer. The weekend brunch is limited but very good. They also have very good soup and specialty sandwhiches. Pros: Good protions, Good price Cons: No parking more

Little Five Points in Midtown 8/11/2002

Not much of a selection here, but I am someone who could live on a bowl of pasta with a good pesto sauce and an Italian sausage. Don't take flighty, first dates here. I have enjoyed the hearty portions especially after an exerting day at the park. Pros: Good food, Let your hair down Cons: Standing in line, Well, the ambience more
