I've been to many spas and this is the bomb! Go here, be pampered. It's worth it. This place has great energy. I could live here.

Worst

I have had many massages, both professional and from students in training and this was by far the most ameturish massage I have ever paid for. While the space and facilities are ...

A place to relax, detox and feel a million times better! 10/29/2006

I have gone to a lot of spas and had a lot of massages and this is the best experience to date. I went there to work out the kinks in my back neck and shoulders and came out feeling physically and mentally relaxed. First off, the spa is beautiful, clean and so comfortable. Every amentiy imaginable is available (they even have toothbrushes to help you freshen up!). The massage therapist found sore spots that even I didn't know I had and the immense fountain set the tone to my massage and kept my mind off the rest of the world. Pros: Ambience, Quality Staff, Great Value Cons: None more

I also had a mini facial and their products were great and their recommendations on how to wash my face better were invaluable. I have REALLY sensitive skin and my face glowed for the week after with no sign of irritation from the products. Thank heavens that we finally have an upscale spa in the area. Enjoy! FANTASTIC SPA! 9/11/2006

FINALLY! A great day spa for the Eastenders! I have been waiting for this day for 10 years. Dtox Day Spa was definitely worth the wait. I have been watching it through its construction, waiting, oh waiting, for it to finally open its doors and I was not disappointed. The place is beautiful! It is simple and modern with an asian flair, perfect for those with a modern sensibility, and tired of the 'old lady', romanesque spas that are littered throughout the city. The central waiting area was amazing, with two white rock waterfalls, chaise loungers, fruit, hot teas, and water....so relaxing. The staff was courteous and nice and my massage was awesome! I requested a deep tissue, but they also included some hot stones (I found out later that it's always included). I will definitely be returning and am so glad to have a great spa on this side of town. KUDOS! Pros: fabulous setting, skilled therapists, small boutique atmosphere Cons: none yet more

Best day spa on the East side--Los Feliz, Atwater 9/8/2006

I was thrilled to find this gem of a day spa in my neighborhood of Los Feliz. Heres my quick story. It was a Saturday and I decided that I needed facial immediately. A bit apprehensive about finding just the right place in my neighborhood (I wasnt in the mood to drive any great distance) that would satisfy, I opened LA City Search, typed in my zip code and just chose. I picked dtox. To my pleasant surprise the guy who answered the phone explain that the products where all natural and with many organic options (It doesnt mention this on the website?) and that he could get me in, in an hour. If I wanted to come early he said, I could sit in the steam room. I was sold. Pros: Clean, beautiful, organic products Cons: Air conditioning a bit high in spa area but I warmed up after the steam room! more

If I wanted to come early he said, I could sit in the steam room. I was sold. When I entered (after parking for free in the rear) I was again surprised by the well-chosen aesthetics. To me a well designed space speaks volumes about the energy of its inhabitants and creator. Think West Elm meets Asian water fountains. It was one of the cleanest spas Ive ever been to. Open for approx a month, its shinny new. So come get it while its fresh and the steam room doesnt smell. There are also fresh oranges in the water, blueberries for the eating and organic teas all while you can lounge in one of the atriums chaises soaking in the vitamin D that is pouring down upon you from the sun. My esthetician was adorable and knowledgeable. The facial room was spacious and cozy. I could hear the water fountains in the atrium, which helped me to relax. My skin looked and felt great. I highly recommend this experience. dtox is totally handicap accessible too. Pros: Clean, beautiful, organic products Cons: Air conditioning a bit high in spa area but I warmed up after the steam room! more

Beautiful, intimate spa 9/6/2006

I've been to dtox twice and loved the experiences. The facility is small and beautifully decorated so it felt like I was in a gorgeous home. The common area with the water fountain and buddha fixture is so serene I took time after my facial to sit there and quietly transition back to the real world. My treatments were wonderful and relaxing even though the rooms are not fully enclosed -- the sound of the water in the common area drowns out any ambient noises. I actually fell asleep at one point. The in-house products are amazing. I use a couple of them regularly and highly recommend the line to anyone. I go to many large chain and resort spas which are also beautiful and provide excellent service. But dtox day spa is a nice change since I feel like I am de-stressing in my own home. Pros: Small, intimate, beautifull decorated Cons: None more

My new favorite spa 9/6/2006

While visiting a friend in LA, I had the opportunity to visit the dtox day spa for an afternoon of pampering. The environment was tranquil and aesthetically pleasing, and the staff was also very pleasant. I've had a back injury, so I'm pretty picky about massages. At dtox I had a fantastic massage by a woman named Nami, who used her strong hands and hot stones to knead the pain and stiffness out of my body. I followed that up with a hot shower and some time in the steam room (they have a sauna as well), and then I lounged around and ate fresh blueberries while testing out a bunch of their products. My favorite was the vitamin water spray, which I bought to take home. Upon leaving the spa, I found myself feeling equally relaxed and energized at the same time. I felt great the next day as well, and I have concluded that Nami has given me the best massage I've had yet. Overall my experience at dtox was excellent and I will definitely go back. The only sad part is I live in San Francisco so I might have to wait a while. Pros: Great massages, attractive interior design, tranquil atmosphere Cons: There isn't one in San Francisco (yet...?) more

Tranquil Spa, Nice Staff and Wonderful Products 8/17/2006

Update! I returned to try out Narayan's High Heel Pedicure - wow! Two hours of heaven! She saved my heals - I had been to several other places for all sorts of foot scrubs, but only Narayan was able to get my feet soft and smooth! She uses her own organic scrubs and oils - including unrefined shea butter - silky! To top it off, she used three different shades layered on my toe nails - and they look fabulous! It's like a great paint job with amazing depth! I can't wait to show off my toes tomorrow at the office! Pros: Relaxing Ambience, Knowledgable and Friendly Staff, Organic Products more

I Never Have To Go To The Westside Again....HOORAY!!!! 8/17/2006

Finally, someone with a brain and vision figured out that us Eastsiders like to be pampered too and opened an amazing day spa, right in the heart of what is fast becoming the center of the universe here in Los Angeles (ATWATER/LOS FELIZ/SILVERLAKE/GLENDALE area). First off the name DTOX evokes all that is cleansing and good for you, you know you are in for a treat from the moment you walk in and see that beautiful floral mural! Can we talk about the beautifully decorated space, it is like a tranquil japanese garden in an industrial warehouse, too cool to be believed but not pretentious. Okay, but ultimately you will go there for the amazing spa treatments...everything you want...i recommemend the hot stone treatment, oh my god it was heaven. You can go early in the am and take the gentle and healing yoga class and have use of all the spa immenities...what is better then a steam after yoga? I heard a rumor that they are going to have a friday night happy hour thing happening which would mean, you could go to DTOX after work, steam and get rubbed down, take a shower all refreshed and grab dinner at ASIA and then head over to the BIGFOOT for the rest of the best evenning of your life!!! Oh life on the eastside, maybe i shouldnt be telling you all so i can keep this haven a secret for myself!!! Pros: location, atmosphere, skilled technicians Cons: nothing!! can i write more pros here? more

I can't wait to show off my toes tomorrow at the office! ************** I read the DailyCandy newsletter on July 31 about Dtox Day Spa and decided to try it out since it was only ten minutes away from my office in Hollywood. The overall service I received was great, starting from my call to the spa to make the appointment through the end of my visit. Dtox is an intimate spa with a tranquil atmosphere. I loved the decor and found each room had special touches. The common area had a trickling fountain, comfortable seating, the standard spa water with fruit and fresh blueberries and grapes. I signed up for the basic facial. The esthetician was good, but could use a little more experience. Id be more than happy to go back to her in another month. What really stood out were the products they use, which are all organic and smell Wonderful! Due to my personal schedule, I didnt have time to really use the spa facilities. Next time I will be sure take advantage of the steam room and sauna. I cant wait to go back and get a massage! Pros: Relaxing Ambience, Knowledgable and Friendly Staff, Organic Products more
